NEW ORIENTATION. As part of the new hire orientation process, the University will inform all new employees hired in a position included in the bargaining unit of the Union’s exclusive recognition and the rights of the employees as set forth in the Agreement. NEW ORIENTATION. Where the Employer assigns an employee to orient a newly hired employee in this bargaining unit during her orientation period, the employee who is training will receive a premium of per hour and the newly hired person will receive a premium of per hour less than the start rate of her classification. These revised payments will apply only during the period of orientation which shall not normally exceed five (5) days. This provision only applies when an bargaining unit member is assigned to orient a newly-hired employee in this bargaining unit during her orientation period.
NEW ORIENTATION. The City will provide an opportunity for a Union Officer to meet new employees for an orientation session, at a time and duration agreeable to the Union and the City.
NEW ORIENTATION. The Company agrees that a Union representativewill be given an opportunity to meet with each new employee within regular working hours, without loss of pay, for fifteen minutes, during the first thirty days of employment for the purpose of acquainting the new employee with the benefits and duties of union membership and the employee's responsibilities and obligations to the company and the Union. A laid off employee who is notified to return to work must respond and present themselves for work not later than seven (7) days after such notification. Employees on layoff will continue to accumulate seniority for up to one (1) year for the purpose of vacation pay. 1) if an employee is discharged for just cause 2) if an employee is laid off and not recalled within twelve (12) months 3) if an employee voluntarily quits the employ of the Company 4) an employee who absents himself from his employment and does not notify the employer within three working days shall be deemed to have voluntarily quit his employment. SECTION All jobs will be bidtwice annuallyto be effective in the months of January and July. The job bids will be posted for ten (10) working days in a place where all employees will have an opportunity to view and select a bid. All bidding will be in accordance with seniority. Once completed, bids will take effect not later than ten (10) working days following the bid. Once bidding is complete, employees must remain on their bid choices untilthe next bid. Inthe event that a route is eliminated, either temporarily or permanently, the person on that route may displace the junior most employee in the unit on whose route he is qualified untilthe next bid provided they have the requisite ability to perform the work or until the route is restored.

  • Orientation The Employer shall provide planned and paid Orientation Programs of such content and duration as it deems appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Employer and the Nurses involved. Such Nurses will not be considered part of core staffing during their Orientation Program nor will they be provided with primary assignments.

  • Orientation and Training A transferring employee will be orientated separately to both or their new home in accordance with Article 20 the collective agreement of the designated employer.

  • New Employee Orientation The Union will provide each agency personnel director with the names and addresses of up to two (2) authorized Union representatives per agency to receive notice of each formal orientation meeting held by the Department. The notice will be sent as soon as such meetings are scheduled (but not less than ten (10) days in advance) and will include date, time and location. Due to operational exigencies, agencies may schedule an orientation which will provide the Union with less than the requisite ten (10) days' notice; however the Union shall be notified as soon as possible after the scheduling of the orientation and the Union representative shall be released from duty. Agencies shall routinely schedule orientations in a manner that will allow for the ten (10) day advance notice to the Union. During the formal orientation, the Union will be permitted to give a twenty (20) minute presentation which may include an enrollment in supplemental Union benefits. The parties shall encourage employee attendance, although attendance shall not be mandatory if an employee objects to attending the presentation. In the event a formal orientation meeting is not held, or the Union is unable to attend the formal orientation because the designated Union representatives cannot be released under Article 4, the Employer shall allow the Union representative and the employee(s) to meet during duty hours at a mutually agreed upon time and location for twenty (20) minutes Employee participation in these meetings shall be encouraged although an employee shall not be required to attend such a meeting.
