Sick Leave Conversion to Vacation. After one (1) full calendar year of continuous employment and annually thereafter, nurses who have demonstrated superior attendance may qualify for the conversion of unused sick leave hours to vacation hours. If less than 32 hours have been paid as sick leave during the first calendar year of employment, up to 32 hours of accrued sick leave may be converted to 16 hours of (1) cash payment or (2) vacation credit and added to the nurse’s vacation accrual for use like any other vacation time. After three years of continuous employment and annually thereafter, nurses who have been paid less than 32 hours of sick leave during the prior calendar year of employment may convert up to 32 hours of accrued sick leave to 32 hours of (1) cash payment or (2) vacation credit and added to the nurse’s vacation accrual for use like any other vacation time. This benefit shall be prorated for eligible part-time nurses. Sick hours paid in the prior calendar year will be subtracted from the eligible hours. For example, a nurse who has taken 8 hours of sick leave during the prior calendar year may elect to convert 24 hours of sick leave to 12 hours of vacation or cash payment (32-8 = 24 ÷ 2 = 12). This ratio is 1:1 after three (3) years of employment.

Health club membership cost must be incurred and submitted for reimbursement within a reasonable period of time from when it was awarded. In lieu of the reimbursement, the employee has the option of utilizing sixteen (16) hours of perfect attendance leave, no cash out provision, from the pay period the perfect attendance leave is credited to the employee’s leave balances until the end of pay period 26 (or 27 when applicable) of that year. Failure to utilize perfect attendance leave by pay period 26 (or 27 when applicable) of the year in which it was credited to the employee’s leave balances or if an employee is appointed to a position in an occupational unit that does not contain a perfect attendance leave provision shall result in forfeiture of the same.

  • Sick Leave Conversion On January 1 of each year, an employee may convert up to a maximum of 30 hours accumulated sick leave at fifty percent (50%) cash value for the sole purpose of reimbursing the employee for medical costs. This conversion is subject to the following:

  • Vacation and Sick Leave At such reasonable times as the Board of Directors shall in its discretion permit, the Employee shall be entitled, without loss of pay, to absent himself voluntarily from the performance of his employment under this Agreement, with all such voluntary absences to count as vacation time; provided that:

  • Utilization of Sick Leave with Pay Temporary employees who have earned sick leave credits in their temporary appointment shall be eligible for sick leave for any period of absence from employment due to any of the following reasons: • illness; • bodily injury; • disability resulting from pregnancy; • necessity for medical or dental care; • if the employee is a victim of domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault, or stalking; or the parent or guardian of a minor child or dependent who is a victim of domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault or stalking, pursuant to ORS 659A.270 through 659A.290; • attendance at an employee assistance program; • exposure to contagious disease; • for the emergency repair of personal assistive devices which are medically necessary for the employee to perform assigned duties; • attendance upon members of the employee’s or the employee’s spouse’s immediate family, or the equivalent of each for domestic partners, (parent, wife, husband, children, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, or another member of the immediate household) where the employee’s presence is required because of illness or death; • parental leave. The employee has the duty to insure that they make other arrangements, within a reasonable period of time, for the attendance upon children or other persons in the employee’s care. Certification of an attending physician or practitioner may be required by the Agency to support the employee’s claim for sick leave if the employee is absent in excess of seven (7) days, or if the Agency has evidence that the employee is abusing sick leave privileges. The Agency may also require such certificate from an employee to determine whether the employee should be allowed to return to work where the Agency has reason to believe that the employee’s return to work would be a health hazard to either the employee or to others. (See Section 4 for FMLA and OFLA.)

  • Vacation and Holidays Executive will receive four weeks of paid vacation each year in addition to all holidays observed by the Company and its subsidiaries. Executive may carry over, in the aggregate, up to four weeks of unused vacation to a subsequent year. Any unused vacation time in excess of four weeks will not accumulate or carry over from one calendar year to the next. Each calendar year, Executive shall take not less than one (1) week vacation.

  • Conversion of Sick Leave 30 A. Based upon accrual as of July 1 each fiscal year, employees shall be allowed 31 to convert sick leave in accordance with the following schedule:

  • Pay for Unused Sick Leave Unused sick leave not to exceed 70 days will be paid at the rate of $50 per day when the teacher retires or leaves U.S.D. 506 employment, provided the teacher has a minimum of 10 years of service in U.S.D. 506. Article VI: Activity Ticket Each teacher of U.S.D. 506 shall be issued an activity ticket, which shall be honored at all regular school functions held within the district. Said ticket shall not be honored at basketball tournaments and special events. Said ticket shall be honored for employee, spouse, and children who have not yet graduated from high school. The Board of Education will have an expectation that those teachers in attendance at school functions will assume a reasonable amount of general supervision as needed.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.

  • SECTION 4 - VACATION 4.1 Employee shall be entitled to accrue and take vacation leave in accordance with the policy applicable to employees of Manitoba.

  • Payment for Unused Sick Leave a. An employee with less than ten (10) years of continuous University service, as defined herein, who separates from the University shall not be paid for any unused sick leave. For employees appointed on or before 1/7/03 University service includes continuous employment by the University or the State of Florida.
