Educatio n Leave. If by the Hospital, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade h i s or her employment qualifications. A leave of absence without pay, to take further educa- t i o n related to the employee's work with the Hospital may be granted upon written application by t h e employee to the administration of the Hospital. It is further understood and agreed that the Hospital w i l l , wherever its operational requirements permit, endeavour to arrange the s h i f t s of employees attending courses or seminars to permit such attendance. Where employees are required by the Hospital to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment cations, the Hospital shall pay the f u l l costs associ- ated with the courses.

Educatio n Leave. An employee may granted with pay for the purpose of taking continuing education where such education is required i n order to maintain the professional status; and, where the maintenance of such status is required by the Employer and where such education cannot be taken outside working hours, such permission shall not be unnecessarily withheld. Educatio n Leave. An employee who is upgrading employment qualifications through an Employer approved upgrading course s h a l l be entitled t o leave of absence without l o s s of pay and benefits t o write examinations required by such course.
