Off-Site Training. With the approval of his or her supervisor and department head or division director, an employee may attend off-site training (e.g., outside seminars and workshops) that will be of direct benefit to the employee's assignment. The division director or department head will approve attendance at off- site training only when the benefits to LBNL will, in his or her judgment, more than offset the costs involved, when the required skill or knowledge is not readily available through LBNL training resources, and when the employee's time away from LBNL will not adversely impact current work demands. The division will pay course fees, travel, and all other expenses as necessary.
Off-Site Training. The Company may initiate the training of employees off the work site and direct employees to attend. The Company will provide room, board and travel. If the employee is on scheduled days off this training will be considered as time worked and paid at overtime rates. Employees will be excused from attending training if they have legitimate personal reasons which will not be unreasonably withheld.
Off-Site Training. The Employer may co-mingle Employees in training. The Company may move an Employee’s workweek if an Employee assigned to a four-ten (4/10) workweek is required to attend training that is only provided on a five-eight (5/8) workweek so that the Employee can attend said training. This shall also apply to an Employee assigned to a five-eight (5/8) workweek that is required to attend training only provided on a four-ten (4/10) workweek. If an Employee on a Monday through Thursday four-ten (4/10) workweek needs to attend training on a Friday, the Employee may be put on a Tuesday through Friday four-ten (4/10) workweek to attend the training. Advanced notice will be provided to the Union in anticipation of moving an Employee’s workweek.
Off-Site Training. When required to attend off-site training seminars, First Aid, CPR etc. at the company’s request, employees on all shifts shall have the option of going back to work at the end of the training session, should the training session conclude prior to the end of their shift. The employee must inform the shift Supervisor/Manager ahead of time as to whether they will be returning to work. If they choose not to work they do not get paid for the remainder of their shift.
Off-Site Training. Employees who attend training away from the plant, in excess of their normal commute, will be reimbursed for reasonable travel time and excess mileage at the rate of 52¢/Km. Training to the extent possible will be scheduled within normal working hours.
Off-Site Training a. From time to time training may be arranged by the Company, either whilst on rostered break or during roster, in Perth.
Off-Site Training. Section 13. Members attending hands-on, job-related fire or rescue training will be paid their regular rate for such training. Members may attend up to forty (40) hours of such rescue training per year, subject to the needs of the organization and the approval of the Chief. The Chief may authorize additional paid training as needed.
