Time Trades. Employees who have time trade agreements pending prior to the deployment both Parties must agree to change the trade dates or cancel the trade. If an employee fails to rectify pending time trade agreements within fifteen (15) minutes of being contacted about a fire assignment, the employee will forfeit their turn to be deployed.
Time Trades. Employees may agree to time trades with other employees who are qualified to perform the duties required in the course of the trade. Such agreement shall be in writing and signed by the affected employees. Supervisors shall not withhold approval of time trades without valid cause. Time trades are voluntary agreements between employees and shall not cause financial liability to the employer. The employees are individually responsible to ensure that the time trade occurs as approved. The employee who fails to complete the trade as approved shall be charged with leave without pay, unless other leave is approved by the employee’s supervisor. Employees will submit requests seven (7) days in advance of the trade date. If a trade is denied a brief explanation shall be provided on the form, which will then be returned to the employee. All time trades shall be completed within a thirty (30)-day time period. The notification deadlines and/or the completion period may be extended or reduced at individual functional units by mutual agreement between the local Union and the Functional Unit Manager via the Labor/Management meeting process. Functional Unit Manager may reduce the minimum notification deadline or extend the completion period at their discretion and with the agreement of the affected employee.
Time Trades. A. Employees shall notify the Agency if they wish to make a time trade with another employee of the same classification including Dental Assistants. Time trades shall not be unreasonably denied. Time trades may be denied where either employee is not trained for the work assignment being exchanged. The Employer shall incur no overtime penalties or liabilities as a result of time trades. The employees are individually responsible to ensure that the time trade occurs as approved. The employee who fails to complete the trade as approved shall be charged with leave without pay, unless use of other leave is approved by the employee’s supervisor.
B. All time trades shall be completed within the current bid cycle.
C. At SFFC, staff who fail to complete two (2) trades in six (6) months will not be allowed to make a time trade for sixty (60) days. Another failure to complete two (2) trades in six (6) months will result in no time trades for that staff for one hundred twenty (120) days.
Time Trades. Employees may trade a day or their full shift rotation provided all conditions are met under Article 25 Section 6 of the Agreement and there is no shift/days off bidding. Employees assigned as staff relief will be compensated per Article 16 Section 11 Staff Relief.
Time Trades. Section 1. Fire suppression employees shall have the right to trade shifts with the approval of the Captain or Assistant Fire Chief subject to the restrictions set forth in this article, and when the change does not interfere with the normal operation of the Xxxxxxxx Fire Division.
Section 2. The City shall incur no additional wage responsibility or additional accrued benefits liability because of a shift exchange.
Section 3. The hours worked shall be excluded by the City in the calculation of the hours for which the substituting employee would otherwise be entitled to overtime compensation. Where one employee substitutes for another, each employee will be credited as if he had worked his normal work schedule for that shift.
Section 4. The practice of an employee who relieves another employee on a previous shift prior to his scheduled starting time shall not be considered as time trade.
Section 5. Time trades shall be documented on a Time Trade Authorization Form substantially the same as shown in Exhibit B, and approved by the Captain or Assistant Fire Chief prior to the commencement of the shift exchange or time trade. Documentation shall be governed by Xxxxxxxx Fire Division.
Section 6. Employees who have already agreed to work a certain period of time for another employee as a time trade will not be permitted to trade time with another employee to work the same period on the same scheduled day. The Captain or Assistant Fire Chief may specifically authorize exceptions to this restriction should the on-duty employee be required to leave work to attend to a verifiable personal emergency.
Section 7. Deviations from the provisions listed in this article shall be allowed only by special permission of the Assistant Fire Chief or his designee.
Section 8. Time trades shall not be permitted or used to extend an employee's date of separation from the City.
Section 0. Xx the event the employee working a time trade becomes sick before the workday starts, the employee originally scheduled to work shall be responsible for arranging a replacement to work his part of the time trade.

c. If an employee reports for duty on a time trade and the Officer in Charge (OIC) determines staff are able to be relieved from work, the employee on time trade will be eligible to request vacation leave using the same Institution process for relieving staff as any other employee on duty. Use of vacation leave under this Subsection shall not count as hours worked for the purpose of overtime calculation.
d. Time trade requests may not be changed unless agreed to by the Parties through submission of a new request.
e. Employees shall submit their trade requests seven (7) days in advance of the trade date. If a trade is denied a brief explanation shall be provided on the form which will then be returned to the employee.
f. All time trades shall be completed within a ninety (90) day time period.
g. The notification deadline and/or the completion period may be extended or reduced at individual functional units by mutual agreement between the local Union and the functional unit Manager via the labor/management meeting process.
h. Initial trial service employees are restricted from time trades the first six (6) months of employment. Emergent issues may be considered on a case by case basis by working with their Institution Staff Deployment and Institution Security management to secure the time off. This Subsection supersedes any other Provision in this Agreement on the subject of time trades for initial trial service employees. Assistant Superintendent of Security or designee, may reduce the minimum notification deadline or extend the completion period at their discretion and with the agreement of the affected employee.
Time Trades. If an employee, with the approval of the supervisor, and solely at the employee's option, agrees to substitute during scheduled work hours for another employee the hours the employee works as a substitute shall be excluded in the calculation of hours for which the employee is entitled to overtime. The division is permitted, but not required, to keep a record of the hours of the substitute work.
Time Trades. A. Time trade is defined as an employee voluntarily agreeing to work the requesting employee's normally scheduled work hours. The requesting employee shall then work the granting employee’s normally worked shift at a later, mutually agreed upon date. The employees participating in this time trade must be within the same division and of the same rank.
B. Time trades shall be allowed providing the employees notify and obtain advance approval of their supervisors of the time trade. Once agreed upon and approved, employees will be responsible for working the shift or hours they agreed to work. If an employee is unable to fulfill their time trade obligations, it is his/her responsibility to arrange for an approved employee to fill the shift. However, if the employee cannot fill the shift because of an emergency, they must notify the affected supervisor immediately.
C. Until a time trade has been approved by both supervisors, the employee who was originally scheduled to work the shift shall be responsible for working that shift.
D. Hours worked when an employee is working or scheduled to work a time trade shall not be considered in the calculation of overtime or compensatory time. Each employee will be credited as if he/she worked his/her normal work schedule.

Employees shall submit trade requests seven (7) days in advance of the trade date.
ii. If a trade is denied, a brief explanation shall be provided on the form which will then be returned to the employees.
iii. All time trades shall be completed within a thirty (30) day time period.
iv. Time trades shall not cause financial liability for the Institution. Both employees are responsible to ensure the time trade takes place as approved.
v. The employee who sought the time trade shall be responsible for time not traded.
