Custodial Personnel. Hours of work shall be forty (40) hours in a week. The daily and weekly schedules shall be established by management. Employees will receive two fifteen minute breaks --one in the first half of the shift and one in the second half of the shift in accordance with Public Works Policy #6. There will be no break from work for lunch. Lunch may be eaten "on the fly”; work in progress will not stop while lunch is eaten.
Custodial Personnel. With regard to custodial personnel only, overtime at a job site shall first be offered to support employees assigned at the job site, by seniority and qualifications. If a support employee at the job site declines to work the offered overtime, then the support employee shall not be entitled to work overtime (unless specifically required to do so by his supervisor) for a period of twenty (20) calendar days from the date of the offered overtime. If no support employee at the job site accepts the offered overtime, then the overtime will be offered district-wide based on seniority and qualifications to those persons who have signed the overtime list which will be maintained by Plant Operations. If a support employee on the district-wide list declines to work the offered overtime, then the support employee shall not be entitled to work overtime (unless specifically required to do so by his supervisor) for a period of twenty (20) calendar days from the date of the offered overtime.
Custodial Personnel. Effective with the 2010-2011 contract year, there will be three (3) classifications of custodial personnel: Head Custodian, Custodian III, and Custodian II/Cleaner.

Where substantial work is involved any violation of this paragraph shall be grievable. 3. Custodians’ uniforms will be provided and laundered. The School District will provide two (2) uniforms each school year.
Custodial Personnel. 1. Custodians shall be assigned eight (8) hour shifts according to the needs of the system. The total workday shall be eight and one-quarter hours (8 ¼). Effective July 1, 1994, the full- time Custodial work week may be scheduled Monday through Friday, Tuesday through Saturday, or Sunday through Thursday. Custodial employees hired prior to December 31, 1993 shall not be required to work the Tuesday through Saturday or the Sunday through Thursday work weeks. Said employees may volunteer for said shifts should they desire to do so. The workday on Saturday and/or Sunday shall be a 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. workday. Overtime rates shall not be paid to employees for Saturday or Sunday if said days are part of their regularly scheduled work week. 2. a. Custodians may leave the building during their thirty (30) minute lunch break which shall be scheduled within the workday outlined in C.1. above. If any custodian is required to remain in the building during his/her full lunch break by the administration, he/she shall be entitled to fifteen (15) minutes of additional pay, which may be overtime, as appropriate.

Once an employee has been so assigned, he/she will not be assigned again until all other employees have been assigned to an assignment based on reverse seniority. b. Nothing herein is to preclude the right of the Board to assign a specific employee to an assignment if a special skill or qualification is necessary.

A custodian will be on duty in the school’s gymnasiums for any activity where admission is charged. 6. Custodians shall be paid at time and one-half (1-1/2) at Step 20 when working to cover an outside group’s activity in a District facility.
