Time of Vacations. The vacation schedule for all employees shall be approved by the building supervisor.
Time of Vacations. (a) Employees may express their preference for the timing and splitting of their vacation. Where possible, the employee’s vacation requests will be granted, compatible with vacation schedules of other personnel in the decision unit and conducive to the efficient operation of the decision unit. In disputes involving scheduling of vacations, employee seniority will prevail.
(b) An employee’s vacation should be completed within the calendar year. Vacations may be postponed with advance written approval by the Operations Superintendent.
(c) An employee who completes one year service during the latter part of a calendar year shall be granted a full vacation even though a part of such vacation extends into the next calendar year.
Time of Vacations. (a) Vacations will be taken at such times of the year as will not interfere with the efficient scheduling of operations in the plant, and must be arranged and approved by the Local Management. Insofar as possible, employees with the longer length of service will be given their preference as to the time of their vacations. Should an employee receive a temporary layoff during a slack period, or an emergency layoff (due to shortage of materials, etc.), the employee may elect to receive his/her vacation pay during such layoff.
(b) Vacation schedules will be arranged as early in the year as possible. Once an employee's vacation has been scheduled and approved by Local Management it shall not be changed within thirty (30) calendar days prior to the scheduled vacation unless by mutual agreement between the employee and his/her supervisor or for emergency conditions clearly beyond the control of the Company, such as fire, flood, storm, failure of utilities, or a labour dispute. If rescheduling is necessary Local Management will attempt to arrange an alternate vacation period consistent with the employee's desires and seniority standing.
(c) Vacation must be taken annually and are not cumulative. However, any vacation started during the end of one calendar year may continue without a break into the subsequent calendar year, and such vacation will be considered for the year in which the vacation started.
(d) Plant or Department shutdowns for vacation purposes may be provided if they will not interfere with the efficient scheduling of operations in the plant, and such periods are mutually agreed to by the Local Management and Local Union not less than sixty (60) days prior to the effective date of such shutdown. Such shutdown periods, however, will not exceed a total period of two weeks. Employees eligible for vacation in Departments or Plants where shutdowns are to occur must take vacation at that time.
Time of Vacations. Vacations shall be granted at the time requested by the Employee as long as no disruption of work will occur, and manpower needs of the Department are met. Vacation request for the calendar year submitted no later than January 15 will be granted on a seniority basis in the event of conflict. However, a vacation week request will have priority over a vacation day request. Vacation requests submitted after January 15 will be granted on a first requested basis in the event of a conflict. The Chief of Police must approve all vacation requests in writing before they become effective. Vacation requests after January 15 will be granted on a first requested basis. They may be requested for the entire calendar year. Vacation weeks will have priority over unapproved vacation days. Vacation days will have NO priority over approved days coming, personal day, compensation time after January 15 and will be granted on a first requested basis. Vacation time will not be canceled due to routine shift shortage (i.e. sickness). All vacation time will be taken in weekly increments except an employee may take ten (10) days of his vacation time in one day increments. Vacation requests for the following year may began at the conclusion of shift bidding each year.
Time of Vacations. (a) Full-time academic staff (other than probationary) may take their vacations within a two-year period, with the approval of the Xxxx or Academic Vice-President as appropriate.
(b) Full-time academic staff on probation shall be expected to take their annual vacation within each twelve months of service. Other arrangements may be with the consent of administration.
(c) Sessional instructors and replacement sessional instructors holding appointment of less than twelve (12) months are not entitled to any vacation but shall be paid eight (8%) percent of their gross salary. This shall be included on each month's pay cheque.

If the Board requires the services of an Academic Staff Member during vacation period, and if the Academic Staff Member agrees, then he may choose: or may elect to have that portion of vacation added to the following year's vacation, providing that this will not conflict with the reasonable needs of the College. Vacation entitlement shall not accumulate beyond two consecutive years. When an Academic Staff Member terminates employment prior to completion of a year's employment, the Academic Staff Member shall be granted vacation pay pro-rated on the portion of the year worked.

Time of Vacations. Every employee who is entitled to a vacation in accordance with the foregoing schedule must take it during the calendar year, except those employees who were on protracted layoff or leave of absence for illness of sixty

Vacation day requests made no later than March 31 are granted on a seniority basis and will have priority over comp day requests. Vacation day requests made after March 31 will have no priority over comp days and will be granted on a first requested basis. Vacation days will not be canceled due to routine shift shortage (sickness).
