Statutory Holiday Entitlement. Regular full-time employees are entitled to a minimum of thirteen (13) statutory holidays a year. Employees who work less than full days or full weeks shall have statutory holidays pro-rated on the basis of hours of work per week relative to a full-time employee. Such employees shall be entitled to the pro-rated statutory holiday or the Employer shall pay the employees in lieu of such holiday at their regular rates of pay. In the event that the provincial government declares Truth and Reconciliation Day as a different day than the federal government, the parties agree that only the provincial holiday will be observed.
Statutory Holiday Entitlement. All employees shall have the following Statutory Holidays off with pay at the employee's regular rate of pay: New Year's Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day British Columbia Day Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day and any other school day proclaimed a holiday by the Federal, Provincial or Municipal Governments. An employee will be granted an alternate day off in lieu of a Statutory Holiday which falls on a day on which school is in session. This alternate day will be granted during the Christmas break. Any employee entitled to the alternate day and who cannot be given the alternate day off with pay, will be paid for the day involved. For the purpose of this Section, all new employees hired by the Employer shall have worked for the Employer at least fifteen (15) working days in the thirty (30) calendar day period immediately prior to the Statutory Holiday. Employees shall receive time off with pay for one-half (1/2) day before Christmas Day and one-half (1/2) day before New Year's Day, starting at twelve (12) noon in each instance, only when Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on Tuesday through Saturday, provided the employee is scheduled to work on these days.
