Educational Leave and Assistance. 10:03:3 Employees shall submit requests for educational leave and/or assistance to the Staff Development and Change Services Department indicating the nature of the course or program and the amount of financial assistance requested. Where the request is denied, the Staff Development and Change Services Department shall provide the employee with the reason in writing

Educational Leave and Assistance. Requests for educational assistance will only considered from regular employees who have completed their probationary period. The Employer may grant educational assistance in the form of leave (with or without pay), tuition fees, expenses and/or any other monetary aid, for education programs, courses, workshops and/or seminars. At no time, however, will the amount paid in salary together with any additional funding in the form of scholarships, grants, etc., exceed of the employee’s normal basic salary. This is exclusive of tuition fees and other expenses which may be paid or shared by the Employer and of monies paid to the employee to provide for additional expenses for approved research or relevant courses. The duration of education leave granted to employees to take advanced or special training beneficial to both the Employer and the employee, may be for varying periods of up to one year. Under special circumstances, this leave may be renewed but only when the applicant shows evidence of satisfactory progress in this course during the initial leave period. Applications for educational leave for periods of four months or longer must be submitted to the Employer at least six months prior to the beginning of the requested leave period. Applications for educational leave for periods of less than four months but more than one week must be submitted to the Employer at least six weeks prior to the beginning of the requested leave period. Application for courses, programs, workshops or seminars of one week or less duration must be submitted to the Employer in sufficient time to allow the Employer to make necessary arrangements for changes in or scheduling of work. No penalty shall accrue to the Employer as a result of shift schedule changes to the applicant which are the result of an applicant being granted leave under this Article. An eligible employee with three or more years of continuous service with the Employer may be granted sabbatical leave with full or partial pay or without pay, for a period of time approved by the Employer. During the sabbatical leave it would be the obligation of the nurse attend continuing education programs, a research project, visit other facilities, interview leaders in the health field, donate work IO a community agency, or any other legitimate task which would benefit the nurse’s development. Related to Educational Leave and Assistance

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Educational Assistance To qualify for reimbursement, an employee must be a regular employee upon enrollment. To be approved, the courses described below must be related to the employee's present position or career development:

  • Cooperation and Assistance (i) The Parties shall cooperate with each other in the filing of any Tax Returns and the conduct of any audit or other proceeding. They each shall execute and deliver such powers of attorney and make available such other documents as are reasonably necessary to carry out the intent of this Section 6.14.

  • Educational Assistance Plan The state shall provide up to six credit hours of tuition-free courses per term at a state university or community college to full-time employees on a space available basis as authorized by law.

Employees who wish to enroll in job-related and promotion oriented courses, which will improve their job knowledge, and performance will be compensated by the District for expenses as follows:

  • Educational Assistants Teachers are responsible to assign instructional duties to Educational Assistants who are allocated to students in their classroom by the Principal.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.
