Sick Leave for Family Illness a. Principals may use accumulated sick leave for major illness or injury of principal's mother, father, sister, brother, spouse or domestic partner, child, aunt, uncle, xxxxx, nephew, grandparents, grandchildren, mother/father-in-law, son/daughter-in-law, anyone who has the position of parent or child, or any person who has been a member of the principal's household for five (5) years or more immediately prior to the critical illness or death provided a minimum of fifteen (15) sick leave days are left.
Sick Leave for Family Illness. Employees may use up to 80 hours per calendar year of their current sick leave bank, if available, for leave from work to care for a family member who has a medical condition ("Paid Family Medical Leave"). Caring for a family member includes transporting the family member to and from a medical appointment related to the medical condition. The use of this Paid Family Medical Leave will be administered per current sick leave language. Medical documentation related to the family member's medical condition must be provided when requested. Failure to provide the medical documentation when requested will result in the Paid Family Medical Leave being denied. For purposes of this provision, "family member" exclusively includes the employee's: parent, biological or adopted child, spouse, domestic partner, biological or adopted grandchild, or grandparent. This Paid Family Medical Leave will run concurrent with FMLA leave, to the extent FMLA is applicable to the need for the leave, but will not run concurrent with any other paid leave for family members (i.e., Local 702 hospitalization). This Paid Family Medical Leave, a benefit to the employees, has been negotiated and duly bargained with the Unions representing the employees and shall be the full amount of paid leave available to employees for the purposes of caring for a family member with a medical condition, notwithstanding state or municipal laws that may otherwise provide for other similar types of paid leave.
Sick Leave for Family Illness. Up to thirty days of absence shall be allowed due to the serious illness of a teacher’s adult child, parent, stepparent, xxxxxx parent, spouse’s parent, domestic partner’s parent, grandparent, or sibling (AESOP category: illness family/other). Such absence shall be charged to sick leave, subject to Subd. 5. Requests to use sick leave for others not listed above may be submitted to the superintendent or designee.
Sick Leave for Family Illness. Up to ten (10) paid sick leave days per year may be used for the purposes specified in the first sentence of Section 16-04 or for the purpose of arranging for care of a sick member of the employee's immediate family as defined in Articles 17-05(a) and 18-01.

Sick Leave for Family Illness. Instructors may use up to three (3) days per fiscal year of sick leave to attend an immediate family member who is ill. The College may require submission of a certificate from a duly qualified medical practitioner, or recognized equivalent, certifying the illness of the immediate family member. For the purposes of this Article, immediate family member shall mean the instructor's spouse, child, or parent. The appropriate Vice-president may approve use of up to three (3) days per year of sick leave to attend to the illness of any other relative if living in the same household. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. With the approval of the appropriate Vice-president, funeral leave of one-half day will be granted, with pay, but not in addition to bereavement leave.
Sick Leave for Family Illness. When no one at home other than the employee can provide for the needs of an immediate member of his/her family, an employee shall be entitled, after notifying his Employer, to use a maximum of three (3) accumulated Sick Leave Days per year to care for the member of the family who is ill, provided that the employee deliver to the Employer a written statement confirming that there is no other person other than the employee available for providing care.
Sick Leave for Family Illness. Sick Leave may be used for serious illness of members of the immediate family requiring care and attendance of the employee. Use of sick leave for illness in the immediate family shall:
1) Be limited to a maximum of fifteen (15) days per school year.
2) Be limited to the immediate family which is defined as spouse, children, teacher’s parents or any person residing in the household.
3) If a teacher is absent due to a family illness for five (5) consecutive days, the teacher must provide a doctor’s statement attesting to the existence and nature of the illness and either the seriousness of the condition or the need for the teacher to care for the family member. If the employee fails to provide the requested documentation, the district may withhold sick leave until the basis for the leave has been established.
4) In the event of a catastrophic illness involving an immediate family member listed in 8.01 (a) 2, the employee may request use of their accumulated sick days up to their among available for retirement purposes. All requests must be in writing to the Superintendent. In the event a teacher needs to request days from the LTA sick bank, they must also take unpaid leave of absence days equal to the number o f family illness days used for each catastrophic family illness in addition to the requirements listed in 8.01 (b) g. This leave must also meet the requirements under the FMLA and shall fun concurrently with any leave awarded under 8.01 (a).
Sick Leave for Family Illness. A police officer may utilize five (5) sick days per year due to illness of a member of the officer's immediate family. Immediate family is defined and shall be limited to parents, spouse, children and step children. This provision does not in any way increase the number of sick days as provided in Section 9.05.
Sick Leave for Family Illness. It is the responsibility of each unit member to make arrangements for the care of members of his/her immediate family who become ill and require care. Recognizing, however, that there may be situations when it is not possible to effect such arrangements, a unit member shall be permitted to charge absence from work in the event of illness in the employee’s immediate family against accrued sick leave. As used in this section, “immediate family” shall be defined as a spouse, child, parent, grandparent, parent-in-law, sibling, or sibling-in- law, domestic partner, or any dependent with whom the employee resides.
