Paid Funeral Leave. Employees shall be provided up to three (3) days with pay for scheduled days missed from the date of death to the date following the funeral. Bereavement pay will be for members of the immediate family ‐ current spouse, son, daughter, brothers, sisters, father, mother, father‐in‐law, mother‐in‐law and grandchildren. Employees may request and may not be unreasonably denied up to three (3) personal leave of absence days from the date of death to the date following the funeral in the event of the death of a grandparent.

Paid Funeral Leave. All employees covered by this Agreement shall, in the event of the death of employee’s spouse, children of either spouse, parents of either spouse, or stepparents of either spouse (with the limit of two (2) parents) be entitled to three (3) consecutive days off to attend burial or funeral (days off to be the day of burial or day of funeral and either the day before and the day after or the two (2) days before or the two (2) days after the burial or funeral, but not both), with eight (8) hours pay at the straight time rate, payable only if the days of leave are regular scheduled workdays of the employee. Employees holding a ten (10) hour four (4) day run will be entitled to ten (10) hours pay at straight time rate payable only if the days of leave are regular scheduled work days. Funeral leave of two (2) days will be provided for the death of a brother, sister, grandparents, and grandchildren of any employee payable only if the days of leave are regular scheduled workdays of the employee, days off to be day of burial or funeral and either the day before or the day after.
Paid Funeral Leave. Full-time employees shall be eligible for paid funeral leave of up to three (3) days for funerals for the death of a member of the employee's immediate family, specifically to include child, mother, father, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, spouse, domestic partner, grandparent or grandchild. Funeral pay shall only be paid to the extent the employee misses regularly scheduled workdays. Part-time employees may receive the three (3) scheduled days off without pay as an excused absence. The HOTEL reserves the right to request verification/documentation of the need for the Bereavement Leave, for example an obituary or certificate of death, in order to provide compensation.
Paid Funeral Leave. In case of a death in the immediate family, the employee will be granted a leave of absence of three (3) days without loss of pay pursuant to the policy of the Employer. Immediate family is defined as: parents, parents‐in‐law, grandparents, grandchildren, brothers, brothers in law, sisters, sisters in law, sons, sons in law, daughters, daughters in law, spouse, step‐parents, step‐children, and dependent members of the employee’s household. Paid funeral leave will not be charged against accumulated sick leave. Employees required to travel and miss work for bereavement purposes for qualified family members under the paid leave language in this Agreement may be granted additional leave up to seven (7) calendar days. Employees requesting such additional leave shall be required to use available vacation time. Employees requiring more time may request a leave of absence, not to be unreasonably denied.

The immediate family shall be limited to spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, half brother, or half sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, natural grandparents or children of the employee. An employee shall be entitled to funeral pay only if he attends the funeral of the deceased family member.
Paid Funeral Leave. Regular employees shall receive the amount of pay they would have received on a regular eight (8) hour straight-time basis for each day necessarily lost during their normal scheduled work week not to exceed four (4) days to make arrangements for and attend the funeral of a member of their immediate family if the funeral is being held within a three hundred (300) mile radius of the City of Garden City. One additional day shall be allowed if the funeral is being held at a location greater than a three hundred (300) mile radius from the City of Garden City. For purposes of this Section, immediate family shall be defined as an employee's current spouse, children, parents or step-parent, but GCSPPA AGREEMENT 10/01/96 - 9/30/99 not both, brother, sister or parents-in-law. The leave days shall end not later than the, calendar day following the day of the funeral.
Paid Funeral Leave. In the event of death in a full-time employee's family, a funeral leave consistent with that provided to non-union employees will be granted.
