Shift Personnel. A. When called in with less than two (2) hours notice, to replace an employee on shift or to perform overtime for a full shift, two (2) meals.
B. When held over for six (6) hours or more, two (2) meals.
C. When held over for more than two (2) hours but less than six (6) hours, one (1) meal.
Shift Personnel. 1. Within 30 days after successful completion of the probationary period, employees will make arrangements with the department for purchase of the first complete dress uniform. This purchase, and all approved replacements thereafter, will be at City expense.
2. Each uniformed employee shall be allowed to purchase work uniforms during each fiscal year, as needed, up to a maximum reimbursable cost of $450. Department head approval must be obtained prior to purchase. The department head shall submit to the City Manager his recommendations for articles of clothing to be considered essential uniform components, and no article of clothing shall be considered an essential uniform component until it receives such approval from the City Manager. No uniform component shall be replaced unless and until the component to be discarded is turned in to the department head for disposal. Employees shall obtain approval of the department head prior to the purchase of uniform components. Uniform purchases shall comply with procurement procedures established in the City's Purchasing Manual. All invoices for uniform purchases made during each fiscal year, delineating purchases for each employee, shall be provided on a timely basis to the Administrative Services Department. Only actual uniform purchases for each employee, up to a maximum total of $450 per fiscal year, shall be reported to CalPERS.
3. Safety equipment, as required, will be furnished by the City.
4. Uniforms shall be worn in accordance with departmental regulations, and shall be appropriately maintained by the employee.
Shift Personnel. Shift personnel shall report for duty, ready to work, at 0700, and shall go off after forty-eight (48) hours at 0700. A shift constitutes a twenty- four (24) hour period; therefore, shift personnel work two consecutive twenty-four (24) hour shifts
Shift Personnel. The work schedule shall be approximately forty (40) hours per week, consisting of an eight (8) day cycle, based on two (2) days, two (2) nights, and four (4) days off and eight
Shift Personnel. 1. Members desiring personal leave shall apply by submitting their request to their appropriate supervisor. Members who desire more than one block of leave shall prioritize their request, understanding that only their first preference shall be afforded seniority before other members’ requests shall be considered. Once members have had the chance to submit their first preference the most senior member’s second request shall be considered. This shall be repeated until all requests are considered. The members shall attempt to eliminate conflicting requests prior to the closing of the posting.
Shift Personnel. A. Paid holidays for Shift Personnel are the following: • New Year's Day — January 1 • Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Xxx — third Monday in January • President's Day — third Monday in February • Memorial Day — last Monday in May • Independence Day — July 4 • Labor Day — first Monday in September • Thanksgiving — fourth Thursday in November • Veteran’s Day – November 11 • Christmas — December 25 • Two (2) floating holidays
B. Shift Personnel will be paid an additional eight (8) hours of straight time for each holiday during the pay period in which the holiday falls, with the exception of the two (2) floating holidays and Veteran's Day. The eight (8) hours of straight time from each of the two (2) floating holidays and Veteran's Day will be added to the Employee’s annual leave balance at the beginning of the year for a total of twenty-four (24) hours of vacation.
C. The eight (8) hours of holiday (straight-time) pay are not counted as overtime hours for purposes of FLSA calculations.
Shift Personnel. If no sick leave or dependent-care leave is used during a calendar year, the following year the Employee will receive an additional forty-eight (48) hours of vacation. If twenty- four (24) hours or less of sick leave/dependent-care leave is used, the Employee will receive twenty-four
Shift Personnel. A. The normal workweek shall not be more than fifty-six (56) hours per average workweek.
B. The Authority’s shift schedule will consist of two (2) consecutive twenty-four hour shifts followed by four (4) consecutive days off duty. The schedule will be considered a 48/96 schedule. All scheduled twenty-four (24) hours shifts will be treated as working shifts.
C. A typical work period is as follows: X=work day, O=off day: XXOOOOXXOOOOXXOOOOXXOOOOXXOOOO and so on. Shift Personnel work an average of fifty- six (56) hours per week or one hundred twelve (112) hours per two (2) week pay period.
D. The starting time for determining a twenty-four (24) hour shift shall be 8:00 a.m. of each calendar
Shift Personnel. Except for socks, belts, underwear and sleeping apparel, the Authority shall furnish all uniforms, protective clothing and protective devices required by the Authority in the performance of the duties of Shift Personnel.
Shift Personnel. 16.1.1. Shift personnel’s work schedule is based on two thousand nine hundred and twenty (2920) hours in a calendar year.
16.1.1.1. This figure is based on shift personnel working a total of 121.66 shifts in a calendar year (January 1 to December 31) and multiplying the number of shifts worked by 24 hours (hours worked per shift, 0800 to 0800).
16.1.2. Shift personnel work a schedule, known as the “24/48”, which consists of twenty-four (24) hours on duty, forty-eight (48) hours off duty, as assigned by the Fire Chief or designee.
16.1.2.1. The Union and City agree that other work week hours may be assigned to personnel in the best interests of the Department and/or employee.
16.1.2.2. The work day commences at 0800 hours and concludes at 0800 hours the following day, as assigned by the Fire Chief or designee.
16.1.2.3. For the Fire Department a “work day” is one day.
16.1.3. To limit the liability of hours worked for the purposes of calculating FLSA Overtime, the City will provide assigned shift personnel with one Xxxxx (“K”) day per work period. A work period consists of 27 days and the first date of the work period is that set forth by the Fire Chief.
16.1.3.1. One “K” day will be taken per member during each of the occurring work periods in a calendar year.
16.1.3.1.1. The 1st work period will begin on November 10, 2011 and continue for twenty-seven (27) days and subsequently restart again for each twenty-seven (27) day period.
16.1.3.2. Based on the addition of one “K” day per work period, a shift employee works an average of one hundred ninety-two (192) hours in a twenty-seven (27) day work period, which removes the City’s liability for FLSA overtime.
16.1.3.3. Members of the bargaining unit shall have the ability to select their “K” days in advance, and shall do so no later than December 1 of each year.
16.1.3.3.1. All new employees shall have “K” days assigned during their first year of employment.
