Deferred Vacation. (a) (Deleted 1-1-09)
(b) If an employee forgoes any part of his/her vacation the Company shall pay for the time worked and, in addition, shall pay a vacation pay allowance, provided, however, that in no event shall an employee be permitted at his/her option to forego vacation for the purpose of receiving vacation pay allowance in addition to pay for time worked. Time worked in lieu of time off for vacation shall not be considered overtime as such but shall be compensated at the rates of pay applicable to the work performed. (Amended 1-1-91)
Deferred Vacation. A Regular Employee who is entitled to annual vacation may opt to defer the taking of any number of working days over and above twenty (20) working days of such annual vacation in any year PROVIDED HOWEVER THAT the maximum deferred vacation which an employee may accumulate at any one time shall be twenty-two (22) working days in the case of Librarians and shall be twenty (20) working days in the case of all other Regular Employees.
Deferred Vacation. There shall be no right of postponement or accumulation of vacation, but, subject to the discretion of the Employer and the continuity of essential services within the department concerned, a maximum of one week (5 working days) vacation may be deferred at the Employee's request to the following vacation year. The maximum carry over of five (5) vacation days does not apply when an Employee is commencing a pregnancy leave. By mutual agreement with the department head she may carry up to one (1) year’s vacation entitlement.
Deferred Vacation. An employee may defer his/her vacation only until the end of the following vacation period. Any employee who is unable to take any deferred vacation due to occupational or non-occupational disability will be paid for any unused portion thereof. Deferred vacation from the previous year that is not used will be paid.

Requests to participate in the program shall be submitted to the Company prior to November 30th of each calendar year. Banked vacation shall be credited to the employee’s account January 1st of each year.
(1) An employee may elect to bank up to one half (1/2) of their annual earned vacation up to a maximum of twelve (12) weeks (i.e., 60 workdays).
(2) A participating employee can, following two (2) years from initiating participation, use up to two (2) weeks of banked vacation during a calendar year (begins January 1 of each year). Such use will be with prior approval of Human Resources and the employee’s supervisor and is subject to scheduling by vacation policies. In a case of extreme hardship or medical emergency, more than two (2) weeks of banked vacation may be used if all of the current year’s vacation and all deferred vacation have been used, and with approval from the Manager of Human Resources.
(3) Vacation hours banked at the time of an employee’s separation from the Company will be paid to the employee upon separation. Separation shall be defined as when an employee is laid off, released, resigns, retires, or dies.
(4) All vacation hours banked will be paid out at the employee’s hourly rate of pay as of the date of use or of his/her separation from the Company.
(5) The Vacation Banking Program is not to be construed as an ERISA plan, and all payments will be made out of the general assets of the Company. At the end of a calendar year, any unused vacation from that calendar year that is not banked will automatically be deferred. Deferred vacation from the previous year that is not used or banked will be lost.
Deferred Vacation. An employee who is entitled to annual vacation of twenty‐five (25) working days or more in any year:
(1) shall take at least twenty (20) working days of such annual vacation during the year in which it is earned, and
(2) may defer the taking of any part of such annual vacation in excess of twenty (20) working days; provided however that the maximum deferred vacation which an employee may accumulate at any one time shall be twenty (20) working days. When an employee’s deferred vacation reaches the maximum and the employee has unused vacation in a calendar year, the Employer may, at its discretion, pay out the unused vacation for that year. Where an employee defers vacation, the calculation required in Article 12(p) shall be done as if the employee had taken their full vacation that year.
Deferred Vacation. (1) A Regular Full-Time Employee who is entitled to annual vacation of twenty (20) working days or more in any year:
(i) shall take at least fifteen (15) working days of such annual vacation during the year in which the employee earned such vacation; and
(ii) may defer the taking of any part of such annual vacation in excess of fifteen (15) working days; The maximum deferred vacation which an employee may accumulate at any one time pursuant to this Clause shall be twenty (20) working days.
(i) Employees wishing to defer a portion of their vacation as outlined in (1)(ii) above, must notify their Department Head on or before February 1st;
(ii) Employees wishing to take their deferred vacation along with their regular scheduled vacation must notify their Department Head prior to February 1st in the year they wish to take such vacation.
(3) Regular Part-Time Employees whose vacation entitlement allows for four (4) weeks of prorated vacation or more, shall be eligible to defer one (1) week of their prorated entitlement per year to a maximum of four
(4) prorated weeks in accordance with conditions set out above.

Deferred Vacation. 12.05.01 A member’s unused vacation entitlement from one year shall be deferred and added to the member’s vacation entitlement in subsequent years to a maximum of 5 weeks.
Deferred Vacation. An employee with 23 years of service or less may defer up to eighty (80) hours of vacation entitlement from year-to-year into a "deferral bank," however, the "deferral bank" cannot exceed a maximum of eighty (80) hours. An employee with 24 years of service or more may defer up to one half (1/2) of his vacation entitlement from year-to- year into a "deferral bank," however, the "deferral bank" cannot exceed a maximum of one hundred (100) hours. Such "deferral bank" vacation entitlement is subject to the same scheduling criteria as regular vacation entitlement in accordance with Section 7 below.
