Long Service Incentive. 18.1. An employee shall be entitled to long service incentive payments or the equivalent time on paid leave as follows:
(a) A one-off payment equivalent to one week’s pay after the completion of five years of continuous service with the Employer;
(b) A one-off payment equivalent to two weeks’ pay after the completion of ten years of continuous service with the Employer;
(c) A one-off payment equivalent to three weeks’ pay after the completion of fifteen years of continuous service with the Employer;
(d) A one-off payment equivalent to three weeks’ pay after the completion of twenty years continuous service with the Employer;
(e) A one-off payment equivalent to three weeks’ pay after the completion of twenty- five years continuous service with the Employer;
(f) A one-off payment equivalent to four weeks’ pay after the completion of 30 years continuous service with the Employer;
(g) A one-off payment equivalent to five weeks’ pay after the completion of thirty-five years continuous service with the Employer.
18.2. Payments for all such long service incentives should be calculated at the average weekly earnings of the preceding 52 weeks.
Long Service Incentive. (As per 415)
3.8.1 Teachers will receive a gift in the value of twenty dollars ($20) per year on each five-year (5) anniversary: 5 years–$100 10 years–$200 15 years–$300 20 years–$400 25 years–$500 30 years–$600 35 years–$700 40 years–$800
3.8.2 Employees who meet the criteria for retirement; at least ten (10) years of service with the School Division and are fifty-five (55) years of age or older, will also receive a Retirement certificate and twenty dollars ($20) per year of service upon retiring.
Long Service Incentive. 3.7.1. Effective November 27, 2023, a teacher, upon achieving twenty-five (25) and thirty (30) years of service with the Employer, shall be granted one (1) day leave with pay, to be taken within the school year of achieving their twenty-fifth
Long Service Incentive. 3.6.3.1. Effective the date of local ratification (June 23, 2023), teachers on contract shall be recognized for Long Service to the School Division at five- (5-) year increments starting at fifteen (15) years of service, with the provision of one (1) day in lieu with full pay and benefits. The day in lieu will be granted in the following school year.

Effective August 29, 2023, a teacher, upon achieving twenty-five (25) and thirty (30) years of service with the School Division, shall be granted one (1) day leave with pay, to be taken within the school year of achieving their twenty-fifth (25th) or thirtieth (30th) year of service. This day will have no payout nor carry over option available. If required substitute teacher coverage will be provided for this day. Effective the year of implementation, all continuous contract teachers above thirty (30) years of service shall be granted one (1) day leave with pay in recognition of their long service with the School Division. This is a one time item at implementation only and will not be reflected in the collective agreement. This day will have no payout nor carry over option available. If required, substitute teacher coverage will be provided for this day.
Long Service Incentive. 3.7.1. A teacher, upon achieving twenty-five (25) and thirty (30) years of service with the School Division, shall be granted one (1) day leave with pay, to be taken within the school year of achieving their twenty-fifth (25th) or thirtieth (30th) year of service. If not used, this day will not be paid out or carried forward to a future school year. Substitute teacher coverage will be provided for this day, if required. Effective in the 2024/25 school year, all continuous contract teachers who are above thirty (30) years of service and have not received a leave day under clause 3.7.1 shall be granted one (1) day leave with pay in recognition of their long service with this division.

Long Service Incentive. 3.6.1. Teachers shall receive one (1) lieu day in each of their 25 and 30 years of continuous service and two (2) lieu days in their 35 year of continuous service.
3.6.2. Continuous service would be defined as service earned while drawing a pay cheque from the School Division. Continuous service shall not be interrupted by virtue of being granted a leave of absence without pay, without pay and benefits, or extended disability; however, these leaves of absences shall not be counted in determining the long service incentive.
3.6.3. Continuous years of service shall be determined in each school year as of September 1. Once a teacher attains the required years of continuous service, the long service incentive must be used within that school year and will not be carried forward or paid out.
3.6.4. The long-term incentive lieu days cannot be combined with personal leaves.
3.6.5. For the year of implementation only: Long service implementation for continuous contract teachers who are above twenty-five (25) years of service with the School Division shall be granted one (1) day leave with pay in recognition of their long service with the School Division. This is a one-time only item at implementation to capture and recognize teachers who have provided beyond the long service time frames recognized in this clause.
Long Service Incentive. (effective September 1, 2024)
8.4.6.1. All teachers on contract shall receive one (1) day in lieu in recognition of their long service to the School Division on their twenty-fifth (25), thirtieth (30) and thirty-fifth (35) anniversary of employment in alignment with the School Division long service recognition programs.
8.4.6.2. The day must be taken by June 30 of the school year in which it is earned, or the day will be forfeited, and no payment shall be made in lieu.
8.4.6.3. Teachers who achieved milestone service in the 2023-24 school year will be eligible for the recognition lieu day in 2024-25 school year provided it is taken prior to January 1, 2025.
Long Service Incentive. Teachers who meet the criteria for retirement (at least 15 years of service with the Board and are 55 years of age or older) will also receive a Retirement honorarium of $1,000.00 upon retiring.
