FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE. A. The Faculty Advisory Committee shall have a membership of not less than five or more than eleven employees elected by the employees at each school. Education Support Professionals may be included on the committee by a vote of the faculty. The Faculty Advisory Committee shall be elected by secret ballot election, conducted by the site Association representative within the first six weeks of the school year. In the absence of a site Association representative, CTA shall assist in selecting a teacher on that school’s staff to conduct the election. A list of the members of the Faculty Advisory Committee of each school shall be sent to the Association and the administrator. The administrator shall meet with the Faculty Advisory Committee within three weeks of a request. B. The Faculty Advisory Committee may meet during the regular duty day at such times as committee members have no student contact. The Faculty Advisory Committee may choose to meet with other employees and/or with the administrator, during the regular duty day provided the employees have no assigned instructional responsibility and that such meetings shall not conflict with previously scheduled meetings. C. In addition to duties outlined in Article XIV, the Faculty Advisory Committee may meet to discuss and make recommendations concerning the following: 1. A rotation plan composed of available staff to substitute in case of emergency. 2. The purchase and distribution of instructional equipment, materials and supplies. 3. Student discipline plans, which may include guidelines for referral of students into alternative education settings. 4. The disposition of discipline referrals in a timely manner. 5. Additional safeguards to deal with acts of violence, including those involving weapons, and procedures for notification of teachers when their students have been found to have carried a weapon on campus. 6. Other concerns of the faculty which may result in a smoother operation of the school. D. Any school-wide drives or collection of money which involve teachers shall not be approved until such have been discussed with the Faculty Advisory Committee. E. The Faculty Advisory Committee shall be responsible for establishing a process to elect teacher representatives to the School Advisory Committee. F. Participation on the FAC shall not serve as a basis for the evaluation of any teacher.

FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE. A. A Faculty Advisory Committee shall be established consisting of two (2) teachers from each building appointed by the Association to advise the Superintendent and the Board on matters of concern to teachers. Principals shall be invited to attend these meetings. The committee shall meet with the Superintendent and at least one Board member at least three (3) times per year or more often at the request of the Association, the Superintendent, or the Board, but in no case more than ten (10) times per year, unless by mutual agreement. The first meeting shall occur by October 31, the second by January 31, and the third by April 30. Responsibility for setting up these meetings rests with the Association.
FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE. Each school, if a majority of the instructional staff so desires, shall have a Faculty Advisory Committee (FAC) elected by members of the instructional staff. Where applicable, this committee shall include a representative from the classified employees. The elections for the FAC members shall be no later than September 15. The term of office for these members shall be one (1) year. The size of the FAC shall be no less than five (5), but no more than seven (7) members. The function of the FAC shall include meeting with the Building Administrator, or designee, for the purposes of: 1. Discussing concerns, recommendations, and/or proposals from the instructional staff and implementation of new programs, regulations, and/or procedures by the administration; 2. Assist in resolving staff concerns prior to filing a grievance. The FAC may also include, but is not limited to the following duties: 1. Assisting, as requested, with the preparation of agendas for faculty meetings; 2. Analyzing data on discipline and making recommendations to resolve discipline problems; and 3. Forwarding suggestions regarding modifications on the Code of Student Conduct to the Committee on Discipline Enforcement (CODE). The school administrator or his/her administrative designee shall, except in emergencies, advise of and discuss with the FAC of any new rules and changes in existing rules, regulations and procedures before they are implemented. The FAC meetings shall be open meetings. School instructional staff other than FAC members may attend the meetings. The building principal is not bound by any decision of the FAC.
FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE. It is specifically agreed that whenever a reduction in force is necessary due to non-viability of programs, financial exigency, budget reductions, over-staffing or by the direction of the Legislature, a faculty advisory committee shall be established at the affected College to provide recommendations to the Board. In each instance the faculty advisory committee shall be established by the President. Members of the committee shall be recommended by the Faculty Senate. In each instance, the faculty advisory committee shall provide recommendations regarding program viability based on pre-determined viability standards and within the time limits established by the Board. It is specifically agreed that the faculty advisory committee recommendation shall be advisory only and that any final decisions regarding the necessity of reduction in force shall be reserved to the College administration and Board.
FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE. 7-1 The principal in each elementary and secondary school shall in September of each year establish a faculty advisory committee from among interested members of the individual school staff. 7-2 The purpose of the advisory committee shall be to meet periodically with the principal to discuss educational matters of concern to the teachers and the principal relating to the respective schools. 7-3 The committee shall be organized on the following basis: 7-3.1 Elementary schools with one (1) to nine (9) teachers -- All interested may serve on the advisory committee. 7-3.2 Elementary schools with ten (10) or more teachers -- Five (5) teachers nominated by the faculty.

FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE. 1. The Principal shall establish policies and procedures for the orderly operation of the school after consultation with a Faculty Advisory Committee, department heads, and other staff members. 2. There shall be a Faculty Advisory Committee in each of the buildings.

FACULTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE. A. There shall be a Faculty Advisory Committee established in each building which shall be co- chaired by the BEA Building Chairperson and the Building Principal or administrative designee. The Building Principal or administrative designee shall be a member of the committee. B. BEA shall have representatives on the Faculty Advisory Committee. 1. Elementary Schools and Intermediate School – 1 per grade level 2. Middle School and High School – 1 per department 3. Such representatives shall be elected by their respective faculties. C. The intent of the committee is to improve communications between staff and administration in regard to building issues and programs and to improve the educational effectiveness of the building. The Faculty Advisory Committee shall meet at least once a month during the school year to discuss matters of common interest in the building including: educational programs, community relations, student relations and code of conduct, teachers’ common plan period, supplies, scheduling of duties, and building safety. A schedule of regular meetings shall be established and an agenda of matters to be considered at the regular meetings shall be distributed to the building staff at least twenty-four (24) hours before any regular meeting. If no agenda items are presented, the meeting will not be held. D. Members may submit items of concern that pertain to the interest of the school as a whole on the FAC Problem Solving Worksheet located in the teacher handbook. This worksheet may be given to any member of the FAC Committee prior to the establishment of the meeting agenda. E. Minutes of all meetings shall be kept and made available to the building staff, the BEA, the building administration and the Superintendent. Meetings will be open to any teacher or administrator who is not a member of the committee who wishes to attend as an observer.
