TEACHER DUTY DAY. The teacher duty day shall consist of a seven hour and 45 minute (7:45) block of time. The building principal shall set the beginning and ending times for the school day. The teacher duty day shall be extended on occasion for a total of seven (7) hours per school year. At least two calendar weeks notice will be given prior to extending the school day. Extensions may not be made on holidays or weekends. The principal may schedule meetings for professional purposes, student assistance, Professional Learning Communities work, open house, back-to-school night, faculty meetings out side the duty day, or other events shall be counted as part of the seven hour extension.

TEACHER DUTY DAY. The duty day for full-time teachers, including lunch, shall be eight hours. The eight hours shall normally consist of up to five (5) hours of assigned student contact and two and one-half (2-1/2) hours of instructional management time.
TEACHER DUTY DAY. Section 1 A teacher’s duty day shall be the equivalent of seven and one half (7-1/2) instructional and non-instructional hours per day in a particular school. Teachers will work during two (2) parent/teacher nights per school year. For the events listed in sections b and c, above, Teachers who are in attendance will receive hour for hour additional time off which may be used with the written approval of the principal or supervisor with three calendar days advance notice, except in the case of an emergency, and shall not require coverage. Such additional time off can be used at any point in the school year in which it is earned and does not carry over or otherwise accrue beyond the school year in which it is earned. Additional time off that remains at the end of the school year in which it is earned or which a teacher has remaining at the time of his/her separation, has no cash value. Section 4 In addition to Section 3 events, attendance at faculty meetings may be required by the principal provided: a. One (1) day advance notice is given. b. There is a prepared agenda. c. The meeting is directed to substantially all faculty members present.
TEACHER DUTY DAY. The arrival and departure time of teachers at each attendance facility will be determined by the principal of each attendance facility, taking into consideration the needs of the teachers and such attendance facility utilizing site based decision making. The principal shall have authority to permit teacher diversion from the regular workday for good cause shown. The regular work day for each attendance facility shall be defined as the amount of time per day that teachers shall be required to be present at their assigned building. The principal shall solely determine the system of indicating presence of teachers in the attendance facility, after receiving input from the teachers of the attendance facility, at a faculty meeting. Each building shall determine the number of class periods and teaching periods per day utilizing site-based decision-making. Teachers shall have the right to request that IEP meetings, parent meetings or staff meetings be rescheduled to another time if the meeting goes beyond the time contemplated or anticipated for the meeting.

Faculty meetings will be conducted within the parameters of the teacher duty day and in no case will extend more than fifteen (15) minutes past duty day. Section 5 All teachers shall be provided planning time as outlined in section 6 of this article. Section 6 a. Elementary school teachers shall receive a minimum of one hour of preparation time for students and the system per day.

However, by mutual agreement between the teacher and the principal, or other responsible supervisor, the duty hours may vary so long as the total duty time of seven (7) hours and thirty (30) consecutive minutes is worked.

However, by mutual agreement between the teacher and the principal, or other responsible supervisor, the duty hours may vary so long as the total duty time of seven (7) hours and thirty (30) consecutive minutes is worked. 1. The length of day on non-student contact days shall be six (6) continuous hours inclusive of lunch. 2. Instructional personnel will be dismissed fifteen (15) minutes after the normal student dismissal time on days preceding a non-student attendance day. The normal dismissal time is considered to be the normal release time at the close of a full day of school. B. All teachers shall be entitled to a lunch period of not less than thirty (30) consecutive minutes. The building principal may, but will not be required to, assign teachers lunchroom responsibilities. C. All elementary teachers, including special subject areas, shall have two hundred twenty-five (225) minutes of planning each full work week with at least twenty-five (25) of those minutes consecutively each day, and all secondary teachers shall have fifty (50) continuous minutes of planning unless Federal or State program requirements deem otherwise. This is in addition to the teacher’s lunch period. Teachers may volunteer to teach or perform other duties during their planning time. D. Teacher participation in extra-curricular activities will be strictly voluntary.
TEACHER DUTY DAY. The teacher duty day at each building will total eight (8) hours and zero (0) minutes per day including a scheduled thirty (30) minute duty-free lunch. The duty day will commence fifteen (15) minutes before the student start time and will end fifteen (15) minutes after the student end time as stated on the BOE-approved District Calendar for that building. The fifteen (15) minutes before and/or after the start and/or the end of the school day may not be designated as teacher planning time.
