Hours of Work/Leave. 2.10.1 Employees shall work such hours as may be reasonably required of them to enable them to properly fulfil their responsibilities as teachers whether or not such hours exceed 40 hours per week. The normal hours of work for employees should as far as practicable however not exceed 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. 2.10.2 It is acknowledged that employees are required to undertake such duties as: - Preparation, evaluation and assessment time generated by classes/sessions and the students within them, or by other requirements such as the need to report on the progress of individual students; - Counselling of students; - Administrative responsibilities of individual teachers; - Attending courses and meetings; - Professional development in addition to their normal class contact time, and that these factors have been taken into consideration in determining the employee’s hours of work and leave entitlements. 2.10.3 Except as provided in 2.10.1 employees shall not be required to attend school during any time when the school is officially closed for instruction. However Boards may require employees to attend school or elsewhere, when the school is closed for instruction (except on weekends or public holidays unless by agreement) for up to ten days per school year (or the equivalent) for all or any of the following purposes – school administration, school preparation and co- ordination, pre-term planning curriculum and/or technical refreshment and/or professional development. The employer will endeavour to arrange matters at the school in such a way that any requirement under this section is not unreasonable and that employees’ individual needs are taken into account. Employees’ own initiatives in undertaking work for the above purposes shall be counted when applying this clause. 2.10.4 Where employees are required to attend school or elsewhere when the school is closed pursuant to 2.10.3 they shall be reimbursed for any actual and reasonable costs incurred in accordance with Part 5 of this Agreement. 2.10.5 Any employee required by their employer to work on a Public Holiday (as listed in section 44 Holidays Act 2003) shall be paid time and a half rates as per section 50 of that Act. 2.10.6 Teachers will take their annual leave outside the gazetted term dates.

Hours of Work/Leave. In this agreement, “day” means a twenty-four (24) hour day commencing at Officers will work a twelve (12) hour day normally in two (2) six (6) hour watches, during navigation season. The normal hours of work for employees should as far as practicable however not exceed 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 2.8.2 It is acknowledged that employees are required to undertake such duties as: • preparation, evaluation and assessment time generated by classes/sessions and the students within them, or by other requirements such as the need to report on the progress of individual students; • counselling of students; • administrative responsibilities of individual teachers; • attending courses and meetings; • professional development in addition to their normal class contact time, and that these factors have been taken into consideration in determining the employee's hours of work and leave entitlements.
Hours of Work/Leave. The shall perform such hours of work as may from time to time be reasonable required of him for the performance of his duties as and shall not be entitled to receive any additional remuneration for work outside his normal hours; The shall be entitled during every calendar year to such annual leave as the Board and the shall from time to time agree based on a six (6) day working week in addition to statutory holidays, during which his remuneration hereunder shall continue to be payable. Leave shall be taken at such times as the Board shall consider most convenient having regard to the requirements of the Company’s business. Any leave not taken when due may not either be carried over to any subsequent calendar year or be compensated for by the Company paying cash in lieu of leave not taken unless in either case the Board specifically agrees otherwise in writing.

The employer must provide decent living conditions including but not restricted to: Decent shelter (protection from the weather) An individual bed Full access to toilet facilities Space for personal items and clothing The employer shall also provide adequate meals every day as per the FCCs dietary requirements, allergies and religious requirements.

  • HOURS OF WORK i) Where employees are now working a longer daily tour, the provisions set out in this Article governing the regular hours of work on a daily tour shall be adjusted accordingly. ii) The normal daily extended tour shall be 11.25 consecutive hours in any 24-hour period, exclusive of a total of forty-five (45) minutes of unpaid meal time. For hybrid schedules, there will be scheduled normal daily tours of seven and one-half (7½) hours and 11.25 consecutive hours per day. iii) Employees working an extended tour shall be entitled, subject to the exigencies of resident care, to paid relief periods during the tour of a total of forty-five (45) minutes. For hybrid schedules, there will also be shifts that provide for relief periods in accordance with Article 15.02. iv) Scheduling issues will be resolved at the local level. v) Where the union and the employer have agreed to or agree to an extended daily tour or hybrid schedule that differs from the normal daily extended tour, the proportion of unpaid time to hours of work shall maintain the same ratio as set out in paragraph ii) and iii) of this Article.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME 16.01 For the purpose of pro-ration, the regular work week for Regular Full-Time Employees is thirty-five (35) hours per week scheduled over five (5) days (this shall not affect the definition of Full-Time status as set out in paragraph 2.05), Monday to Friday. The normal workday shall start no earlier than 6:30 a.m. and end no later than 6:30 p.m. There shall be a one (1) hour unpaid meal break taken at a time directed by the Employer. Where the workday exceeds nine (9) hours, there shall be a second thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch break taken at a time directed by the Employer. 16.02 It is understood and agreed that the provisions of this Article are intended only to provide a basis for calculating time worked and shall not be considered a guarantee as to the hours of work per day or the days of work per week. Should there be an adjustment in the hours of work, the salaries shall be adjusted based on the hours worked (salary divided by 1820 hours). 16.03 Authorized hours worked in excess of forty-four (44) hours per week (Sunday to Saturday) shall be paid at the rate of one and one half times (1.5x) Employee’s regular hourly rate of pay or time in lieu. An Employee who wishes to work forty- forty (44) or more hours must have written Employer approval before working this time. Should an Employee be required and is authorized by a Manager to work in excess of their regular scheduled hours per week, and this work occurs on a Saturday or Sunday, they will be paid at the rate of one and one half times (1.5x) their salary. Employees whose regular schedule includes Saturday or Sunday hours will not be eligible for this overtime. 16.04 An Employee who is called in and required to work outside his/her normal scheduled hours, other than those hours immediately prior to or after normal starting or quitting time, shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay at time and one-half (1.5 x) payment. Overtime and other premiums shall not be paid more than once for any hours worked and it is agreed that there shall be no pyramiding of overtime or any premiums provided for in this agreement.

  • – HOURS OF WORK & SCHEDULING 15.01 The normal hours of work for an employee are not a guarantee of work per day or per week, or a guarantee of days of work per week. The normal hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day, and seventy-five (75) hours in any bi-weekly period. 15.02 The normal daily shift shall consist of seven and one-half (7½) consecutive hours, exclusive of a one-half (½) hour unpaid meal period. Employees shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute paid break during each half of the normal daily shift, at a time designated by the Employer. 15.03 Employees required for reporting purposes shall remain at work for a period of up to fifteen (15) minutes which shall be unpaid. Should the reporting time extend beyond fifteen (15) minutes however, the entire period shall be considered overtime for the purposes of payment. 15.04 Requests for change in posted work schedules must be submitted in writing and co-signed by the employee willing to exchange days off or shifts and are subject to the discretion of the Administrator or her designate. In any event, it is understood that such a change initiated by the employee and approved by the Employer shall not result in overtime compensation or payment or any other claims on the Employer by any employee under the terms of this Agreement. 15.05 Where there is a change to Daylight Savings from Standard Time or vice-versa, an employee who is scheduled and works a full shift shall be paid for a seven and one-half (7½) hour shift rather than the actual hours worked. 15.06 In the event that a meal period is interrupted requiring an employee to attend to a work related problem, then the balance of the unused meal period will be taken within two (2) hours of the interruption. If the employee is unable to reschedule such time, she shall be paid time and one-half (1½) her regular straight time hourly rate for all time worked in excess of her normal daily hours, in accordance with Article 16.01.

(a) Any employee who is working a permanent shift as of December 31, 1996 shall not be transferred to another shift without their consent.
