SAFETY AND FIRST AID. 14.01 Time shall be allowed during regular working hours for the practice of resuscitation, for safety training and for first aid instruction. First aid training shall be carried out under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Time for the safety and first aid training may be arranged during periods of inclement weather but regardless of opportunities provided by inclement weather, time shall be provided at least once each month. 14.02 The Employer and Union will maintain a Health and Safety Committee as required by legislation.

The Company will provide appropriate information and support to the process. The committee shall not formulate policy nor have the authority to modify existing labor agreement provisions. The committee will be comprised of three (3) CWA nominated members and three (3) representatives of the Company. Meetings will be held at mutually agreed upon frequency and times.

SAFETY AND FIRST AID. Both parties to this agreement will maintain high standards of safety, health and sanitation in the plant in order to eliminate, as far as possible, accidents and illness, and no employee shall be required to work in an unsafe environment. Effective April 1, 2010 the Gallaway, TN facility and property became a tobacco free workplace. When assigning employees to an unfamiliar job or area, the Company will continue its practice of providing training for safe and efficient operations. The Company will arrange for emergency and subsequent medical treatment for job-incurred injuries and illness. The Company will provide adequate first aid equipment and personnel. Whenever safety equipment, devices and protective clothing are required for the operation being performed, such equipment, devices and protective clothing will be furnished by the Company. In the event employees are required to wear protective footwear (i.e. slip resistant soles, steel-toes, etc) the Company will reimburse the employee a maximum of $50 per calendar year for slip resistant soles and a maximum of $75 per year for steel-toe shoes. The Company will provide an approved selection of shoes for employees to choose from an authorized vendor. When an employee is injured during a work shift and must be treated by a doctor or first aid station, such employee shall not lose any wages that normally would have been received during such shift had the injury not occurred. The Company and the Union hereby agree to cooperate in the enforcement of and adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations issued or adopted by the Company or any local, State or Federal law, administrative agency, including the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1973, and all regulations adopted thereunder which are applicable to the Company's operation. Copies of any safety rules adopted or changed by the Company after the date of this contract shall be furnished to the Union. A committee of three (3) members from among the plant employees, to be selected by the Union and three (3) members to be selected by the Company shall be called the Safety Committee. The Safety Committee may call in other employees to the meetings if they have a direct relationship to the issues being discussed. SAFETY AND FIRST AID. Permit Holder will be responsible for supplying its own first aid kit for its participants and spectators, but the Permit Holder will have access to any safety equipment available at the School, including its Automated External Defibrillator(s), as well as a School telephone, as required. • The Permit Holder and its associated participants and spectators must abide by the School Division’s Fire Evacuation/Emergency Response Procedures. A description of same is attached to this Permit. • The Permit Holder is responsible for deciding whether or not the School facility being used is safe for the Permit Holder’s activity. A certificate by the School Division’s Director of Buildings or the designate thereof will be evidence of such loss or damage and Permit Holder will the amount of such loss or damage upon demand by the Division. • Without written permission from the school Division’s Director of Buildings or the designated thereof, no pianos, motion picture equipment or other apparatus will be brought into the School Building and no structure or apparatus will be places upon or erected • Permission to use facilities in the School does not carry with it the right to use any moveable apparatus in the School.
