PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND UNIFORMS. (1) Protective clothing shall be supplied free of charge to each practitioner as required and shall be laundered by the employer. (2) If the employer requires uniforms to be worn they shall be supplied free of charge to each practitioner as required and shall be laundered by the employer. (3) Practitioners shall be provided with appropriate change and safe storage facilities. (4) Any such clothing or uniforms shall remain the property of the employer and must be returned at the completion of the practitioner’s period of service.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND UNIFORMS. The City will provide, where needed, the following uniforms and protective clothing: A. Coveralls for the Shop Mechanic, Wastewater Treatment Plant personnel, and also Street, Construction and Repair, and Water personnel as needed for working in traffic and asphalt. Maintenance of coveralls will be provided. B. Uniform Clothing will be provided for all members of the bargaining unit who work in the Public Works, Parks & Recreation, Community Development and Airport Departments except those employees whose work is routinely considered to be office related or clerical in nature as follows: 1. The City will furnish uniform clothing to employees when it is required to be worn. Cost annually shall not exceed $200 per employee. 2. Uniforms may consist of shirts, coats, coveralls, pants and safety footwear, as determined appropriate by department supervisors. The number of shirts provided per employee shall not exceed six (6) per year. 3. The laundry and maintenance of the uniforms are the responsibility of the employee. 4. Any employee furnished uniform clothing will be required to wear it during all normal working hours, except Community Development employees who are required to wear uniform clothing only when working out in the field. Uniforms may not be worn during off duty hours. 5. All uniform shirts and coats shall have a City emblem on them. 6. Employees may annually choose from a list of pre-selected clothing options and order or purchase those items any time during the year upon prior approval of the supervisor. C. Rain gear, hats, t-shirts, safety vests and other personal protective items will be provided as needed by the City for the same positions as listed in Section B.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND UNIFORMS. 19.01 Work gloves, rainwear shall be furnished to all employees when and where necessary. 19.02 All regular employees will be issued, at Company expense, with safety shoes/boots, at a maximum of $150.00 per year. Effective January 1, 2010, all regular employees not issued rubber boots as their regular footwear will be provided, at Company expense, with safety shoes/boots, at a maximum of $150.00 per year.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND UNIFORMS. (FORESTRY ONLY) Section 1. If an employee is required to wear protective clothing or any type of protective device, unless normally provided by employees according to industrial practices, protective clothing or devices shall be provided by the Employer. Articles now provided shall continue to be provided by the Employer unless the need is eliminated by changing the nature of the work assignment. Coveralls or other appropriate clothing shall be made available to employees who are required to perform building or equipment maintenance or repair work, where such work will soil clothing beyond normal home-laundry capabilities. Section 2. If an employee is required to wear a uniform and/or boots, the employee shall be eligible for reimbursement of up to three hundred and fifty dollars ($350.00) per biennial budget period, for the approved uniforms and boots. The Agency will designate those employees required to wear uniforms and/or boots. The Agency will determine the color, type and quality of the uniform and the type, style and composition of the boots. Section 3. Communication System Analysts will provide the tools of the trade (hand tools) which are required by the position description for efficient performance of the work. The employee will be reimbursed for up to four hundred fifty dollars ($450.00) per biennium prorated from the date the Agreement is signed, whichever is later, for receipted costs of purchase, upkeep and maintenance of his/her tools. Specialty tools, power tools, and equipment which fall outside the normal “tools of the trade” shall be provided by the Agency. The Agency will not be responsible to pay for broken or worn tools if such tools are covered under a guarantee or warranty and are repaired or replaced free of charge by the manufacturer or supplier.

These employees will be covered by Department Directive (0-3-3-380). The Agency will determine the color, type and quality of the uniform and the type, style and composition of the boots. Section 3.
