General Leave, Unpaid. 23.1.1 Except as otherwise specified in the Agreement, an employee may apply for and be granted general leave for good and sufficient reason acceptable to the Employer. Employees requesting such leave will file written application to the President who will determine, on the basis of the merits of the application and the Institute’s operating situation, whether such leave will be granted.
General Leave, Unpaid. (a.) An unpaid General Leave of Absence may not exceed one (1) calendar year. Such request must be in writing to the Human Resources Department. Such leaves may be extended for a period not to exceed one (1) year if approved by the Superintendent/Designee.

General Leave, Unpaid. (a) Full or part-time leave of absence without pay may be granted at the discretion of the College. Applications shall be made in writing to the Administrator responsible. All applications will be dealt with promptly and will not be unreasonably denied, nor dealt with in a discriminatory manner. The reply to an application for leave will be in writing. Leave requests from faculty who are in his/her probationary term will not ordinarily be granted. Except in the case of leaves for short-term emergencies of thirty (30) days or less, the College may, at its discretion, require that the length of a leave coincide with the beginning or end of a semester or term of instruction.
General Leave, Unpaid. Non-instructional faculty members may receive, on written application to the appropriate Senior Administrator, permission to be absent from the University-College, without pay.

  • Extended Unpaid Leave Upon written request, a permanent employee who has completed two (2) years of service shall be granted unpaid leave to a maximum of twelve (12) months, subject to the operational requirements of the Employer's operations and the availability of qualified replacement staff. An employee shall be entitled to up to a maximum of twelve (12) months unpaid leave for each two (2) years of service with the understanding that no employee can have more than twelve (12) consecutive months of unpaid leave at any one time. While on such leave employees shall continue to accumulate service, unless they would have been otherwise laid off, for seniority purposes only. The minimum amount of unpaid leave an employee may have under this Clause is eight (8) weeks. An employee will not be granted extended unpaid leave to take another position with the same Employer whether inside or outside a bargaining unit.

  • Extended Unpaid Maternity Leave (a) An employee is entitled to apply for leave without pay following Maternity Leave (“extended unpaid Maternity Leave”) to extend their leave by up to two years.

  • Other Unpaid Leaves 1. The Board will grant an unpaid leave for a period of up to one (1) year to a teacher for illness or disability, eldercare, extended or family illness. The teacher may request that his/her teaching position be reduced to a part-time position with the School Corporation during this leave. Upon the teacher’s return from said leave, the School Corporation will follow the guidelines set forth under A.5. above.

  • CONTRIBUTIONS WHILE ON UNPAID LEAVE As set forth in Administrative Code section 16.701(b), covered employees who are not in active service for more than twelve (12) weeks, shall be required to pay the Health Service System for the full premium cost of membership in the Health Service System, unless the employee shall be on sick leave, workers’ compensation, mandatory administrative leave, approved personal leave following family care leave, disciplinary suspensions or on a layoff holdover list where the employee verifies they have no alternative coverage.

  • Advanced Sick Leave A. An employee may be advanced a maximum of two-hundred forty (240) hours of sick leave. An employee serving under a limited appointment or one that will be terminated on a specified date may be advanced the total sick leave that the employee would otherwise earn during the term of the appointment.

  • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.

  • Pay for Unused Sick Leave Unused sick leave not to exceed 70 days will be paid at the rate of $50 per day when the teacher retires or leaves U.S.D. 506 employment, provided the teacher has a minimum of 10 years of service in U.S.D. 506. Article VI: Activity Ticket Each teacher of U.S.D. 506 shall be issued an activity ticket, which shall be honored at all regular school functions held within the district. Said ticket shall not be honored at basketball tournaments and special events. Said ticket shall be honored for employee, spouse, and children who have not yet graduated from high school. The Board of Education will have an expectation that those teachers in attendance at school functions will assume a reasonable amount of general supervision as needed.

  • Unpaid Leave 6. Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.
