Length of Teacher Work Day. Except as provided in Section I, Item IV, J (non-teaching duties), regular employment obligations for teachers will be a seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour day, inclusive of lunch. Professional Development days will consist of six (6) hours, exclusive of lunch. The fifteen (15) minutes for elementary and the twenty (20) minutes for secondary before the 1st xxxx and the fifteen (15) minutes for elementary and the ten (10) minutes for secondary after the last xxxx are not intended for instruction but for preparing the classroom for instruction and classroom closure. Should bus duty exceed the workday by fifteen/ten (15/10) minutes for two or more consecutive duties, the teacher may request relief and the principal will provide relief. Teachers will attend, under normal circumstance, no more than one thirty (30) minute general faculty meeting beyond the seven and one-half hour (7 1/2) school day every week called by their building principal or the Superintendent of Schools. Except in emergency situations, these meetings will not be held on Fridays, or the day preceding a holiday or vacation period. Teachers shall be notified of meetings in advance with teachers having the right to suggest items on the agenda. Individual teachers may be required to work beyond the seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour work day to attend a conference with a parent and/or IEP meeting which cannot be scheduled during a typical work day. Length of Teacher Work Day. The specific hours at all buildings may vary building to building within the District. The basic day for a teacher will be 7.5 consecutive hours inclusive of a thirty-minute duty-free lunch. Duty free lunches will occur between and include the earliest and latest student lunches. Teachers will be on duty for those hours on Monday through Friday. On Fridays and days before vacations and holidays, teachers may leave their buildings 15 minutes early but not until students are properly supervised.
Length of Teacher Work Day a. Commencing with the 2006-2007 school year, the length of the teacher day for regular session shall be seven (7) hours and 5 minutes. This represents a 5 minute per day increase over the 2005-2006 school year for all teachers.

  • Teacher Work Day The term of contract for employees shall be one hundred ninety (190) days (maximum one hundred eighty (180) student days). Any extension of the term of contract shall be paid in full day increments and be paid at the rate of one-one hundred ninetieth (1/190) of the regular salary of the employee. The maximum daily hours of work for employees shall be 465 continuous minutes and shall include a minimum of thirty (30) minutes continuous, duty-free lunch period. No more than 375 minutes shall be student contact time. The teaching staff will receive one full day at the end of each quarter to be used in preparation of grades for report cards and conferences. Assignment of students for a new school year to classrooms and schedules shall be done in a fair and equitable manner to promote a variety of strengths, needs and equal numbers of each classroom. The Administration shall make reasonable effort to ensure that assignments are made collaboratively, considering such issues as special needs, behavior, attendance and academic levels. Collaborative input may include regular and special education staff, para-educators, teaching specialist and administrators. In the event of a change in the student day, the Association will be informed of such change and given an opportunity to respond, provided, however, that exceptions to this section may occur in the event of emergencies or acts of God. The District shall make every reasonable effort to increase the amount of collaboration time available to professional employees within the normal work day.   • Continuous, Intermittent, and Reduced Work Schedule Leave All leave granted under this Article shall normally be for a continuous period of time for each incident. An employee shall be permitted to take intermittent leave or work on a reduced schedule to take care of a family member with a serious health condition or for his/her own serious health condition when it is medically necessary. Management may require the employee to transfer temporarily to an available alternative position with equivalent compensation for which the employee is qualified that accommodates recurring periods of leave better than the employee’s regular position. Employees who elect a part-time schedule shall receive prorated compensated time off benefits in accordance with Section 4.110 of the Los Angeles Administrative Code during the duration of their part-time schedule. In accordance with the California Family Rights Act (CFRA), leave for the birth, adoption or xxxxxx care placement of a child of an employee (“bonding” leave) does not have to be taken in one continuous period of time. Under CFRA, the basic minimum duration of bonding leave is two weeks, and on any two occasions an employee is entitled to such bonding leave for a time period of not less than one day but less than two weeks’ duration. Any other form of intermittent leave, or work on a reduced schedule, for the purpose of bonding leave shall only be permitted at the discretion of Management. Bonding leave must be concluded within one year of the birth or placement of the child.

  • Length of School Day 4.4.1 For each school the length of the “school day” shall be determined according to the requirement that students are normally required to be in attendance for two HD, one before noon, the other after noon.

  • Length of Workday The employees' workday shall be seven and one- half (7 1/2) consecutive hours, including the lunch period. The normal teaching load for assigned classes shall not exceed a daily average of 300 minutes. Those teachers who teach 360 minutes shall have a workday of no longer than eight and one-half (8 1/2) hours. If a four (4) day work week is implemented, this schedule may be compressed into that period. Said compression shall not result in the reduction of salary or benefits.

  • Work Day/Work Week 1. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday of no more than eight (8) hours per day and no more than forty (40) hours per work week. This shall not restrict the extension of the employee’s usual and customary workday or workweek when such is necessary to carry on the business of the School District. Employees who actually work more than forty (40) hours per week will receive overtime pay (time-and-a-half).
