ILLNESS/SICK LEAVE a. Illness leaves for members' illness or injury (only) shall be granted for a maximum of 10 days annually to each member designated as a contract or regular employee. b. Members who are not designated contract or regular employees shall accrue illness leave in the amount of one-half day for each 10% of full-time load per semester. c. A member shall be granted one additional day of illness leave upon completion of a full summer session assignment. d. Regular and contract members shall accrue overload illness leave in the amount of one- fourth day for each 10 % of full-time load per semester. e. The base utilized for calculations of earned sick leave for overload and part time non- instructional assignments shall be 525 hours. This calculation shall not apply to special projects. f. Any earned illness leave which is not used may be accumulated indefinitely from one year of service to the next and may be used as required for any assignment during subsequent years of service. g. Accrued overload illness leave may be accumulated indefinitely from one year's service to the next, but shall not be used in the computation of STRS benefits. h. No faculty member shall be entitled to sick leave for any day that the faculty member is not required to render service to the District. i. A faculty member is eligible to use his/her accrued sick leave during a summer session assignment if the initial diagnosis of the condition, verified by a physician's statement, does not predate the beginning of the service assignment and if the faculty member is able to assume the teaching assignment. j. Credit for illness leave need not be accrued prior to taking illness leave by the member, and such leave may be taken at any time during the fiscal year, not to exceed the balance of the employee's illness leave entitlement through June 30 of that fiscal year. k. The time lost through illness shall be deducted from the accrued leave balance in the same ratio as it was accrued. l. An employee who is on other leaves of absence without pay shall retain all accumulated illness leave benefits but shall not use or accrue any additional sick leave benefits during such periods of leave. m. When a member who is a contract or regular employee is absent from work because of illness or accident for a period of five school months or less, whether or not the absence arises out of or in the course of employment of the employee, the amount deducted from the salary due for any month in which the absence ...

ILLNESS/SICK LEAVE. General Manager shall accrue sick leave on the same basis as other District unrepresented (non-union) employees. If General Manager’s service with the District is severed by District action or General Manager's resignation, then General Manager shall be compensated for fifty (50%) of General Manager’s unused earned sick leave up to a maximum of 192 hours at General Manager’s then current rate of pay. If General Manager’s service with the District is severed by General Manager's retirement or death, then General Manager shall be compensated for one hundred (100%) of General Manager’s unused earned sick leave up to a maximum of 192 hours at General Manager’s then current rate of pay. In the case of termination by reason of the death of the General Manager, then such compensation shall be paid to either the General Manager’s beneficiary or to General Manager’s estate entitled thereto.

ILLNESS/SICK LEAVE. A. Each professional employee certified by the State Board of Education and employed by the Board of Education of the Town of Stonington shall be entitled to a minimum of sick leave with full pay of 15 school days in each year. Unused sick leave may be accumulated up to, but not in excess of, one hundred eighty five (185) school days. B. For absence due to illness certified by the Superintendent of Schools beyond the available sick leave, employees, subject to the approval of the Board, or its designee, shall be paid the difference between their regular salary and the cost incurred in connection with obtaining a substitute teacher to assume their responsibilities. C. When a teacher has to be absent because of illness of a member of the immediate family, (as defined in Article 25, Section B) such absence will be deducted from such leave. This will be a maximum of five (5) days in any academic year and will be noncumulative from one year to another. The Superintendent shall have the right to request a doctor's certificate to ascertain the validity of the actual illness.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

Employees hired prior to July 1, 1997: Employee will be paid for unused sick days in the following manner: a. Payment for unused sick days will be made to the employee upon that employee’s early or full service retirement or, upon the employee’s death, to the employee’s estate. Employees eligible for early or full service retirement who resign from employment and do not receive a retirement benefit, shall forfeit all rights to payment for unused sick days. b. Employees, who have a balance of less than 250 unused sick days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to a maximum of 250 unused days at their average daily rate*. c. Employees who have a balance of unused sick days greater then 250 days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to their June 30, 2002, unused sick leave balance, at their average daily rate*. d. Payments for unused sick days in amounts greater than $5,000 will be paid in equal amounts over five consecutive years beginning with the year of retirement. e. Payments for unused sick days in the amount at $5,000 or less or for the death of an employee will be paid in a lump sum to the employee or the employee’s estate in the year of retirement or death.

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave During the Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the Company's standard policies for its senior executive officers.

  • Illness Leave Employees on an illness leave shall use all of their available entitlement time (i.e., vacation and paid or unpaid personal days) prior to using excused unpaid time.

The Executive shall also be entitled to an annual sick leave benefit as established by the Board for senior management employees of the Bank. For purposes of family sick leave, “immediate family member” will mean the employee’s parent, spouse, or child, including step-child and xxxxxx child.

  • Vacations; Leave The Employee shall be entitled to annual paid vacation in accordance with the policies established by the Board of Directors for executive employees and to voluntary leave of absence, with or without pay, from time to time at such times and upon such conditions as the Board of Directors may determine in its discretion.
