JURY DUTY/COURT APPEARANCES. A) Time will be allowed for Jury Duty or Subpoenaed Witness Service without loss of pay or service credit. As full pay will be issued by the Board, any remuneration received for Jury or Witness Service will be turned over to the Board minus the value, supported by receipts, of any extra expenses caused by such service. B) A teacher facing court appearances will be given the time to plead the case with no loss of service credit. At the discretion of the Director, the teacher may be required to reimburse the Board for the cost of a replacement teacher.
JURY DUTY/COURT APPEARANCES. An Employee shall be granted jury duty leave of absence without loss of pay. An Employee may be granted leave without loss of pay to appear as a subpoena witness for lawsuits not initiated by the Employee.
JURY DUTY/COURT APPEARANCES. (a) Full-time regular employees and regular part-time employees summoned to jury duty shall be paid wages amounting to the difference between the amount paid them for jury service and the amount they would have earned had they worked on such days. Employees on jury duty shall furnish the Employer with such statements of earnings as the courts may supply. Employees shall return to work within a reasonable period of time. They shall not be required to report if less than two (2) hours of their normal shift remains to be worked. Total hours on jury duty and actual work on the job in the office in one (1) day shall not exceed normal working hours for purposes of establishing the basic work day. Any time worked in the office in excess of the combined total of the standard day shift shall be considered overtime and paid as such.
JURY DUTY/COURT APPEARANCES. An Employee shall be excused from work with pay for jury duty or if subpoenaed for appearance in court concerning matters related to the Employee’s duties, provided the matter is not a claim brought by the Employee or the Association against the District.
JURY DUTY/COURT APPEARANCES. When an employee is called for and serves as a subpoenaed witness, on a Port related case, or is called for and serve on jury duty, that employee shall, during such service period, receive full regular compensation from the Port, less any compensation received from the court for such service (excluding travel, meals, or other expenses). Employees shall give to management any funds received from the court within seven (7) days of returning to work. Port compensation for jury duty only applies to absence from regularly scheduled work hours. For service on a Port related case as a subpoenaed witness, Port compensation outside of regularly scheduled work hours is payable at the overtime rate if such service is in excess of the normal daily or normal weekly working hours' schedules. This Article shall not be construed to include either grievances or arbitrations as defined in Article 24 of this Agreement.
JURY DUTY/COURT APPEARANCES. 1. All employees will receive their regular base pay for Jury Duty performed during their regularly scheduled working hours. The County encourages employees to fulfill their civic obligations and responsibilities with respect to Jury Duty. Only in exceptional cases will the County request that an employee be excused. 2. When an employee is subpoenaed to appear as a witness during work time before a Court, Legislative Committee, or a Judicial or quasi-Judicial body, he/she shall be granted the necessary time off without loss of regular pay unless the employee is a party or a witness for a party in which the County is the opposing party, or he/she is a party or a witness in a matter unrelated to his/her capacity as an employee of the County. 3. Employees must notify their immediate supervisor that they have been summoned for jury duty/court appearance upon notification. Evidence of such notification shall be submitted to the immediate supervisor. 4. An employee who is notified in advance by the Court that he/she need not be present in Court on any specific working day is required to report to work on that day as usual. 5. An employee who is released from a Court located in Atlantic County at least two hours prior to the end of their shift, must return to work for the remainder of their shift, unless serving out of the County.

JURY DUTY/COURT APPEARANCES. Any regular seniority employee who is called for jury duty shall be paid his/her regular rate of pay for all days the employee serves on the jury. The Employer agrees to pay such amount upon presentation of proof by the employee. The Employer may deduct from the jury duty pay amounts received by the employee from the government for jury duty. Due to the critical nature of the service provided by the employees, and the likelihood that suitable replacements may not be available, the employee and Employer will jointly cooperate to limit any potential disruption as a result of jury duty. When an employee is required by the Employer or subpoena to appear in any court for the purpose of testifying because of any work related accident or conduct he may have been involved in or witnessed during working hours, such employee shall be reimbursed in full by the Employer for all earning opportunity lost because of such appearance. This section shall not apply to any subpoena issued or appearance required in cases in which the employee is a party, unless required by Section 10-20.20 of the School Code, 105 ILCS 5/10-20.20.

Any jury or witness fees will be endorsed over to the Employer. In the event that an employee is excused from jury duty prior to the end of the employee’s daily work shift, the employee shall promptly return to work. 11.3.1 Employees shall not be eligible for leave with pay under Section 11.3 if the subpoena is for a non-work related dispute in which the employee is either the plaintiff or defendant, or is for a dispute between the employer and employee. The employee is entitled to use any accrued vacation in these circumstances. Union related arbitrations are exempt if they occur on an employee’s regularly scheduled work day.

Any jury or witness fees will be endorsed over to the Employer. In the event that an employee is excused from jury duty prior to the end of the employee’s daily work shift, the employee shall promptly return to work. Employee’s participating in jury duty lasting more than half of their scheduled work day will be compensated for time equal to their scheduled work day. 11.3.1: Employees shall not be eligible for leave with pay under Section 11.3 if the subpoena is for a dispute between the Employer and employee. In instances where the dispute is with the Employer, the employee is entitled to use any accrued vacation in these circumstances. Union related arbitrations are exempt if they occur on an employee’s regularly scheduled work day.
