Bargaining Unit Leave. A leave of absence shall be given for up to sixty (60) days for Branch/Executive Federation business as approved by the Bargaining Unit Executive. The cost of a supply teacher, if necessary, is to be charged to District 10, OSSTF.
Bargaining Unit Leave. The President of the Bargaining Unit, or designate, shall be entitled to thirty (30) days per school year to attend to union business. Such days shall be without loss of pay, seniority or benefits. The President of the Bargaining Unit, or designate, shall notify the Manager of Employee Relations & Staffing (Admin. & Support Staff) and the employee’s immediate supervisor at least two (2) days in advance of such leave being taken.
Bargaining Unit Leave. (a) The Centre shall pay the Bargaining Unit President 7.5 hours salary each month. This salary is in lieu of all time spent attending meetings with the Centre including all committees mandated by the Collective Agreement and time spent preparing for these committee meetings and for investigating and/or processing grievances. In addition, the Bargaining Unit President may request up to an additional 15 hours leave of absence per month paid by the Centre to attend to local union issues. Such requests will not be unreasonably denied. It is understood that the above leave is separate from all other Union Business leaves as per Article 11 of the Collective Agreement.
Bargaining Unit Leave. Similarly, subject to advance notice and supervisory approval, an employee may assume an interim position outside of the bargaining unit but within the Swedish Medical Center. An employee that assumes an interim position with the Employer outside of the bargaining unit may do so for up to twelve (12) months in length. Employees returning from this leave within twelve (12) weeks will be guaranteed their same positions. Employees returning from this leave after twelve (12) weeks will be eligible for the next open position, for which they are qualified, based on seniority.

Bargaining Unit Leave. Employees will be allowed a total of three (3) Bargaining Unit Leave days during each calendar year in accordance with the provisions of this Article. Bargaining Unit Leave Days may not be accumulated from year to year. Such Bargaining Unit Leave Days may only be used for the following events:
A. AFSCME Ohio Educational Conference
B. AFSCME Ohio Council 8 Convention
C. AFSCME International Convention
Bargaining Unit Leave. The Board agrees to provide up to two (2) FTE Leaves per year to the Bargaining Unit for Federation business. The WRDECE Local Officers shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of the Collective Agreement, including but not limited to full salary including allowances, benefits, experience and sick leave, and the time spent on Bargaining Unit Leave shall be deemed to be time worked. The Bargaining Unit shall reimburse the Board for the replacement DECE(s) at the rate of one salary at Step 2 for each one (1.0) FTE leave. Additionally, the Bargaining Unit must reimburse the cost of all statutory deductions and benefit costs, including, but not necessarily limited to EI, CPP, EHT, WSIB, VACATION PAY, OMERS and ELHT. During such leaves, all absences related to entitlements in the Collective Agreement, i.e. sick leave, personal days etc., must be entered into the Board’s automated calling system. Additional days of Bargaining Unit leave may be granted for up to five (5) members of the WRDECE Local union executive to attend Executive meetings to an aggregate maximum of eighty (80) days not inclusive of days for the purpose of collective agreement bargaining. The Bargaining Unit shall reimburse the Board the cost of salaries and benefits of the Executive Officer, Officers, and Collective Bargaining Committee days including, but not necessarily limited to EI, CPP, EHT, WSIB, VACATION PAY, OMERS and ELHT. The WRDECE shall not be billed for the release that does not occur.
Bargaining Unit Leave a) The School Board shall grant leaves of absence to no more than three (3) teachers to perform official Bargaining Unit business provided that the Bargaining Unit submits a written request for the said leaves on or before May 25th of the preceding school year. The leaves of absence may change from year to year based on internal needs but each teacher released to perform official Bargaining Unit business shall either be a 1.00 of full time or 0.50 of full time leave of absence. To assist with staffing the Bargaining Unit shall endeavour to give the Board informal notice of the teachers who might be applying for Bargaining Unit leave as soon as practicable.
b) Bargaining Unit leave shall be granted without prejudice and without loss of benefits or seniority.
c) A teacher shall take a 1.0 of full-time leave of absence or a 0.50 of full time leave of absence, whichever is applicable, from a co-ordinator, organizational unit head or SPAT position for the duration of the Bargaining Unit Leave.
d) The terms of a teacher’s leave of absence, if half time (0.5), shall be mutually agreed between the Bargaining Unit and the applicable Principal or supervisory officer, if applicable.
e) During the Bargaining Unit Leave, the Board shall pay to the said teachers their grid salary; shall pay to the said teachers any applicable allowances for co- ordinator, organizational unit head or SPAT positions; and shall pay on behalf of the said teachers the Board’s share of the benefit premiums to which the said teachers would be entitled if the said teachers were not on Bargaining Unit Leave.
f) OECTA shall reimburse the Board for the total cost of the grid salary paid to the said teachers; any applicable allowances for co-ordinator, organizational unit head or SPAT positions paid to the said teachers; and the Board’s share of benefit premiums paid on behalf of the said teachers for the period of time the said teachers are on Bargaining Unit Leave.
g) Time taken on Bargaining Unit Leave shall be considered teaching time for the purposes of the teacher's experience and seniority.
h) Upon return from Bargaining Unit Leave, the Board will endeavour to reassign the teachers to the former teaching positions held or to a teaching position within the same family of schools subject to the redundancy provisions of the Agreement (Article 22
