UNION SECURITY AND PAYROLL DEDUCTION. Section One. During the life of this Agreement, an employee retains the freedom of choice whether or not to become or remain a member of the Union, which has been designated as the exclusive bargaining agent.
UNION SECURITY AND PAYROLL DEDUCTION. SECTION ONE.
(A) Employees who join the Union shall pay dues and initiation fees (if applicable) in accordance with the terms of this Article.
(B) Employees who do not join the Union shall pay Agency fees in accordance with the terms of this Article.
UNION SECURITY AND PAYROLL DEDUCTION. Section 1. Employees who have completed their probationary period shall, as a condition of employment, either become members of the SEIU, Local 200 United, or pay an agency fee equivalent to the uniform monthly dues and fees required of Union members.
Section 2. The District shall deduct from bargaining unit employees' pay, on a biweekly basis, monthly dues (pro-rated on a bi-weekly basis) or agency shop fees. Requests for the deduction of dues and other fees must be signed by an employee on the form annexed hereto as Appendix A.
Section 3. Upon receipt by the District of an employee's signed authorization, the District will deduct bi-weekly from the employee’s pay the monies specified in section 2 and remit same together with a list of the names of employees from whose earnings the deductions were made to SEIU, Local 200 United, Service Employees International Union (SEIU) on or before the 15th day of each month following the month in which deductions were made. The District agrees to notify the Union of the reason that an employee’s name does not appear on the check- off list submitted by the District (i.e., terminated, retired, etc.) The District agrees to notify the Union of the reason that an employee’s name does not appear on the check-off list submitted by the District (i.e. terminated, retired, etc.).
Section 4. The Union shall by December 1st of each year certify in writing and submit to the Employer the amount of regular monthly dues to be deducted.
Section 5. Effective October 1st of each calendar year the Employer will supply to the Union a complete list of bargaining unit employees including their date of hire, classification and address.
Section 6. The Union shall indemnify and save the District harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability that shall arise out of, or by reason of action taken or not taken by the District for the purpose of furnishing any list or complying with any notice or assignment furnished under any provision of this Agreement. The Union shall also indemnify and save the District harmless with respect to any disputes between the SEIU, Local 200 United and any employee covered by the Agreement, in which the District becomes a party.
Section 7. The District, upon written authorization from the employee, shall supply the necessary forms and make the necessary deductions for First Source Federal Credit Union.

Section 2.1 The Board agrees to deduct from the salaries of an employee the membership dues for the Union when (and for as long as) such employee individually and voluntarily authorizes the Board to do so, in accordance with the law. The Board acknowledges that Union dues are between the Union and its members. If a member comes to the Board asking to stop such dues; the Board will direct the member to the Union President.
Section 2.2 The amount to be deducted will be specified in writing from and certified by a Council 4 Representative prior to the commencement of this Agreement and prior to the opening of school each year; said amount may be increased or decreased at any time with a thirty (30) day written notice prior to the effective date of any change by said Union Representative to the Board.
Section 2.3 Deductions as provided above shall be remitted to Council 4 office of the Union not later than thirty (30) days after such deductions have been made, along with initial list of the employees from whom the deductions have been made. Thereafter, the Union will be informed in writing on a monthly basis of additions or deletions from the list.
Section 2.4 The Union agrees to indemnify and to hold the Board and its agents harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits, liabilities, litigation, counsel fees and other claims or costs arising from any action taken by the Board and its agents for the purpose of complying with the provisions of this Article.
UNION SECURITY AND PAYROLL DEDUCTION. 2. 01000 New employees, 90 calendar days after being employed shall sign and deliver to the Board either an assignment authorizing deduction of Union membership dues, or a representation fee equal to the non-member's proportionate share of the cost of negotiating and administering this Agreement. Such authorization shall continue in effect, unless subsequent to June 1st and prior to September 15th of any year it is formally revoked by the employee, in writing, and copies thereof are delivered to the Union and the Board. It is expressly understood that the Board need honor only one authorization form per year per employee. Employees working less than 10 hours per week will be exempt. Any employee who is two (2) months in arrears with the Union dues or representation fee shall be discharged upon written notice from Union to the Employer pursuant to Section 2.08000 herein.
2. 02000 During the term of this Agreement, the Employer agrees to deduct once each month current Union membership dues or representation fee from the pay of those employees who individually request in writing that such deductions be made. The amount to be deducted shall be certified to the Employer by the Treasurer of the Union once per year on or before September 15 and the total of the aggregate deductions of all employees who have authorized such deductions shall be remitted to the Treasurer during the current month for which such deductions are made.
2. 03000 An employee desiring to be a Union member shall, at the end of the probationary period, pay to the Chief Xxxxxxx the specified initiation fee. Any employee who fails to pay either the Union dues or the representation fee shall be terminated pursuant to Section 2.08000 herein.

Each bargaining unit member shall, as a condition of employment, on or before the 31st day following the beginning of employment or thirty-one (31) days from the time this Agreement is effective, whichever is later, either join the Union as a dues-paying member or pay a service fee to the Union in an amount equal to the dues uniformly required of Union members. Bargaining unit members may authorize payroll deduction for the payment of their dues or fees. In the event a bargaining unit members does not pay his or her service fee directly to the Union or authorize payment through payroll deduction, the Employer shall, pursuant to MCL 408.477, and at the request of the Union, deduct the service fee from the bargaining unit member’s wages and remit same to the Union. All dues and fees deducted by the Employer shall be without charge to the Union and shall be promptly remitted to the Union. The Union assumes full responsibility for the disposition of the deductions so made once they have been sent to the Union.
Section 2. In the event of any legal action against the Employer brought because of its compliance with this Article, the Union agrees to defend such action at its own expense and through its own counsel provided the Employer gives timely notice of such action and gives its full cooperation to the Union in the defense of such action. The Union agrees that in any action so defended, it will indemnify and hold harmless the Employer from any liability for damages and costs imposed by settlement agreed to by the Union or by a final judgment of a court or administrative agency.

All employees in the bargaining unit shall, as a condition of employment, become a member of the Union in good standing or pay a service fee to the Union after the completion of a satisfactory probationary period. The service fee shall be proportioned by the Union as required by law.

UNION SECURITY AND PAYROLL DEDUCTION. 4.1 Membership or non-membership in the Union shall be the individual choice of employees covered by this Agreement. The Union shall be the holder of all records regarding employee membership status in the Union and any disputes about employee membership status shall be resolved by the Union. The City will deduct from a Union member's pay and remit monthly to the Business Manager of IBEW Local 125 the normal and usual dues, fees, and assessments uniformly required of its members. The Union will notify the City in writing of the monthly amount of Union dues, fees, and assessments. Employees who are not members of the Union may voluntarily agree to pay representation fees to the Union as specified in a written payroll deduction authorization between the Union and the employee.
4.2 Any employee who is a member of the Union or who has applied for membership, shall sign and deliver to the Union, who shall forward to the City, a written payroll deduction authorization authorizing and consenting to the deduction of dues, fees, costs, charges, and assessments for membership in the Union. The Union shall also forward to the City the written payroll deduction authorization of any Employee who is not a member of the Union but who has voluntarily agreed to pay representation fees to the Union. A written payroll deduction authorization may be revoked or changed only in the manner and at the time specified in the authorization. The City will adhere to all provisions in the written authorizations discussed above.
4.3 The Union will indemnify, defend, and hold the City harmless against any claims made and against any suit instituted against the City as a result of any action taken pursuant to the provisions of Sections 4.1 and 4.
