Assignments and Reassignments. This Agreement entitles the Student to occupy space in a Residence Hall, not a specific Room. The Student understands and agrees that the College has the right at any time to make all room assignments and reassignments as the College, in its sole and absolute discretion, may deem in the best interest of the College. The College also reserves the right to make temporary assignments and accommodations as well.
Assignments and Reassignments. The District shall make assignments and reassignments in such a manner that permanent and probationary adult education instructors are retained to render any service which their seniority and qualifications entitle them to render.

School site vacancies shall first be open to employees currently working at the particular school site where the vacancy has become available. After any and all reassignments have been made from within the school site, remaining vacancies will be posted on the District’s online application system. No transfer of any employee shall be made from one classification to another except for temporary or emergency assignment(s) as outlined above or by following the job posting procedure established by this agreement.

7.3.4 The District may involuntarily reassign employees for any of the following reasons: Educational needs of the District; Balancing the staff of a school or department; Changes in enrollment; Placement of personnel returning from leaves; Opening and closing of schools; or Reduction or elimination of staffing or programs.
7.3.5 No employee may be involuntarily reassigned as a means to punish.
7.3.6 Involuntary and voluntary reassignments shall be made based upon the educational needs of the District. In making its decision, the District shall consider the credential(s) and the educational background and experience of those being considered for involuntary and involuntary reassignments and any personal hardships of affected employees. When the qualifications, professional experience, and skills of two or more affected employees are deemed by the District to be equal, the District shall make a selection based on District seniority of those being considered.
7.3.7 In instances where an employee is involuntarily reassigned, the District shall agree in writing to return the employee to the previous assignment, provided the assignment still exists, at the beginning of the year immediately following their initial reassignment. In cases where the involuntary reassignment occurred to balance staff within a school or department, the employee may return to the previous assignment at the end of a two (2)-year term, provided the assignment still exists. The affected employee shall make this request in writing on the district- provided form at the time of the reassignment.

However, if the Association member initiates a request for such reassignment, his/her individual contract can be appropriately adjusted. The administrator transferred or reassigned involuntarily will continue to receive the daily rate of pay for the position from which he or she was transferred or the position to which he or she is being transferred, whichever is greater. The number of work days for the transferred administrator shall be established by mutual agreement. Should any Association position (or portion of a position) be considered for elimination, the Superintendent shall discuss the matter with the chairperson of the Association negotiation team prior to making a decision regarding the elimination of the position or a portion of a position. See Section X-A below regarding the School Board’s obligations with respect to position elimination. The date for notification to Administrators of contract non-renewal shall be April 1.

When either additions, reductions in staffing, or reassignments are being proposed for non-teaching personnel, these will be discussed with staff involved and an Association representative, if requested, before final recommendations are presented to the Board. The district will attempt to notify staff of room changes prior to the changes being effectuated, but the parties recognize that the ISD operates in buildings outside its control.
