Union Activity Leave. The Union may request with the employee a leave of absence from County employment for Union leave. The Union’s request shall provide reasonable notice, the activity in which the employee will engage and the length of leave requested. The employee will remain on County payroll, on leave status. The County shall be reimbursed by the Union for the costs of the leave, including the costs of the benefits and any related administrative costs. The parties agree to discuss the cost specifics during the approval process. The immediate supervisor will be presented with the request as well as the Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources may grant or deny the requested leave. Prior to denying such leave, the Director shall meet, upon request, with the Union Representative to discuss the decision. The HR Director shall make a final determination on granting or denying the leave. Such decision by the County is final, is not subject to appeal, and may not be grieved. Only one employee covered by Agreement will be authorized to be on leave at any one time. Further, such leave may only be approved for a maximum period of six (6) months per employee, unless the parties mutually agree otherwise.
Union Activity Leave. The Employer agrees that any member of the Union employed by the Employer during the period of this Agreement who is elected to permanent office in the Union or is assigned by the Union to any Union activity necessitating leave of absence shall be granted such leave of absence and shall, at the end of the term in the first instance or at the end o f his mission in the second instance, be given reemployment athis former wage rate, plus any increase or less any reduction that may have become effective dur ing his absence. The maximum period o f absence permitted will be one (1) year.
Union Activity Leave. If an employee is designated by the Union to attend a convention of the National Union, COPE, the Canadian Labour Congress, or the New Democratic Party, on its behalf, the employer shall not make any deductions from the employee's wages for the period required for such attendance. The employer will not unreasonably withhold approval for the employee who is designated by the union.
Union Activity Leave. The School District will provide reasonable time off to elected/appointed officials of the ACA for the purpose of conducting the business of the ACA. Arrangements for such time will be made by written request of the ACA President and with the approval of the Superintendent. Such leave time will be without compensation by the school district.
Union Activity Leave. (a) If an employee is designated by the Union to attend a convention of the National Union, COPE, the Canadian Labour Congress, or the New Democratic Party, on its behalf, the employer shall not make any deductions from the employee's wages for the period required for such attendance.
(b) The employer shall, at their discretion, grant a leave of absence without pay for a specified period, not to exceed one year, and with continuing seniority in the event of the employee requesting this leave to work for the National Union, the Local Union, or for the Ontario Federation of Labour outside of this bargaining unit, provided the employer has received one month's written notice. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Union Activity Leave a) WSN will grant an unpaid leave of absence to an Employee to attend union conventions and conferences provided such leave does not interfere with the operation of WSN. Such request must be received by the Chief Executive Officer or designate thirty (30) calendar days prior to leave.
b) The Employer shall, grant a leave of absence without pay for a specified period not to exceed one (1) year, and with continuing seniority in the event of the Employee requesting this leave to work for the National Union, the local union, the Ontario Federation of Labour, or the Canadian Labour Congress. Such requests must be in writing and must be received by the Chief Executive Officer ninety (90) calendar days prior to leave.
Union Activity Leave a) Any member of the bargaining unit who is attending Union activities, shall upon making the request in writing six (6) weeks in advance and subject to operational requirements, be granted a leave of absence without pay. The maximum time off for Union activities shall not exceed thirty (30) working days per calendar year and no more than two (2) employees may be absent from scheduled work at any one time, provided that the two (2) employees are from different classifications. At the Toronto Centre, no more than three (3) employees may be absent from scheduled work at any one time and no more than one (1) may be from the same classification, unless otherwise agreed by the Employer.
Union Activity Leave. 1. The four (4) members of the Union Negotiating Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for all meetings between the Board and the Union for the purpose of negotiating the terms of the Agreement when such meetings take place at a time during which such members are scheduled to be on duty.
2. One member of the Union Grievance Committee and the grievant shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for all meetings between the Board and the Union for the purpose of processing grievances through arbitration when such meetings take place at a time during which such members are scheduled to be on duty.
Union Activity Leave. 17.1 The Employer agrees to consider, but is not obligated to grant, requests for an unpaid leave of absence to conduct union business. If granted, the duration and terms of the leave of absence will be put into writing, sent to the Union and placed in the Employees personnel file.
Union Activity Leave. (a) If an employee is designated by the Union to attend a convention of the Canadian Office & Professional Employees Union, or is a delegate from Local 343 COPE to the Ontario Federation of Labour or the Canadian Labour Congress, the Employer shall not make any deduction from the employee's wages for the period required for such attendance.
(b) The Employer shall, at its discretion, grant a leave of absence without pay or benefits for a specified period not to exceed one (1) year, and with continuing seniority in the event of a regular employee requesting this leave to work for the International Union, the local union, the Ontario Federation of Labour, or the Canadian Labour Congress outside of this bargaining unit. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.
