Additional Paid Holidays. In addition to the paid holidays specified herein, there shall be one (1) additional day of holiday granted by the University in each calendar year. The University reserves the right to schedule this holiday and written notice of the specific date will be given to the Union two (2) calendar weeks in advance. Additional Paid Holidays. For employees whose employment relationship started prior to 1 April 2003 the following regulation shall apply: For employees who are paid a pension due to an accident at work or war invalidity, the term of paid holidays shall be increased by 3 (three) working days. This provision shall also apply to individuals of equal status under the provisions of the Opferfürsorgegesetz (Victims Assistance Act) and for disabled persons under the Behinderteneinstellungsgesetz (BehEinstG; Disabled Persons Employment Act) suffering a degree of disability of at least 50% (fifty percent). Existing internal regulations shall remain valid and shall be credited.
Additional Paid Holidays. In the event that the Employer proclaims a day or part of a day as a holiday, all employees shall be entitled to equivalent benefits as set forth above.

Whenever school is closed on Good Friday, members of the bargaining unit shall have the day off with pay. If school is in session on Good Friday, the Holiday shall be considered as part of the Spring Break (i.e., 1 day) Whenever July 4th, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day fall on a Saturday, members of the bargaining unit shall have the day before off with pay, unless that day falls on a day when school is scheduled to be in session. In that event, the next regular workday following the weekend will be granted with pay. When this event happens and school is in session for one-half day, afternoon employees will report to work at 12:00 noon for their full shift. Whenever July 4th, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on a Sunday, members of the bargaining unit shall have the day after off with pay. If this section conflicts with scheduled school days, the Union and Board will meet to clarify schedules. However it is agreed that the clarification of schedules will not result in any loss of Holidays, and shall follow the stipulations set forth in Article VIII, Section 8.1.
Additional Paid Holidays. The Nurses shall receive one additional paid day for each additional holiday proclaimed by the Federal or Provincial Government.

Additional Paid Holidays. 14.01 Each regular full time employee who has had thirty (30) days’ continuous service with the Company and who has worked a minimum of twenty (20) days shall be entitled to one floating holiday with eight (8) hours’ regular pay. 14.02 Each regular full time employee who has had ninety (90) days’ continuous service with the Company and who has worked a minimum of sixty (60) days shall be entitled to a second additional floating holiday with eight (8) hours’ regular pay. 14.03 Each regular full time employee who has had one hundred and eighty (180) days’ continuous service with the Company and who has worked a minimum of one hundred and twenty (120) days shall be entitled to a third additional floating holiday with eight (8) hours’ regular pay. 14.04 Each regular full time employee who has had three hundred (300) days’ continuous service with the Company and who has worked a minimum of two hundred (200) days shall be entitled to a fourth additional floating holiday with eight (8) hours’ regular pay. 14.05 These holidays are to be taken at a time mutually agreed to by the Company and the Employee and without interruption of production during the currency of the year following the effective date of the Agreement, and in succeeding years during the year following the anniversary date. Requests for floaters will be made in writing to the plant manager at least seven (7) days prior to the requested absence. The plant manager will reply in writing within two (2) days of the request and provide the reason for any denial of request. (a) These holidays do not apply to those employees on official leave of absence, or who are absent from their work without permission, or who are absent without a bona fide reason on a scheduled working day preceding or the scheduled working day following such holiday. (b) An employee retiring on pension will be granted the full floating holiday entitlement in the year in which he retires. 14.07 Floating Holidays will be paid at the rate the employee received on the day worked prior to the holiday, or his regular card rate, whichever is greater.

  • PAID HOLIDAYS 12.01 The following days are recognized as holidays under this Agreement: New Year's Day Family Day Good Friday Easter Sunday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Boxing Day Christmas Day 12.02 Full-time employees required to work on a paid holiday shall have the option of either: (a) Pay at the rate of two times (2x) the employee's regular rate of pay for work performed on such holiday, in addition to the employee's regular pay, or (b) Pay at the rate of two times (2x) the employee's regular rate for work performed on such holiday and an alternate day off with pay at a time that is mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee. The alternate day off is to be taken within six (6) months after the holiday upon mutual agreement between the Employer and Employee. 12.03 If a paid holiday falls within a full-time employee’s normal schedule/rotation they shall have the option to either work the holiday with the appropriate pay or to request the holiday off, subject to operational requirements. Requests for the holiday off must be made prior to the work schedule being posted for that period. 12.04 In order to qualify for pay for a holiday, an employee shall complete her full shift on each of the scheduled working days immediately preceding and following the holiday concerned unless excused by the Employer or the employee was absent due to: (a) approved sick leave; (b) vacation granted by the Employer; (c) the employee's regular scheduled day off; (d) a paid leave of absence provided the employee is not otherwise compensated for the holiday. (a) Where a holiday falls on an employee's scheduled day off, an additional day off with pay will be scheduled at a mutually acceptable time. (b) Where a holiday falls during an employee's scheduled vacation period, her vacation shall be extended by one (1) day unless the employee and the Employer agree to schedule a different day off with pay. 12.06 A tour that begins or ends during the twenty-four (24) hour period of the above holidays, where the majority of hours worked falls within the holiday, shall be deemed to be work performed on the holiday for the full period of the tour.

  • DESIGNATED PAID HOLIDAYS Subject to clause the following days shall be designated paid holidays for employees:

  • Scheduled Holidays Holidays for certain employees, typically 24/7 facilities, are pre-scheduled on days other than the holidays mentioned in Section 1. This schedule is determined in advance. If employees who have their holiday pre-scheduled are required to work on that pre-scheduled holiday day, they are compensated as follows: a.) Cash overtime employees are paid for the number of holiday hours pre-scheduled plus payment at the rate of time and one-half for the number of hours actually worked. b.) Compensatory leave eligible employees are paid for the number of hours prescheduled plus credited with holiday compensatory time for the number of hours actually worked, which must be used within one (1) year after having accrued this time. This provision does not apply to an employee who is on leave without pay during the same pay period as the assigned holiday.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential and Cost of Living Adjustment, if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Additional Holidays Every day declared by the President or Governor of this State as a public fast, mourning, thanksgiving, or holiday, or any day declared a holiday by the Governing Board under current Education Code or its successors shall be paid holidays for all employees in the bargaining unit. Holidays will coincide with the Academic Calendar for each year.

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate. 9.3.2. A full-time employee who works other than a Monday through Friday schedule and who is not scheduled to work on a calendar holiday shall be given at the discretion of the Employer (1) another scheduled workday off with pay, or (2) an additional day's pay at his/her regular rate if funds are available.

  • Vacation, Sick Leave and Holidays Executive shall be entitled to four (4) weeks (28 business days) of vacation, and also sick leave and holidays at full pay in accordance with the Company’s policies established and in effect from time to time.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Designated Holidays A part-time employee shall not be paid for the designated holidays but shall, instead be paid four decimal two five percent (4.25%) for all straight-time hours worked.
