HOURS OF WORK / OVERTIME / SHIFT PREMIUM. 7.01 Definition Normal hours of work for employees are thirty-six and one-quarter (36.25) hours per week at seven and one-quarter (7.25) hours per day.
HOURS OF WORK / OVERTIME / SHIFT PREMIUM. 14.1 ** The hours of work for employees covered by this Agreement shall be thirty-five (35) hours per week, Monday to Friday, except for employees whose work week must be based on a seven (7) day operation at forty (40) hours per week. The normal daily hours of work for offices which work a thirty-five (35) hour work week will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with one (1) hour unpaid meal period. Lunch hour arrangements may be on a staggered basis as arranged in the department. However, the above mentioned "start" and "quit" times may be varied as required by work schedules. See Appendix "C". Scheduled hours of work shall be established by the Corporation. Any changes in scheduled hours of work shall be discussed with the Union prior to implementation. It is understood that the provisions of this Article are intended only to provide a basis for calculating time worked and shall not be a guarantee as to hours of work per day nor as to hours of work per week, nor as a guarantee of working schedules.

Employees who work a 40 hour work week will be provided with a twenty (20) minute paid lunch period. Scheduled hours of work shall be established by the Corporation. Notice of shift changes shall normally be provided to the employees concerned at least twenty four (24) hours before the start of that employees next scheduled shift. Exceptions to this notice include emergencies and when arranging coverage for other employees who are absent due to sickness or other unanticipated leave.

Normal hours of work will be forty (40) hours per week on the basis of five (5) consecutive days at eight (8) hours (exclusive of the meal period) per day with the two (2) consecutive days off each work week, It is understood that the Employer does not guarantee to provide any hours of work on any day subject to the other terms of this Collective Agreement. Shift: start times, for purposes, defined as follows: to to to Shift Afternoon Shift Shift The Employer and the Union recognize that because of the nature of the Employer's business it may be necessary for overtime work to be and it is understood that employees will co-operate in the performance of overtime as required. An employee who has already worked eight (8) hours in the day will only be expected to work additional hours that day in accordance with the following procedure. The overtime will be offered to the employees normally performingthe work in order of the greatest seniority. If sufficient volunteers cannot be obtained in that manner, the Employer may require qualified employees to perform the work, beginning with the students (if any) on shift, and proceeding in order of least seniority until the necessary complement is reached. Overtime at the rate of time and one half shall be paid after eight (8) hours of work on any day.
