Community Leave. A teacher shall be granted leave with salary, one (1) day per school year, to participate in community service. Community service is defined as: teachers taking a leading part in a community service who need to attend important functions connected with that activity. A sports activity, where the teacher is a participant, is not considered a community service.
Community Leave. 47.1 Entitlement to be absent from employment for engaging in eligible community service activity (a) the period consists of one or more of the following: (i) time when the employee engages in the activity; (ii) reasonable travelling time associated with the activity; (iii) reasonable rest time immediately following the activity; and (b) unless the activity is jury service—the employee’s absence is reasonable in all the circumstances.

Community Leave. Employees will be allowed leave to serve in elected or volunteer positions in the community for up to 6 days a year. Elected positions may be negotiated for more than 6 days at the discretion of the superintendent.
Community Leave. 32.1 Community leave may be granted to Staff (excluding casuals) in accordance with University guidelines to enable them to perform a service to the community. 32.2 This leave applies only to activities that are: (a) not regarded as duty; (b) not covered by other forms of available leave. 32.3 The length of leave granted will vary depending upon the circumstances, in accordance with the conditions and eligibility outlined below. In each circumstance, the leave is to be limited to the minimum time necessary. 32.4 Community leave may be taken for: (a) Living Organ Donation For the duration of the Federal Government’s Living Organ Donors Scheme, the provisions of this sub-clause will apply. A Staff Member must notify their Supervisor as soon as possible of their intention to donate a kidney or partial liver and will provide supporting medical documentation from their medical practitioner. Where a medical practitioner confirms a Staff Member is able to proceed with the donation surgery, the University will: (i) regard the Staff Member as being on authorised absence from duty during the period required to undergo and recover from surgery for a period of up to 6 weeks; and (ii) make payments equivalent to the difference between any payments received from the Federal Government (under the Federal Government’s Living Organ Donor Scheme) and the Staff Member’s Base Salary, for a period of up to 6 weeks. (b) Jury Service A Staff Member who is summoned as a prospective juror must notify their Supervisor as soon as possible of the date/s when they are required to attend for jury service. (i) The Staff Member must provide proof of attendance, duration, and financial reimbursement received. Any amounts received for attendance (other than meal and/or travel allowances) are to be paid to the University. (ii) Leave will be paid upon the University receiving proof of attendance and reimbursement of monies received. (c) Attendance as a Witness A Staff Member who is required to attend proceedings as a witness will be regarded as being on duty during their period of absence if: (i) required as a Crown Witness. Xxxx received, other than out of pocket expenses, will be paid to the University; (ii) required as a witness on behalf of the University or as a witness in proceedings relating to a University Award or Agreement. No fees will be paid. Other than above, a Staff Member summoned or called as a witness is required to take annual leave or make alternative working arrangements...

Community Leave. (a) Permanent Associates shall be entitled for up to two weeks Community Leave per year if they are a member of recognised voluntary services including the Defence Force Reserve, SES or Fire Fighting. (b) If a member of the Defence Force Reserves, this leave is for the purposes of attending approved training camps. If a member of any other recognised voluntary service the purpose of this Leave is to attend Emergency situations. (c) To receive payment the Associate will provide the Company proof of attendance at the emergency situation or proof of pay for the Leave. Defence Force Reserve Rate of Pay and total payment received for the time spent in training. The Company will reimburse the Associate the difference between the amount received for Defence Leave and the Associate’s ordinary rate of pay. (d) Permanent Associates who are a member of more than one recognised voluntary service will be eligible for 2 weeks Leave for the purposes of each of these Community Services.

Up to five days paid leave is available for a staff member who is selected and participates as a national representative in international amateur sport. Up to three days is available for a staff member who is selected and participates as a state representative in national or interstate major amateur sport. b. Blood donation c. Two weeks leave is available for military leave for attendance at defence forces reserve training programs or courses. Further leave is available on written certification of its necessity by the staff member’s commanding officer. The staff member must provide evidence of necessity to attend together with certificate of attendance and any details of pay received. The staff member will receive differential pay for all military leave periods. d. Paid or unpaid leave is available to a staff member who is a member of a voluntary service organisation for the period in which services are required. The staff member must be a member of the voluntary service and provide a certificate of attendance in order to access paid leave.

(d) Team members seeking to take Defence Force Reserve Leave must provide notice to Bunnings at least one month prior to the period of training. The notice should detail the start and finish dates for training.
