Committee Duties. The Professional Development Committee may also make recommendations related to alternative training programs utilizing:
a. Release time
b. Federal reimbursement program
c. Regularly scheduled College courses
d. Facilities and equipment usage
e. Workshops and seminars including community and state sponsored
f. On–the–job training
g. Development of a skills file
Committee Duties. In addition to duties under government laws and regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the committee shall:
(a) Conduct monthly workplace inspections in order to identify hazards in the workplace. The workplace inspection team shall be comprised of no less than one (1) union representative. Employer representatives, if any, shall not outnumber the union representatives at any time. The inspection team shall report their findings to the Employer immediately following the workplace inspection. The committee shall meet as soon as possible after the inspection to discuss the inspection findings and make recommendations to address any hazards identified.
(b) The union co-chairpersons, or their designate, shall have the responsibility and right to accompany a government inspector on every inspection or visit to the workplace.
(c) Investigate all accidents, dangerous occurrences or near misses and known or suspected occupation illnesses or disease and ensure that recommendations are made to prevent their recurrence. All investigations shall be conducted by the co-chairpersons of the committee or their designate, and shall also include a worker who is knowledgeable in the type of work involved.
(d) Based on findings recommended to management appropriate workplace modifications to address the following ergonomic risks: the physical demands of work activity, aspects of the layout of the workplace or workstation, the characteristics of objects handled, environmental conditions and the organization of work.
(e) Review any plans for new technology, equipment, personal protective equipment, supplies, processes, materials, systems or procedures before they are implemented in the workplace to ensure that no hazards are introduced in the workplace.
(f) Recommend implementation of hazard prevention procedures for every hazard identified in the workplace using the following hierarchy: elimination of the hazard, substitution of a less hazardous element, reduction of exposure to the hazard and finally control measures including the use of personal protective equipment.
(g) Develop and delivery training programs to the workforce.
Committee Duties. The Committee shall administer the Plan and shall have all discretion and powers necessary for that purpose, including, but not by way of limitation, full discretion and power to interpret the Plan, to determine the eligibility, status, and rights of all persons under the Plan and, in general, to decide any dispute and all questions arising in connection with the Plan. The Committee shall direct the Company, the Trustee, or both, as the case may be, concerning distributions in accordance with the provisions of the Plan. The Committee shall maintain all Plan records except records of any Trust. The Committee shall publish, file, or disclose — or cause to be published, filed, or disclosed — all reports and disclosures required by federal or state laws. The Committee may authorize one or more of its members or agents to sign instructions, notices, and determinations on its behalf.
Committee Duties. Volunteers that participate on committees, at the request of the Fire Chief, or at the request of the Chief’s designate, shall receive the hourly rate identified at Schedule “A”.
Committee Duties. This Plan shall be administered by the Compensation Committee, or the Senior Vice President of Human Resources acting as the Plan Administrator. References to the "Compensation Committee" in the Plan shall include the Senior Vice President of Human Resources acting in his capacity as Plan Administrator. The Committee or its designee shall have the authority to make, amend, interpret and enforce all appropriate rules and regulations for the administration of the Plan and decide or resolve any and all questions, including interpretations of the Plan, as they may arise in such administration. A majority vote of the Committee members shall control any decision.
Committee Duties. Each committee shall perform such duties and assume such responsibili- ties as may be assigned to it by the Board of Directors or as may be delegated to it through the State Constitution or State By-Laws of this Union.
(A) The Governmental Affairs Committee shall have oversight of the Union’s Legislative program and, as such, shall have oversight and general supervision of the endorsement of any candidates for public office by this Union as provided in the State By-Laws. The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Board of Directors shall constitute the OCSEA Political Action Committee (OCSEA-PAC). All expenditures of OCSEA-PAC funds shall be made only by the OCSEA-PAC or with the approval of the OCSEA-PAC in the manner adopted by the OCSEA-PAC. The OCSEA-PAC shall report its actions to the Board of Directors at its regular bi-monthly meetings. Chapter, District Council, and Assembly PAC’s are prohibited.
(B) The Membership and Public Relations Committee shall review and recommend those programs, current or proposed, which deal with the recruit- ment and retention of the Union’s membership to the Board of Directors. This committee shall also offer input regarding the Union’s relations with the vari- ous media and the internal communications of the Union.
(C) The Finance Committee shall review and make recommendations regarding all finances, general resources of the Union, income and disburse- ments to the Board of Directors. The Finance Committee shall also review the annual budget for recommendation to the Board of Directors.
(D) The Alternative Contracts Committee shall (1) develop and review issues pertaining to all negotiated collective bargaining agreements other than the main state employee collective bargaining agreement and (2) have input into developing educational and informational formats dedicated to the affected membership.
(E) The Judicial and Internal Affairs Committee (JIAC) shall oversee the resolution of matters, except those related to staff, pertaining to disputes or irregularities at any level of the union, including but not limited to, Chapter, District Councils, and Assemblies. JIAC shall have the authority to investigate and review the continued viability of Chapters, District Councils or Assemblies due to changes in membership, size, agency mergers, work place reloca- tions, etc., and make the appropriate recommendations to the Board. Committee Duties. This Agreement shall be administered by a Committee, which shall consist of the Compensation Committee, or such committee as the Compensation Committee shall appoint. The Committee shall have the discretion and authority to (i) make, amend, interpret and enforce all appropriate rules and regulations for the administration of this Agreement, (ii) make benefit entitlement determinations, and (iii) decide or resolve any and all questions including interpretations of this Agreement, as may arise in connection with the Agreement.

Committee Duties. The duties of the Project Committee shall be as specified in this Agreement and as determined in writing by the parties, so long as such written determination is not inconsistent with this Agreement unless the parties amend the Agreement accordingly.
