Lane Advancement. Appointed teachers and temporarily assigned teachers who are deemed highly qualified by the Illinois State Board of Education Rules and Regulations to teach students with disabilities, who are assigned or appointed by the BOARD as teachers of students with disabilities and who have completed thirty semester hours of approved graduate credit in the area of special education shall be permitted to advance to Lane ll of the salary schedule. Termination of service in the area of special education shall cause said appointed teacher or temporarily assigned teacher to revert to the appropriate lane of the salary schedule and, further, it shall be the responsibility of the teacher to notify the BOARD of such termination.
Lane Advancement. Employees shall advance on the salary schedule as follows:
Lane Advancement. Individuals employed in the above positions shall be eligible for vertical lane advancement on the same basis as any teacher employed by the District and shall be eligible for horizontal lane advancement to the MA +36 lane upon completion of at least 12 hours beyond the initial Master’s degree and satisfaction of any and all conditions and requirements set forth in Article 13 of the Agreement.
Lane Advancement. When a teacher has achieved sufficient credit for lane advancement on the salary schedule, the teacher shall submit to the Superintendent, or designee, an official sealed or e-mailed transcript provided by the university and proof of payment. The advancement shall be effective on the start of the school term provided the above-mentioned documentation is submitted on or before September 30. If the documentation is submitted after September 30, but on or before February 28, the advancement shall be effective on the thirteenth (13th) paycheck of the school term. In this case, the compensation shall be computed to equal credit for one-half (½) of the school year and pro-rated over the teacher's remaining checks. Only one lane advancement can take place per school year.

Lane Advancement. (a) For Group I and Group II, credit towards the “Bachelor’s and 15 credits” lane, the “Mas- ter’s and 15 credits” lane, the “Master’s and 45 credits” and the “Master’s and 60 credits” lane shall be granted on the same basis as that for which credits have been granted for the 30 added credits required for the “Master’s and 30 credits” lane.
(b) Lane placement on a equivalency basis shall be granted to Trades teachers so that they achieve Master’s plus 45 upon earning a Master’s degree.
(c) In accordance with past policy, credit shall be granted for salary purposes for in-service courses and all graduate courses taken at an institution of higher learning accredited by the Committee. Credit in the excess of ten (10) but not in excess of thirty (30) shall be granted for salary purpose for in-service courses earned after September 1, 1980. The School Department reserves the right to disapprove for salary credit courses that are unre- lated to the field of education in the Boston Public Schools, or to subjects taught therein, or which do not enhance advancement up the educational career ladder for bargaining unit personnel. Law credits or degrees shall be creditable for employees who were in law school on or before the date of ratifica- tion of the 1983-86 Agreement and who acquire their law degree on or before June 30, 1985. Other employees with a law degree will always be placed one lane on the salary scale advanced from where they would otherwise be. Requests for pre-approval of any courses shall be responded to by the Hu- man Resource Department promptly. A teacher hired after September 1, 2013 shall not advance a lane on the salary grid beyond the Masters +15 lane in Art. VIII, Section C unless he or she takes course(s) that have received prior ap- proval for lane advancement from the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
(d) With the School Department approval of subject matter and provider, fifteen (15) contact hours of continuing education shall equal one (1) in-service credit for nurses, speech and language pathologists, school psychologists, pupil adjustment counselors, guidance counselors, occupational and physical therapists, vision teachers, and lead sign language interpreter.
Lane Advancement. BA+75: If a teacher reaches the BA+75 lane and thereafter earns a Master’s degree, the teacher will only need fifteen (15) credits to advance to the MA+30 lane.
Lane Advancement. Faculty will be eligible for lane advancement on the faculty salary schedule by successfully completing pre-approved graduate courses as follows:
1. Graduate courses in the faculty member’s teaching area.
2. Graduate courses in education such as: Community College, Educational Psychology, Philosophy of Education, Administration of Higher Education, Guidance, Evaluation and Testing, Educational Statistics, Instructional Technology, or Adult Education. Applications for coursework approval shall be submitted to the appropriate Xxxx at least thirty (30) days prior to commencement of the graduate course. Evidence of coursework completion must be submitted to the Xxxx as provided in Section 7.1.2. Faculty members shall not be advanced to a lane for which the degree has not been earned. For example, a faculty member who has not been awarded a Master’s degree shall not be advanced to the Master’s lane or beyond until the degree is awarded and the coursework completed. A faculty member who has not been awarded a Doctoral degree shall not be advanced to the doctoral lane.
