Length of Teacher Work Day. Except as provided in Section I, Item IV, J (non-teaching duties), regular employment obligations for teachers will be a seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour day, inclusive of lunch. Professional Development days will consist of six (6) hours, exclusive of lunch. The fifteen (15) minutes for elementary and the twenty (20) minutes for secondary before the 1st xxxx and the fifteen (15) minutes for elementary and the ten (10) minutes for secondary after the last xxxx are not intended for instruction but for preparing the classroom for instruction and classroom closure. Should bus duty exceed the workday by fifteen/ten (15/10) minutes for two or more consecutive duties, the teacher may request relief and the principal will provide relief. Teachers will attend, under normal circumstance, no more than one thirty (30) minute general faculty meeting beyond the seven and one-half hour (7 1/2) school day every week called by their building principal or the Superintendent of Schools. Except in emergency situations, these meetings will not be held on Fridays, or the day preceding a holiday or vacation period. Teachers shall be notified of meetings in advance with teachers having the right to suggest items on the agenda. Individual teachers may be required to work beyond the seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour work day to attend a conference with a parent and/or IEP meeting which cannot be scheduled during a typical work day. Length of Teacher Work Day. The specific hours at all buildings may vary building to building within the District. The basic day for a teacher will be 7.5 consecutive hours inclusive of a thirty-minute duty-free lunch. Duty free lunches will occur between and include the earliest and latest student lunches. Teachers will be on duty for those hours on Monday through Friday. On Fridays and days before vacations and holidays, teachers may leave their buildings 15 minutes early but not until students are properly supervised. Subd 1. Prep Time: Teacher workload will consist of 255 instructional minutes in the high school and 310 instructional minutes in the elementary schools. These instructional minutes shall occur on a daily basis and are not to average out over a week, semester, year, or other unit of time. Both parties (District and Exclusive Representative) must agree if the instructional minutes are averaged out over any other period longer than one day. Travel time for teachers assigned duties on more than one campus will not be on prep time or duty free lunch. In addition, prep time for secondary teachers will consist of a minimum of two, separate, 50 continuous minute time periods. Prep time for elementary teachers will consist of a minimum of 70 minutes, at least 50 minutes of which will be in a continuous block of time.
Length of Teacher Work Day a. Commencing with the 2006-2007 school year, the length of the teacher day for regular session shall be seven (7) hours and 5 minutes. This represents a 5 minute per day increase over the 2005-2006 school year for all teachers. i. At the Xxxxx X. Xxxxxxxx School and the Xxxxxx X. Xxxxx School, there shall be approximately 40 minutes per day, prior to the commencement of the student day, utilized as described in (b) below. ii. At the High School and Middle School, a 9 period shall be created by reducing the 2005-2006 length of each period 2 minutes, along with the additional 5 minutes per day. The 9 period, which shall be utilized, as described in (b) below, shall take place at the end of the student day. b. The additional period of time described in (a)(i)(ii) above, shall be utilized as follows: The Superintendent shall decide on the exact number of days to be used for extra help for students, which number may vary throughout the school year but shall be approximately two days per week. Teacher preparation of student assignments to be posted on eBoard or any such similar communication system shall be the professional responsibility of unit members to be conducted as an overall job duty. The time previously allotted towards the performance of eBoard duty shall be utilized for co-planning among and between members who are assigned to inclusion instruction. For those members not otherwise assigned to inclusion courses, the aforementioned time or period shall be dedicated to modifying lessons for the benefit of students with disabilities and otherwise and collaborating with other teachers. The remaining days will be used for professional development - except that every other week one of the two professional development periods will be for co-planning. c. Teachers shall be available to provide extra help for student during the entire time of the additional periods so designated and shall maintain attendance records for all students who attend. However, in connection with the extra help periods, teachers shall not be required to prepare lesson plans, to provide homework assignments, to assign grades or to communicate with parents and no formal observations shall occur. d. At the Middle School and High School teachers are required to report to home rooms or assigned duty stations ten minutes prior to the homeroom. e. All teachers shall record each time that they enter or exit the building, based upon the recording method instituted by the District.

  • Length of Work Year 1. The length of the work year for custodians, accountants, (excluding school lunch accountant), personnel specialist, maintenance, maintenance helpers, mechanics, purchasing coordinator, county receptionist, warehouse and property records coordinator shall be twelve months. 2. The length of the work year for attendance assistant and bus drivers shall be 188 days. 3. The length of the work year for school food service shall be 194 days.

  • Length of Term The term of this Agreement shall extend from the Effective Date through May 8, 2014 (“Term”) unless terminated earlier in accordance with the terms herein. On May 8, 2013 and on each subsequent May 8th through and including May 8, 2017, the end date of the Term shall automatically be extended by one (1) additional year, unless either party has previously provided written notice to the other party to not so extend the Term. Once such notice has been provided, then the Term shall no longer be extended on any following May 8th. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, this Agreement shall in all cases expire no later than (and cannot be extended beyond) May 8, 2019. Upon expiration of the Term due to either party’s providing written notice to not extend the Term, then your employment with the Company shall terminate (if not terminated earlier in accordance with the terms herein) as of the end of the Term. The terms of Sections 5 and 7 through 15 shall survive any termination or expiration of this Agreement or of your employment.

  • Summer Work a. This section shall apply only to those employees hired to fill temporary summer positions. b. The District will provide the Association with a list of expected summer work job openings prior to the last day of school. Summer positions shall be included on the District’s website. c. The District shall not fill summer positions with outside employees until bargaining unit members have had at least three (3) working days to submit applications.

  • Length of School Day 4.4.1 For each school the length of the “school day” shall be determined according to the requirement that students are normally required to be in attendance for two HD, one before noon, the other after noon. 4.4.2 The normal teaching load in respect of any one day is therefore related to that requirement and takes account of the normal timetabling practices of each school.

  • Length of Service Subject to the requirements of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity, if two or more employees are being considered for the same position and are equal in every respect, the position shall be given to the employee with the greater amount of seniority as defined in Article 28 - Seniority.

  • Permission to Leave Work The Employer agrees that stewards shall not be hindered, coerced, restrained or interfered with in any way in the performance of their duties, while investigating disputes and presenting adjustments as provided in this Article. The Union recognizes that each xxxxxxx is employed by the Employer and that they will not leave their work during working hours except to perform their duties under this Agreement. Therefore, no xxxxxxx shall leave their work without permission of their supervisor, which will not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Length of School Year 4.6.1 Except where reduced by any lawful decision of the employer to close the school to students, the length of the school year for each school shall be determined according to the requirement that schools are required to be open for at least 380 half days in any one calendar year. 4.6.2 The normal teaching load of teachers in respect of any one year is therefore related to that requirement.

  • OTHER WORK 14.1 Owner may perform other work related to the Project at the site by Owner’s own forces, have other work performed by utility owners or let other direct contracts. If the fact that such other work is to be performed is not noted in the Contract Documents, written notice thereof will be given to Construction Contractor prior to starting any such other work. If Construction Contractor believes that such performance will involve additional expense to Construction Contractor or require additional time, Construction Contractor shall send written notice of that fact to Owner and Design Professional within seven (7) calendar days of being notified of the other work. If Construction Contractor fails to send the above required seven (7) calendar days’ notice, Construction Contractor will be deemed to have waived any rights it otherwise may have had to seek an extension to the Contract Time or adjustment to the Contract Amount. 14.2 Construction Contractor shall afford each utility owner and other contractor who is a party to such a direct contract (or Owner, if Owner is performing the additional work with Owner’s employees) proper and safe access to the site and a reasonable opportunity for the introduction and storage of materials and equipment and the execution of such work and shall properly connect and coordinate its Work with theirs. Construction Contractor shall do all cutting, fitting and patching of the Work that may be required to make its several parts come together properly and integrate with such other work. Construction Contractor shall be responsible for all damage to the work of others caused by the performance of its Work. Further, Construction Contractor shall not in any way cut or alter the work of others without first receiving the written consent of that other person and Design Professional. 14.3 If any part of Construction Contractor’s Work depends for proper execution or results upon the work of any other contractor or utility owner (or Owner), Construction Contractor shall inspect and promptly report to Design Professional in writing any delays, defects or deficiencies in such work that render it unavailable or unsuitable for such proper execution and results. Such report must be made within seven (7) calendar days of the time Construction Contractor first became aware of the delay, defect or deficiency or by the scheduled commencement of Construction Contractor’s dependent Work, whichever occurs first. Construction Contractor’s failure to report within the allotted time will constitute an acceptance of the other work as fit and proper for integration with Construction Contractor’s Work.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Work Period The normal work period shall consist of forty (40) hours of work within a seven (7) day period or eighty (80) hours of work within a fourteen (14) day period.
