Schedules of Work. The job duties of Lead PHNs and PHNs may necessitate work hours outside of the normal business day or on weekends. These employees are expected to set their schedules so that all of their job duties, including those requiring work outside of the normal business day or on weekends, can be effectively performed. When performance of these job duties requires work beyond eight hours in a day, the employee will be expected to flex his/her work hours during the work week to minimize any overtime. These employees are expected to coordinate their schedules, including the need for flexed work hours, with their supervisors to ensure that program needs are being met.

Schedules of Work. (a) The Employer will schedule the hours of work to meet operational requirements for employees on a fixed, rotating or irregular basis so that employees, on a weekly basis work an average of forty (40) hours and an average of five (5) days per week; and, work eight (8) consecutive hours per day, exclusive of one-half (½) hour meal period; (b) When establishing schedules of work the Employer shall consider the wishes of the majority of employees concerned. (c) The Employer will make every reasonable effort to: (i) not schedule the commencement of a shift within twelve (12) hours of the completion of the employee’s previous shift; and, (ii) to avoid excessive fluctuations in hours of work; and, (iii) not schedule more than six (6) consecutive days of work, unless otherwise requested by the employees; and, (iv) to schedule at least two (2) consecutive days of rest at a time. Such two (2) consecutive days of rest may be separated by a designated paid holiday. (d) Schedules of work shall be posted by the Employer at least fifteen (15) calendar days in advance of the starting date of the new schedule. Schedules of Work. (a) Employees will be given reasonable notice of any individual shift changes. (b) Employees will not be regularly scheduled with less than ten (10) hours between shifts. If an employee is ordered to work a schedule with less than ten (10) hours between shifts, in violation of the intent of the above sentence, he shall be paid time and one half for such hours between shifts.

Accordingly, the first day of rest will be deemed to start immediately after midnight of the calendar day on which the employee worked or is considered to have worked his or her last scheduled shift; and the second day of rest will start immediately after midnight of the employee's first day of rest, or immediately after midnight of an intervening designated paid holiday if days of rest are separated thereby. (f) An employee may be granted flexible hours of work provided that such arrangement does not interfere with operational requirements of the work unit in which the employee works. Schedules of Work. (A) Employees shall be designated as Shift, Scheduled, and Non- Shift employees. (B) Shift Employees (1) Shift employees are marked in Exhibit "A" of this agreement with the symbol "SH". The regular workweek shall consist of eight (8), ten (10) and/or twelve (12) hour shifts. Any 12 hour shift schedule will apply only to shift (SH) employees. Ten hour shifts for Operators can only be used for when they are working maintenance/training/relief week (maintenance relief week schedule shall be determined by management based on business need, in accordance with Section 2 (B) (2). Management may assign operating employees to a day shift to prepare for planned and forced outages, support projects, and procedure development for a period not to exceed four (4) months. For planned and forced outages expected to exceed forty-two (42) days or more, the period may be extended up to nine (9) months. Seniority will be respected in the reassignment of operating employees to the dayshift. To assist shift employees in their vacation planning, an annual shift rotation calendar shall be established and posted no later than December 31 for the following calendar year. Posting of this calendar does not restrict management from making schedule changes pursuant to Article VI. (a) Shift schedules shall remain in place on a year to year basis unless a change is requested by either the Company or employees no later than November 1 of the year prior to the requested change.
