Job Sharing Arrangements. Where the Hospital and the Union agree, job sharing arrangements may be entered into between the parties on a local level. Job sharing is defined as an arrangement whereby two employees share the hours of work of what would otherwise be one full-time position. Subject to the provisions of Article 11, the position involved in the job sharing arrangement will be maintained as a full-time position in the Hospital's staffing complement. The model agreement with respect to job sharing is set out below: This Model Agreement shall be part of the Collective Agreement between the parties herein, and shall apply to the employees described in Article 1 of the Model Agreement.
Job Sharing Arrangements. All positions in which there is a job sharing work arrangement will be confined to full-time positions. The employees who are job sharing in the full-time position will be considered as filling one (1) full-time staff complement position for purposes of employment status during the duration of the approved job sharing arrangement.
Job Sharing Arrangements. Where two people apply to share any advertised permanent full-time position, including a position above the base scale, and the employer is satisfied that the job share application is best suited for appointment and that the arrangements for sharing the position are acceptable to it then the position shall be filled as a job share position and the applicants appointed. Teachers who are job sharing are entitled to the same terms and conditions of employment as permanent full-time teachers except that salary shall be paid on the appropriate pro-rata basis. Where a teacher who is job sharing resigns or is removed from the position the other teacher shall elect to: Take up the entire full-time position; or Find another sharer acceptable to the employer for the same or a different proportion of time as previously; or Continue in the same proportion of time as previously or, with the agreement of the employer, a different proportion of time, as a permanent part-time teacher. Where one teacher who is job sharing takes leave which entails absence for a period of time the other sharer shall: Elect to relieve in the vacant slot; or Find another sharer acceptable to the employer who would be a reliever; or Take leave also, in which case the employer may appoint a reliever. Where it is proposed to vary the agreed proportions of time in a position the job sharers shall give one month’s notice to the employer of their wish to do so, provided that no changes to such proportions of time shall be made without the consent of the employer. Where the holder of a permanent full-time position wishes to job share that teacher’s position and the employer is satisfied with the job share arrangements, and the teachers are suitable, they shall be appointed without advertising.

Subject to the provisions of Article 18, the position involved in the job sharing arrangement will be maintained as a full-time position in the Employer’s staffing complement. The Employer and the Union in making an agreement shall use the Model Agreement outlined at Article 28.
Job Sharing Arrangements. Two nurses may share a full-time position subject to the agreement of all parties and provided that the following conditions are met:
(a) Job sharing shall be initiated by the incumbent in a full-time position who wishes to enter into such an arrangement and shall require the agreement of the Hospital.
(b) If approved, the Job share position half shall be posted and the selection will be based on the criteria set out in the Collective Agreement. It is understood and agreed that the arrangement is for a trial period of six (6) months during which the Hospital will determine if the arrangement will work satisfactorily. During the trial period either nurse may return voluntarily to their former position. If the Hospital does not believe the Job sharing arrangement is working the Hospital may return the nurse(s) to their former positions and any subsequent positions filled as a result of the Job Share Trial period will also be reversed.
(c) Any vacant position as a result of a job share arrangement will be posted in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
(d) The schedule for the job sharers shall be based on a full time rotation on the Unit that would apply to the full-time nurse who held that position. The schedule shall comply with the scheduling regulations in the Collective Agreement. The division of the scheduled shifts shall be determined by mutual agreement of the two nurses working the Job share position and the Manager of the Unit.
(e) Job sharers shall endeavour to cover for their partner's absences including vacation. A Job Sharer will be offered the opportunity to cover their partner for extended sick leaves, or any other lengthy absence prior to the Job share position being backfilled unless mutually agreed otherwise by the Union and the Hospital. For purposes of this agreement, the term lengthy absence shall be defined as an absence beyond two (2) weeks.
(f) If one of the job sharers leaves the arrangement, the position will be posted. If there is no successful applicant to the position, the position will revert to a full time position and be posted as a full time job. The remaining nurse, if there are no part time positions available on the same unit, the nurse shall exercise layoff bumping rights to obtain a part time position.
(g) A job sharing arrangement may be ended by the Hospital or the Union with sixty (60) days written notice. A meeting will be held within fifteen (15) days of receipt of the written Notice to discuss the discontinuat...
Job Sharing Arrangements. 54.01 The Union and Employer agrees that employees shall be granted the right to participate in the Job Sharing Program as is found in Schedule Q.
Job Sharing Arrangements. Full-time employees in either the X-ray or Laboratory Bargaining Units or the Employer may propose a sharing arrangement, and if agreed to by the Union and the Employer, it shall be implemented.
Job Sharing Arrangements. This will confirm that the above-noted Employer and the Union have agreed to enter into a protocol agreement addressing the issue of job sharing. Where the Employer and the Union agree to enter into a job sharing agreement, the attached protocol agreement will be followed, unless modified at the local level between the Union and the Employer. Nothing in this letter or the attached protocol agreement will be construed as compelling either the Employer, an employee, or the Union to enter into a job sharing arrangement. The parties agree that the job sharing protocol agreement shall not be used as a precedent and shall not be referred to by the Employer or the Union in any other negotiations or proceedings.

Article 1 – Work Unit and Employees Covered (Detailed and specific description of department and employees covered.)

(b) Job sharing arrangements shall be considered where employees express an interest in job sharing in writing. The Employer and Union must approve a job sharing arrangement before it can be initiated. A request initiated by employees shall identify the two employees proposing to job share the position. The request will be considered subject to the Employer’s operational requirements and for the purpose of providing a more flexible work environment for interested employees. Any resulting vacancies created by a job sharing arrangement shall be posted in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
(c) The two employees wishing to job share shall present their proposed arrangement including schedule and time to be worked to their Supervisor. There will be a discussion between the employees and the Supervisor after which the Supervisor shall decide on whether or not to proceed and if so, on the details of the job sharing arrangement.
