Cultural Resources Report. This scope of work has been prepared to meet methodological and reporting requirements for future permitting and review by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) requirements for cultural resources in support of the proposed Project. For the purposes of this scope, we assume that the direct Project area of potential effects (APE) consists of approximately 1,228 acres. Xxxxx previously completed a records search of the Project site APE and surrounding 0.5-mile radius at the Central California Information Center (CCaIC). Xxxxx also previously contacted the Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC) and has the resulting Sacred Lands File search and Contact List of tribal individuals and organizations that may have additional information concerning resources in the vicinity. We do not anticipate that an additional records search or NAHC search would be required. As part of the inventory process, and following approval from the County and the applicant, letters will be emailed to individuals on the NAHC contact list notifying them of the Project and requesting any information concerning resources that may be impacted by the Project. Non-responsive contacts will be called within 2-weeks following the emailed letters. This information will be included in the final cultural report and will be intended to provide a baseline record of tribal coordination required by the USACE Guidelines. This outreach will be independent of the AB 52 process. Xxxxx can also assist with questions relating to compliance with Assembly Bill (AB) 52, if requested by the County. We assume no more than one round of letters, calls, and emails to NAHC-listed tribal representatives will be required. Following archival research, Xxxxx will complete an intensive-level pedestrian survey of the APE to determine the presence of any cultural resources. This is anticipated to take three (3) archaeologists no more than ten (10) days of survey. We assume no Native American monitor will be necessary during the survey. For the purposes of this scope, Xxxxx assumes that no archeological resources will be identified during survey of the APE. Should archeological resources be identified additional out of scope documentation will be required, including, at a minimum, documentation of resources using Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) 523 forms in order to meet practice standards for Inventory required by the California O...

The Cultural Resources Report shall include recommendations for additional work, site evaluation, cultural resources monitoring during project implementation, and/or actions to follow in the event of an inadvertent discovery of cultural materials or human remains. Cultural Resources Report. CONSULTANT shall undertake a records search including a review of site records, survey reports, National and California register listings, as well as other relevant documents from the Northwest Information Center of the California Historical Resources Information System, administered by Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park. The area of study will be the Area of Potential Effects (APE) plus a one-quarter-mile buffer. The review will provide information on whether any portions of the project area have been recently surveyed, and whether any previously recorded resources exist within the study area. CONSULTANT shall conduct all necessary consultation with the Native American Heritage Commission and all Native American groups/interested parties identified by the Commission, including letters and maps describing the project, and follow-up calls. CONSULTANT shall undertake a field survey of the project footprint to look for evidence of cultural materials. Extended Phase I fieldwork (backhoe trenching and/or coring), is also included in this scope. However, it is assumed that the results of the testing will be negative (i.e., no cultural resources are present). A cultural resources report will be prepared by CONSULTANT that describes the findings of the research and the fieldwork. If impacts from the project are anticipated to be significant, mitigation measures will be described. This scope does not include the evaluation of buildings within or adjacent to the project alignment for their potential historical significance.
