RIGHTS OF THE TEACHER. A. Any teacher shall have the right to present grievances and have them adjusted, without the intervention of the Association, as long as the adjustment is not inconsistent with the terms of this Agreement. An Association representative shall have the opportunity to be present at all formal levels of the procedure.

RIGHTS OF THE TEACHER. Monitoring Closed circuit television, public address, audio or visual systems, and similar devices shall be used only with the full agreement of the teacher. There shall be no monitoring/recording of the lounges and classrooms. If a teacher agrees to being videotaped, it will be erased after review and discussion with the supervisor. It is expressly understood that tapes are to be used in assisting the improvement in the teacher’s performance and will not be used as evidence in any disciplinary or dismissal proceedings. Teacher Protection of Responsibilities Teachers shall not be required to transport students. The Board will provide protection under a liability policy to teachers when they are authorized in writing to drive their own autos to transport students. The policy will supplement the present insurance of the teacher for property damage up to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) per accident and for bodily injury liability up to one million dollars ($1,000,000) per accident, subject to normal exclusions. Each teacher is free to join and participate in the activities of the teacher's organization of his choice. Teachers shall not be required to sell tickets or take tickets at any school-sponsored event. Sponsorship of clubs, organizations, and all other activities shall be voluntary. A teacher shall have the right to review the contents of his/her personnel file. The teacher may have a representative of the Association accompany him/her at such review. Nothing contained in a teacher's file may be used in an adverse manner against such teacher without the teacher's knowledge. Copies of reprimands placed in the teacher's file shall be given to the teacher. All copies shall be signed by the teacher and the administrator before being placed into said file. A teacher’s signature indicates knowledge of reprimand and does not constitute agreement of said reprimand. The assignment of mentoring non-tenured teachers shall be voluntary.
