Information and Communication Technology. 1. The Parties, recognising the rapid development, led by the private sector, of information and communication technology (hereinafter referred to as “ICT”) and of business practices concerning ICT-related services both in the domestic and international contexts, shall cooperate to promote the development of ICT and ICT- related services with a view to obtaining the maximum benefit of the use of ICT for the Parties. 2. The areas of cooperation shall include: (a) promotion of electronic commerce; (b) promotion of the use by consumers, the public sector and the private sector, of ICT-related services, including newly emerging services and next generation networks; (c) human resource development relating to ICT; (d) undertaking of joint research and development projects; and (e) promotion of anti-SPAM efforts. 3. The forms of cooperation may include: (a) exchanging information and expertise on ICT policies, creation of ICT- related services, provision of e-government services, content development, network security and protection of privacy; (b) undertaking technical cooperation in areas such as network infrastructure, creative and multimedia industries and ICT infrastructure development; (c) encouraging and facilitating investment by private and/or public enterprises in ICT industries in the territories of the Parties; and (d) providing technical assistance in the development of ICT-related projects.

Information and Communication Technology. 18.1 The Employer’s network, personal computers, laptops, mobile storage devices (including smart phones) internet, email or any other communications systems or devices are for business use only. The Employee is not permitted to use personal devices or connect devices to the Employer’s network without the Employer’s express consent. All communication / information including deleted items can be accessed, viewed and monitored by the Employer or Employer’s agent. 18.2 The Employee:- 18.2.1 must comply with all ICT policies, procedures and instructions 18.2.2 must immediately inform the Employer if the Employee believes that ICT security has been compromised. 18.2.3 must not download, install, fileshare or allow to be installed any third party software application or licensed or copyright material (except as authorised and in accordance with the licence) on to the business network, computers or communications devices. 18.2.4 must not disable or uninstall any software applications, or undertake a factory reset on any device belonging to the Employer. 18.2.5 must not use the Employer’s devices to access or send offensive, explicit or illegal material 18.2.6 must not misuse or disclose any passwords / security information relating to any of the Employer’s devices unless authorised to do so.

Digital technologies provide tools to enhance learning, expand curriculum opportunities for students, support professional learning of educators, deliver access to curriculum support and assessment resources for educators, connect education communities and are the tools for many management systems in the Department. 57.2 Developing understanding of and proficiencies in the use of digital technologies is a necessity for our students if they are to be well prepared for the world of further education, training and to live and work successfully in a digital world. 57.3 Developing the capacity of educators to use digital technologies confidently for planning, preparation, teaching and assessment, as well as to support professional growth is essential. 57.4 The Parties remain committed to supporting the public school education system in effective use and management of information and communication technologies. 57.5 The Department is committed to monitoring and providing sufficient bandwidth in schools, both in a centrally provided capacity and local options for schools. 57.6 To enable schools to use digital technologies effectively in curriculum delivery and for operational purposes, the Department will ensure: (a) Technological infrastructure, including hardware, software and accessibility to internet functions is available to the system and with consideration of equitable access; (b) Continuation of central management and support structures which would bring economies of scale for purchasing, avoid incompatibilities arising and lead to a more effective and efficient support system to schools; (c) Reasonable responsiveness to the rapidly changing world of digital technologies; (d) Professional learning is available to support capacity building in schools. 57.7 This means for Employees covered by this Agreement: (a) participating in professional learning to develop and build on understanding and skills in information and communication technology (ICT) and its integration into learning programs; and (b) utilising the systemic online technologies and systems implemented by the Department to support teaching and learning programs, the administration of student information and the Department. 57.8 The Department agrees to quarterly meetings with the Union to discuss ICT issues. These meetings will form a subset of the EREC.

Information and Communication Technology. The CoT shall prior to the Effective Date procure an ICT service provider to provide the ICT systems and services under a separate agreement between the CoT and the ICT service provider. The Private Party undertakes that it shall co-operate with the ICT service provider on and around the Site throughout the Project Term and shall enter into an ICT Interface Agreement on the terms substantially in the form attached to this Agreement as Schedule 25 [ICT Interface Agreement] which form sets out: the relationship and allocation of risks between; and working practices adopted by, the ICT service provider and the Private Party, in order to ensure the uninterrupted provision of the Services and Works by the Private Party under this Agreement (and to enable the ICT service provider to provide the services required of it under the agreement for the provision of the ICT services). The CoT shall require the ICT service provider (and any additional or replacement ICT service provider) to co-operate with the Private Party and shall procure the ICT service provider (and any additional or replacement ICT service provider) to agree with the Private Party the terms of and enter into the ICT Interface Agreement. At the request of the CoT, the Private Party shall adjust the Programme as shall be necessary to allow a workable interface between the provision of the Services and Works under this Agreement and the provision of the services under the separate agreement for ICT services, provided that such adjustment may only be required to the extent that it does not cause a delay to the Target Completion Date or increase the costs of the Private Party and/or the Works. In addition, the Private Party shall, at the request of the CoT, designate a project co-ordinator who shall be responsible for liaising with the ICT service provider for the provision of ICT services and facilitating on a day-to-day basis the implementation of this Project and the provision of the ICT services. The Private Party shall procure that subject to complying with all relevant safety procedures, the Private Party's Site Rules (if in effect) and any reasonable directions with regard to safety issued by the Private Party from time to time, the ICT service provider [and any bidders for the ICT Project] shall have access to the Site, Works and Facilities at all reasonable times upon prior notice (except in the event of an emergency) solely for the purpose of the provision of ICT services and the implementatio...
Information and Communication Technology. 23.1 The Parties agree that emerging and rapidly changing information and communication technologies have major implications for the government education system, and that responses at all levels are necessary in relation to the utilisation and management of these technologies. 23.2 For the Department of Education and Training this means: • Ensuring systemic and equitable access by schools and teachers to the relevant technological infrastructure, including hardware, software and the internet. • The establishment and implementation of systemic standards. • The provision of relevant professional learning. • Mechanisms for the cost efficient management and maintenance of both hardware and software. • Development of a comprehensive online teaching and learning system and associated tools and technologies to support contemporary learning. 23.3 For teachers this means: • Participating in professional learning to develop and build on understanding and skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its integration into learning programs. • Utilising the systemic online technologies and systems implemented by the Department to support teaching and learning programs and the administration of student information. 23.4 The Department commits to provide funding to schools through the ICT grant for schools to spend on other associated learning technology costs, including maintenance and professional development. Such funds may be transferred into the school salary pool to support the funding of school based Information Technology Co- ordinator (ITC) positions. (a) The Department is currently undertaking a major evaluation of the ICT support requirements of schools through the 100 Schools Project. The parties will establish a Joint Reference Group to consider the Department’s strategic approach to ICT, including the provision of ICT support to schools, particularly of a technical nature, with consideration of factors such as complexity and remoteness. (b) Terms of Reference for the Reference Group to be agreed between the parties. (c) This Reference Group to meet within three months of the registration of this Agreement. 23.6 Should the 100 Schools Project Evaluation Report not be available by the end of Semester 1, 2006, an interim report be available at that time. 23.7 The Department will continue to develop programs which minimise the need for teachers and school administrators to be involved in the purchasing, maintenance and support of school ICT infra...
