Union Office Leave. An employee elected or appointed to a paid full-time position within the Union shall be granted up to one (1) year off, without pay and without loss of seniority.

Union Office Leave. Employees who are selected by the Union for Executive positions within the Union that requires them to leave the service of the Corporation as Permanent Employees, shall be given the opportunity to arrange a leave, without pay, from the Corporation not exceeding four (4) years duration, and should such employees wish at the end of such leave of absence to return to the Corporation as Permanent Employees, the Corporation shall, where possible, return them to the positions held prior to such leave. In the event that the positions have become redundant and/or the technology of the positions have changed, the employees shall be offered comparable employment, within the area, for which they are qualified. In order to retain coverage under the Corporation's benefits in accordance with Article 42 and 44, with the exception of LTD, the employees will be required to pay the premium in whole for the period of their absence. They shall retain and accrue seniority with the Corporation as if they had been continuously employed.
Union Office Leave. 1. The Company will grant the Plant Committee and any of the following members selected or elected to the Union's local amalgamated executive (President - Vice President - Financial Secretary - Recording Secretary) a leave of absence to do temporary work for the Union or to attend Union Committee or other Union business. The Company further agrees any employee selected or elected to the above executive positions will be on a day shift only at the request of the Unifor National Union. It is further understood the Union will notify the Company of Union Leave of Absences at least two days prior to the leave request date.
Union Office Leave. An employee who has been elected, appointed, or otherwise selected to a full- time position with the Union shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay for the period during which she is elected, appointed or otherwise selected to hold the position. Such leave of absence not to exceed one year. Where an employee ceases to hold such office, she shall be entitled to return to her former position. Such employee must give the Employer at least one (1) month's written notice of her intention to take a Union office leave. No more than one (1) employee of the Employer may take the Union office leave at the same time. Such employee shall not be subject to any disciplinary action on the part of the Employer for activities related to her duties on behalf of the Union during her period of absence.
Union Office Leave. An employee's election as an officer or member of the Executive Board of the Union or appointment to act on Union business shall be considered a good and sufficient reason for a leave of absence. Any employee elected or appointed a full-time position in the union shall be given a leave of absence for the duration of their term of office, which period may be extended upon submittal of written request. Upon return from such leave of absence, the employee shall be reinstated without loss of seniority at the current rate of pay or any other benefits entitled to, but not during the period of absence except as stated elsewhere in this Agreement.
Union Office Leave. Leave of absence without pay for the purpose of holding full-time office in the Union or the International Union for a period not to exceed one (1) year shall be granted to no more than one (1) employee at any one time, provided the Board is given at least fourteen (14) calendar days advance notice of such request for leave. Such leave may be extended for additional one (1) year periods by mutual agreement of the Board and the Union.
Union Office Leave. Upon four (4) weeks’ notice, employees may request for and may be granted an unpaid Leave of Absence for up to two (2) years to serve in an official office of the Union to which they are properly elected or appointed. Permission to take such a Leave of Absence will not be unreasonably withheld; however, there may be no more than two (2) employees on such Leave of Absence at any time. Employees may also request and may be granted a short-term unpaid leave of absence for up to five (5) consecutive days upon a five (5) days’ notice.

Union Office Leave. Any employee in the bargaining unit elected or appointed to full-time office in the Union whose duties require his/her absence from his/her work shall be granted an unpaid leave of absence for the term of such office and shall accumulate seniority during his/her term of office and at the end of such term shall be entitled to resume his/her regular seniority status and all job and recall rights.
