HOURS OF WORK ARRANGEMENTS. 6.1 Ordinary hours of work – full time employee
6.2 Ordinary hours of work – part-time employee
HOURS OF WORK ARRANGEMENTS. 6.1 Ordinary hours for full time employees? Full time employees will work 76 ordinary hours per fortnight. All employees will be entitled to a minimum of 4 rostered days off per two weekly cycles. No more than seven (7) consecutive days shall be worked without a break of 48 hours. More than 7 consecutive days can be worked through mutual consent.
6.2 Hours of work for part-time employees?
6.2.1 Part-time employees are required to be available to work a minimum of 8 hours and a maximum of 37 hours within a period of one week.
6.2.2 The ordinary rostered hours will be the minimum for which the employee will be paid in that roster cycle. Part-time employees receive the entitlements as a full time employee pro-rata to their average weekly hours of work. Part-time employees will be entitled to a minimum of 4 rostered days off per fortnight. No more than 8 consecutive days shall be worked without a break of 48 hours.
6.3 Rostering arrangements for full time and part-time employees Rostered to work over a fortnightly cycle, rosters for the fortnight will be posted seven days in advance. Rosters may be changed at any time by mutual consent or alternatively by amendment on 48 hours notice. In cases where the operations of the Hotel are seriously disrupted due to events beyond the control of such as airline strikes, floods, storms, cyclones, receivership or liquidation of the Hotel, or where there is an unexpected increase in guest demand, the Hotel may either shorten increase your shifts. The family or personal commitments of the employee at the time must be taken into account. Volunteers may be sought first. The arrangement will be on a pre-determined period only. Once the roster has been altered, the Supervisor will make amendment to the employees’ original roster showing clearly the changes made.
6.4 Arrangements for varying the length of a shift for part-time employees
6.4.1 The Hotel will endeavour to provide an accurate forecast as much as possible the number of actual hours to be worked each day for a part time employee.
6.4.2 In order to provide for flexibility due to fluctuations in customer demand, the company may:
a) extend the hours of work for a part timer during the shift without incurring overtime as long as: 🟋 the total number of hours worked during the shift does not extend 12 hours 🟋 the total hours worked per week does not exceed 37, 🟋 the family or personal commitments of the employee at the time must be taken into account at when extending t...

6.1 Ordinary hours of work
6.1.1 Full time employees will be rostered to work 76 hours with 4 days off per two week cycle.
6.1.2 Part-time employees will be rostered to work a range of hours up to 76 hours per two week cycle.
6.1.3 A minimum shift of 2 hours up to a maximum of 11.5 ordinary hours may be worked.
6.1.4 Reasonable additional hours may be worked as mutually agreed at the ordinary hourly rate. Additional hours which in the employee’s view are unreasonable or unacceptable may be declined having regard to health and safety, family responsibilities and other personal circumstances of the employee.

7.2 Reasonable additional hours
7.2.1 Reasonable additional hours in excess of a 12 hour shift or in excess of 76 hour 2-week cycle may be worked as mutually agreed at the ordinary hourly rate.
7.2.2 The additional hours which in the employee’s view are unreasonable or unacceptable may be declined having regard to health and safety, family responsibilities and other personal circumstances of the employee.

1.2 That work is best achieved when individuals manage their own time and accept the accountability and the responsibility for the results. 37.
1.3 That processes for negotiating and establishing hours of work arrangements will be uniform across the IMO, and accessible to all. The processes will be designed to ensure equitable treatment. However the results of applying the processes may differ across the IMO. 37.
1.4 That decisions should be made at the most appropriate level that is closest to the work being done.

8.2 Ordinary hours for part-time employees
a) Part time grid 1 is based on 40 hours with a range up to 80 hours per 4- week cycle.
b) Part time grid 2 is based on 80 hours with a range up to 100 hours per 4-week cycle.
c) Part time grid 3 is based on 100 hours with a range up to 152 hours per 4-week cycle.
