Educational Leave and Assistance. (a) Requests for educational assistance will only be considered from regular employees who have completed their probationary period. (b) The Employer may grant educational assistance in the form of leave (with or without pay), tuition fees, expenses and/or any other monetary aid, for education programs, courses, workshops and/or seminars. At no time, however, will the amount paid in salary together with any additional funding in the form of scholarships, bursaries, grants, etc., exceed one hundred percent (100%) of the employee’s normal basic salary. This is exclusive of tuition fees and other expenses which may be paid or shared by the Employer and of monies paid to the employee to provide for additional expenses for approved research or relevant courses. (c) The duration of education leave granted to employees to take advanced or special training beneficial to both the Employer and the employee, may be for varying periods of up to one (1) year. Under special circumstances, this leave may be renewed but only when the applicant shows evidence of satisfactory progress in this course during the initial leave period.

Applications for educational leave for periods of four months or longer must be submitted to the Employer at least six months prior to the beginning of the requested leave period. Applications for educational leave for periods of less than four months but more than one week must be submitted to the Employer at least six weeks prior to the beginning of the requested leave period. Application for courses, programs, workshops or seminars of one week or less duration must be submitted to the Employer in sufficient time to allow the Employer to make necessary arrangements for changes in or scheduling of work. No penalty shall accrue to the Employer as a result of shift schedule changes to the applicant which are the result of an applicant being granted leave under this Article. An eligible employee with three or more years of continuous service with the Employer may be granted sabbatical leave with full or partial pay or without pay, for a period of time approved by the Employer. During the sabbatical leave it would be the obligation of the nurse attend continuing education programs, a research project, visit other facilities, interview leaders in the health field, donate work IO a community agency, or any other legitimate task which would benefit the nurse’s development. Educational Leave and Assistance. 3 Employees shall submit requests for educational leave and/or assistance to the Staff Development and Change Services Department indicating the nature of the course or program and the amount of financial assistance requested. Where the request is denied, the Staff Development and Change Services Department shall provide the employee with the reason in writing

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Educational Assistance Section 1. Tuition reimbursement shall be provided to employees covered by this collective bargaining AGREEMENT under the same terms and conditions, policies and procedures as the rest of Hennepin County and reflecting a county–wide pool for funding. See Hennepin County Tuition Reimbursement Policy Frequently Asked Questions Section 2. Where courses are required and certified by the appointing authority as essential to current job performance, such appointing authority shall grant 100% reimbursement for tuition, required fees and required study materials. Section 3. At the request of an employee, an Individual Development Plan shall be established. Any employee making the request shall be provided with paid time to work with their Supervisor or Human Resources to develop a training plan for career development within Hennepin County. Human Resources will be a source of career information, and postings, in which the employee may have an interest. Time allotted for this activity and the training plan adopted shall be subject to mutual agreement of the Employee and Supervisor.

  • Cooperation and Assistance (a) You agree to provide access at no cost or expense to Us.

  • EDUCATION AND ASSISTANCE FUND 18.01 The Employer shall contribute to the Union’s Education and Assistance Fund the amount identified at Schedule “A” for each hour worked by each employee covered by this Agreement, and shall remit such contributions to the Union together with union dues, and in the manner described at Article 7.04. 18.02 The Education and Assistance Fund shall be used by the Union to educate and instruct members in the competent practice of their trade, in matters relating to Health and Safety, and to instruct specific members in effective labour relations practices. 18.03 Having regard to the demands of the Employer’s work and operations, the Employer will cooperate with the Union when safety and related courses are made available to the members employed with the Employer.

  • Information and Assistance 15.1.1 Subject to any obligation in respect of confidentiality, the DPA 2018 and Confidential Information, the Parties will use all reasonable endeavours to provide and share information and data reasonably required by the other: (a) to enable it to perform its obligations under this Agreement; and/or (b) (in the case of the Provider) which is reasonably necessary to enable the Department to perform its statutory obligations and other functions insofar as such provision forms part of the Services. 15.1.2 Neither Party will hinder, delay or prevent the other Party in the performance of the other Party's obligations under this Agreement.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE I understand that the College has not made and will not make any guarantees of employment or salary upon my graduation. The College will provide me with placement assistance, which will consist of identifying employment opportunities and advising me on appropriate means of attempting to realize these opportunities. I authorize HCI College’s representatives to contact potential employers for the purpose of advocating on my behalf and release my name and job application materials, including, but not limited to, my cover letter, resume, and transcript to prospective employers. I authorize HCI College and its third-party vendors to contact my employer to verify pertinent employment information for my graduate record.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part-time Nurses who are elected to the College of Nurses to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Nurses who are elected to the RNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Practical Nurses who are elected to the RPNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings.
