General Leave, Unpaid. A temporary workload reduction is for a period of time not to exceed two (2) years.
General Leave, Unpaid. 23.1.1 Except as otherwise specified in the Agreement, an employee may apply for and be granted general leave for good and sufficient reason acceptable to the Employer. Employees requesting such leave will file written application to the President who will determine, on the basis of the merits of the application and the Institute’s operating situation, whether such leave will be granted.
General Leave, Unpaid. Note: Additional provisions regarding Leaves are contained in the Common (provincial) Agreement dated April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2010. Such Leave provisions are contained in Article 7 of the Common Agreement.
(a) Full or part-time leave of absence without pay may be granted at the discretion of the College. Applications shall be made in writing to the Administrator responsible. All applications will be dealt with promptly and will not be unreasonably denied, nor dealt with in a discriminatory manner. The reply to an application for leave will be in writing. Leave requests from faculty who are in his/her probationary period will not ordinarily be granted. Except in the case of leaves for short-term emergencies of thirty (30) days or less, the College may, at its discretion, require that the length of a leave coincide with the beginning or end of a semester or term of instruction.
(b) Where a leave approximating one (1) year in length is granted, the faculty member's contract shall be deemed to be extended from August 31st of the year of expiration stated in the contract to August 31st next following.
(c) No salary increment is payable for a period of leave of absence without pay unless the College President, upon written request from the faculty member concerned, decides the leave is spent in activities relevant to the College curriculum. In this case the faculty member will receive any salary adjustments for which he/she would normally be eligible. In the event that the College President judges that the activities are not relevant to the College curriculum, he/she will advise the faculty member as to the reasons for his/her decision in writing before the leave commences.
(d) No benefits shall be payable by the College for an employee on leave without pay, except as provided in this Agreement. If an employee proceeding on leave without pay makes a prior payment to the College of both the employee's share and the College's share of any or all of the following benefits, the College shall remit these payments to ensure continuing coverage: life insurance, medical services, and dental plan, subject to the College's contract with the insurer.
(e) The College will contribute its share of life insurance, medical and dental premiums on behalf of employees proceeding on maternity or adoption leave if the employee's contributions are remitted within fifteen (15) days of proceeding on leave, subject to the College's contract with the insurer.

General Leave, Unpaid. (a.) An unpaid General Leave of Absence may not exceed one (1) calendar year. Such request must be in writing to the Human Resources Department. Such leaves may be extended for a period not to exceed one (1) year if approved by the Superintendent/Designee.
(b.) Such leaves may be granted for Education, personal or other individual circumstances. (

(d.) The district will discontinue all wages and benefits for the duration of a general leave of absence except that the employee may make arrangements to pay the premium for life and health insurance at the prevailing group rate if allowable.
General Leave, Unpaid. Non-instructional faculty members may receive, on written application to the appropriate Senior Administrator, permission to be absent from the University-College, without pay. Non-instructional faculty members (except technicians) whose length of assignment is thus reduced from eleven months to ten months shall be paid according to the salary scale for instructors (Appendix A) rather than the salary scale of Article 11.1.3.
12.15.1 A partial or full release Leave of Absence from the University-College may be granted to a faculty member at his/her request by the University-College Board on the recommendation of the President for a maximum period of three consecutive years. The decision to grant the leave shall be based on the Standard of Reasonableness. Requests should be submitted to the appropriate Xxxx, with 3 month's notice required.
12.15.2 Faculty members on a full release leave of absence may maintain their benefit plans by monthly payments of the full faculty and employer shares. Faculty members on a partial release leave of absence shall continue to contribute to the benefit plans as provided in Article 13 .
12.15.3 Faculty members on a Leave of Absence shall bank their accrued seniority credits earned up until the commencement of the leave. No seniority credits shall be granted for the leave period (except under Article 12.15.
