SAFETY AND ERGONOMICS a. The Employer reserves the right to inspect the Remote Location at a time that is mutually agreeable to the parties. Any such inspection will be conducted with an Association representative in order to confirm that the Remote Location is appropriate and that it meets with WorkSafeBC requirements. It is assumed that the Employee, by agreeing to the Telecommuting Agreement, has ensured that the Remote Location meets safety and ergonomic requirements before the Employee may perform his or her duties from the Remote Location. If substantial changes are made to the Remote Location, the Employee shall notify the Employer, and the Employer reserves the right to schedule an inspection to determine ongoing appropriateness of the Remote Location and to require changes to the Remote Location, if the telecommuting arrangement is to continue. The Employer will advise the Association if they schedule a site visit and the Association will attend. It is the Employee’s responsibility to maintain the remote worksite in accordance with all applicable Occupational Health & Safety regulations. SAFETY AND ERGONOMICS. All of the Employer’s occupational health and safety policies and procedures shall apply with respect to an employee’s remote work location. If the Employer determines that an external assessment of a remote work location is required, then the employee must permit, on reasonable notice, access to the remote work location by assessors appointed by the Employer.
SAFETY AND ERGONOMICS. (a) The Employer and a Union Staff Representative shall jointly inspect the Remote Location at a time that is mutually agreeable to all parties. The inspection will be conducted in order to confirm that the Remote Location is appropriate and that it meets with WCB requirements. It is agreed that the Remote Location must be deemed satisfactory in writing by both the Employer and the Union before the employee may perform his or her duties from the Remote Location.   • HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT 41.1 In the performance of this Contract, Contractor and Operator shall conduct Petroleum Operations with due regard to health, safety and the protection of the environment (“HSE”) and the conservation of natural resources, and shall in particular:

  • Safety and Protection 8.18.1 The Contractor shall be responsible for initiating, maintaining and supervising all safety precautions and programs in connection with the Work. The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions for the safety of, and shall provide the necessary protection to prevent damage, injury or loss to:

  • Pupil Safety and Fingerprinting CONTRACTOR shall comply with all provisions of the Education Code which protect the safety of any pupil that may come in contact with employees of the CONTRACTOR. Pursuant to Education Code section 45125.1, CONTRACTOR shall conduct criminal background checks of ALL employees of CONTRACTOR assigned to the PROJECT site, and shall certify that no employees who have been convicted of serious or violent felonies, as specified in Education Code Section 45125.1, will have contact with pupils, by utilizing the General Certification Regarding Background Checks Form. As part of such certification, CONTRACTOR must provide the District with a list of all employees providing services pursuant to this Agreement, and designate which sites such employees will be assigned. In performing the services set forth in this Agreement, CONTRACTOR shall not utilize any employees who are not included on the above-referenced list. At District’s sole discretion, District may make a finding, as authorized under Education Code section 45125.1, that CONTRACTOR’s employees will have only “limited contact” with pupils. In accordance with Education Code Section 45125.2, a CONTRACTOR performing construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation or repair services to a school facility shall not be required to perform Section 45125.1 background checks of all employees assigned to the PROJECT site if such CONTRACTOR installs a physical barrier at the worksite to limit employee contact with pupils and/or provides continual supervision and monitoring of all employees of the CONTRACTOR by an employee of the CONTRACTOR whom the Department of Justice has ascertained has not been convicted of a violent or serious felony. Such CONTRACTOR shall certify to the District its compliance with one of the aforementioned alternatives under Education Code Section 45125.2 pertaining to pupil safety with the form entitled CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR CERTIFICATION REGARDING BACKGROUND CHECKS which is on file at the Administrative Office of the DISTRICT. Contractor’s failure to comply with the law or Article VI, Paragraph 4 of this Agreement shall be considered a material breach of this Agreement upon where this Agreement may be terminated, at District’s sole discretion, without any further compensation to Contractor.

  • SAFETY AND HEALTH 20.1 The Employer, employee and Union have a significant responsibility for workplace safety and health.

  • Safety Boots Each employee, after 3 months’ continuous service, will be reimbursed (on production of a receipt), the cost of one pair of safety boots (approved by the employer), in each year, to a maximum of $110.00. Wet Weather All protective clothing such as wet weather jackets, safety helmets, welding jackets, welding xxxxxxx, welding gauntlets, rubber boots, etc, (which remain the property of the Company), will be supplied on all occasions deemed necessary.

  • SAFETY & HEALTH The Employer and the IBTCoalition agree that the safety of employees and the general public is of utmost importance. Therefore, the Employer shall provide a safe work environment that is free of recognized hazards that could cause death, injury or illness.

  • Safety Orientation All Employees shall be certified in Safety Orientation. Safety Orientation shall consist of three parts: PART 1 - the CODC Interactive Rights and Responsibilities course (renewal required after five years), PART 2 - the XXXX course (renewal required after five years) or equivalent and PART 3 - Employer or Owner Project Specific Training. Workers being dispatched to an Employer must have obtained certification in PART 1 and PART 2. As a condition of employment each Employee must maintain certification in Part 1 and Part 2. Foremen must obtain certification in either the CODC Better SuperVision course or the UA Foremen course (including completion of the classroom component, Leadership for Safety Excellence and the on-the-job course field evaluation report). This course is to be completed within the first year of being promoted to the xxxxxxx position. Employees shall not be on the payroll or paid while receiving this training. The Employer will not be required to pay for either course. Employees shall not be on the payroll or paid while receiving PART 1 & 2 training. All other costs for registration, certification or any other costs related to the training and certification in the CODC Interactive Rights and Responsibilities course, the XXXX course or equivalent shall be paid for by the Union or by the Educational Trust Fund. The Employer or Owner shall provide to each Employee before commencing work with PART 3 - Employer or Owner Project Specific Training. Each Employee shall be on the payroll and paid while receiving PART 3 training. The CODC Harassment Policy and Procedures, including the provisions regarding General Harassment and as amended from time to time shall be the minimum standard of this agreement.

  • Accident Prevention Health and Safety Committee (a) The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the Hospital in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness. its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Hospital agrees to accept as a member of its Accident Prevention Health Safety Committee at least one representative selected or appointed by the Union from amongst bargaining unit employees. Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. The Hospital agrees to co-operate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the Committee to its functions. Meetings shall be held every second month or more frequently at the call of the chair if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. Any representative appointed or selected in accordance with hereof shall serve for a term of one calendar year from the date of appointment, which may be renewed for further periods of one year. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Accident Prevention Health Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing shall be granted and time so spent attending such meetings shall be deemed to be work time for which the representative(s) shall be paid by the Hospital at his regular or premium rate as may be applicable. The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full co- operation of its membership in the observation of all safety rules and practices. Pregnant employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the professional opinion of the employee's physician, the pregnancy may be at risk. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the maternity leave referred to in Article Where the Hospital identifies high risk areas where employees are exposed to Hepatitis the Hospital will provide, at no cost to the employees, a Hepatitis B vaccine.
