ASSOCIATION LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Upon request by the Association, an administrator may be granted a leave of absence without pay to perform full-time official duties on behalf of the Association. Such leave of absence shall be for a period of up to one (1) year and may be extended for one or more additional periods of up to one (1) year or less at the request of the Association. Approved requests will not exceed one among the administrators represented by the Association, provided no adverse effect on the operations of any University results.

ASSOCIATION LEAVE OF ABSENCE. 3.0401 The Board will grant a leave of absence, with compensation, to six (6) Association delegates or alternates for attendance at the Ohio Education Association convention upon three (3) workdays’ advance notice to the Board’s Executive Director of Human Resources, but such leave shall not exceed two (2) workdays per employee in any school year. The Board shall pay for the compensation of any substitute personnel hired for the period of the leave of absence under this paragraph. In addition, the Board will grant the Association President or designee an aggregate of three (3) Association leave days with compensation per school year for members and leaders to attend other conferences and/or activities sponsored by the Ohio Education Association or the National Education Association. The Association agrees to provide at least fourteen (14) days notice of the request for such leave and to assume the cost of registration, lodging, meals and travel.
ASSOCIATION LEAVE OF ABSENCE. L26.01 Effective September 1, 2000, upon written request, the Board shall grant a leave of absence to an Employee who has been selected or appointed to a full-time Association position. The leave shall be without loss of salary, seniority or benefits provided the Association reimburses the Board for the supply cost of the leave for the Employee.

Leaves of absence granted under this section shall be treated in exactly the same manner as other official leaves in regard to right of re-employment, fringe benefits, etc. A leave of absence granted pursuant to this section shall not exceed six years in length.
ASSOCIATION LEAVE OF ABSENCE. 15.01 Upon written request by the Association, the Service shall grant leave of absence without pay to employees for the purpose of carrying out business for the Association. Such leave of absence would be without loss of benefits which had accumulated at the date of the commencement of the leave of absence and without loss of seniority. Upon return from said leave of absence, the employee will be placed in the same or a comparable position at not less than the current rate of pay for his classification prior to the commencement of the leave. In addition, time spent on such leave of absence will be considered as service for purposes of calculating vacation entitlement. Upon return, the employee may be required to successfully complete reasonable certification upgrades that are required for said position subject to Article 25 of this Agreement. The employee may also be required to pass a return to work medical acceptable to EOSH if the leave is longer than three (3) months.

ASSOCIATION LEAVE OF ABSENCE. A full-time leave of absence will be granted to a maximum of two Association members in any one school year for at least one semester for service as a State or National Association elected officer. Such Employees may request an extension of time for continuation in office and this request will not be unreasonably denied. In any event such request will not exceed four consecutive calendar years. Returning Association members shall receive credit for salary purposes for time spent on Association leaves of absence.

ASSOCIATION LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Leaves of absence without loss of wages, benefits, or other privileges to attend meetings, conventions and executive board meetings of the local, city, state, regional, and parent organizations shall be granted to the Association officers, Unit Chairpersons, and elected delegates of the Association, provided that such leaves for State Council meetings shall not exceed two (2) meetings and 150 employee/days per contract year and that such leaves for executive board meetings shall not exceed eight (8) meetings and 150 employee/days per contract year. Time off without loss of wages, benefits, or other privileges shall be granted to Association negotiating committee members for attendance at negotiating sessions and related Association caucuses.
