Carry-Over of Annual Leave. (a) An employee who wishes to defer a maximum of five (5) days’ annual vacation to the following fiscal year shall inform his or her superior thereof in writing. With the exception of the situations provided for in paragraphs 19.10 (b) and (c), an employee may not, at any time during the fiscal year, bank more annual leave than his or her basic allotted leave for that year, plus five (5) days.
(b) Carried-over vacation leave, when the Employer has refused during the year the employee's request or requests and has not been able to grant them at another time because of operational requirements, should be taken during the following fiscal year.
(c) An employee who is unable to take any or all of his or her vacation days by the end of the fiscal year due to an authorized absence from work (e.g. long-term disability, maternity or parental leave, workplace accident, etc.) or for any other reason that the Employer deems to be exceptional may, by agreement with the Human Resources Division, defer more than the five (5) vacation days allowed under paragraph (a). It is agreed that in applying this provision, the employee and supervisor shall make a reasonable effort, subject to operational requirements, to ensure that the employee is able to take as much vacation as possible by the end of the current fiscal year. Exceptionally, and only after obtaining the permission of the Human Resources Division, in lieu of annual vacation that he or she was unable to take due to an extended absence from work, an employee may receive compensation corresponding to his or her regular pay multiplied by the number of hours of vacation remaining to be taken by the end of the fiscal year.
(d) Deferred vacation days shall be paid at the rate in effect at the time they are taken.
Carry-Over of Annual Leave. Where, in any vacation year, an employee has not been granted all the vacation leave credited to him, the unused portion of his vacation leave shall be carried over.
Carry-Over of Annual Leave. Upon a written request submitted before October 1st of the current year, an Employee shall be granted up to one week carry over of his Annual Vacation Leave provided that previous carry overs have been liquidated.
Carry-Over of Annual Leave. Employees are entitled to carry forward unused annual leave, accumulative to a maximum of twelve (12) working shifts. By May 1, if a member knows that he may have more than twelve (12) shifts of annual leave by the end of the fiscal year, and said employee has not been out of work for an extended period of time due to illness or injury, he may request permission from the Chief to carry over more than twelve (12) shifts and explain his reason for the carry-over request. The Chief shall have the sole and absolute discretion to grant or deny such request, and the Chief's decision shall not be subject to the grievance procedure of this Agreement. However, more than twelve (12) shifts may be carried over where an illness or injury makes it impractical for the employee to utilize their vacation time by the end of the fiscal year.
Carry-Over of Annual Leave a. Upon a written request submitted before December 1, of the current year, and Employee shall be granted one (1) week carry-over of his/her annual vacation leave, liquidated.
b. If, at the end of a calendar year, an Employee's entitlement to vacation leave with pay includes a fractional entitlement of less or more than one-half (1/2) day, the entitlement shall be increased to the nearest half day.
19.01 Eligibility

Carry-Over of Annual Leave.
(a) No payments will be made in lieu of annual leave with exception of employee separation.
(b) An employee is permitted to carry over a maximum of thirty (30) annual leave days or 240 hours into any new anniversary year. Any additional annual leave in excess of the maximum will be forfeited if not used by the employee’s anniversary date.
Carry-Over of Annual Leave. No unit employee may have credited to their account on June 30 more than the number of hours of vacation leave which were earned during the fiscal year just completed.
Carry-Over of Annual Leave. A. It is the intent of these rules to have employees take their annual leave yearly for the period in which it was earned. Employees will be afforded the opportunity to use the annual leave before the leave is carried over to the next year.
B. An employee shall not be paid for earned annual leave in lieu of taking such leave during any calendar year unless recommended by the Assistant County Administrator/department/division director and approved by the County Administrator or designee.
C. The maximum amount of annual leave which can be carried over from one calendar year to the next is 500 Hours Part-Time Employees In Proportion to the Ratio of Hours Worked Per Week Divided by 40 Hours
Carry-Over of Annual Leave a. No unit employee may have credited to their account on June 30 more than the number of hours of vacation leave which were earned during the fiscal year just completed.
b. If an employee has not scheduled sufficient vacation to meet 6.a. above, the District may, during the last six months of the fiscal year, direct the times at which the vacation will be taken.
c. The District may, based upon extraordinary circumstances, approve a written request to carry- over a large number of hours. Any such request must be approved in advance by the Superintendent and shall include a statement of the extraordinary circumstances and a plan, which will liquidate the excess in the coming fiscal year.
