Employee Training and Development. It is recognized that employee attendance at job related courses, seminars, trade shows, etc. can have value to the Company and contribute to employee development. Consideration will be given to such attendance and employees are encouraged to bring forward their suggestions. Fees for authorized courses will be paid for by the Company and travel costs will be paid in accordance with the Company Policy and Procedure on travel. The above does not apply to courses approved under the Company’s Tuition Refund program.

Employee Training and Development. Required employee training sessions shall, whenever possible, be conducted during regular work hours. The employee shall be compensated for any necessary expenses the employee is required to incur by the Board. Employees required to attend training sessions outside of the regular work hours may elect compensation at the rate of time and one-half for hours spent beyond regular work hours, or alternatively, may elect released or compensatory time off, provide such time off is arranged with the approval of the employee(s’) immediate supervisor, as provided in Section 8.7 of this Agreement. The Association acknowledges on behalf of members of the bargaining unit that employee attendance at training sessions required by law is a mandatory term and condition of employment. Failure to attend such required training may result in employee discipline, which may include termination. The Association shall have two (2) representatives selected by the Association President serving on the Professional Growth Committee

Employee Training and Development. The Manager shall provide a formal training program for all new hires to develop their skills and abilities for achieving quality work performance. The program should involve classroom and field instruction, encourage employee participation, etc. Manager’s training program shall include but not be limited to cash handling and cashier training, reporting procedures, maintenance and safety standards and inspections, ticket transactions, professional conduct, customer service and effective communication techniques, dispute handling, OSHA, ethics, diversity and cultural sensitivity, anti-harassment and workplace violence, emergency and safety procedures and security measures. Manager shall provide refresher training courses to existing employees annually and submit a copy of their proposed Training Program.
Employee Training and Development. SECTION 1. The Employer is responsible under the Government Employees Training Act for establishing training programs to increase efficiency and effectiveness. The Employer will publicize training opportunities in those areas and inform the employees how to apply for this training for self-development. SECTION 2. The Union will stress to employees of the Unit the need for self-development and self-initiated training to increase their efficiency and enhance their career potential. SECTION 3. The Employer recognizes the importance of training and will ensure that employees occupying the same type of positions will receive equal consideration to participate in training consistent with their qualifications and work experience.
