Jury Duty or Court Witness Leave. 1. Where an employee is absent by reason of a summons to serve as a juror, or a subpoena as a witness in any proceeding, including a coroner’s inquest, to which the employee is not one of the persons charged, regular salary will be continued without loss of sick leave, but the employee must pay to the Employer any fee received as a juror or a witness.

Jury Duty or Court Witness Leave. Leave of absence will be granted to a regular employee who is required to perform Jury Duty and/or Xxxxxxx's Jury Duty, who is required to appear as a Crown Witness or a Coroner's Witness on a day on which they would normally work. The employee will be reimbursed by the Employer for the difference between the pay received for the said jury or witness duty and their regular straight time hourly rate of pay for their regular scheduled work hours. The employee shall be required to furnish proof of jury or witness service and the jury or witness pay received. Hours paid for under this provision shall be counted as hours worked for the purpose of qualifying for vacation and for recognized holiday pay but will not count as hours worked for the purpose of computing overtime.
Jury Duty or Court Witness Leave. Every employee of District who is summoned or required to serve as a trial juror is entitled to be absent from District during the period of service up to a maximum of 30 work days. Such employee, except temporary employees, will be paid the employee’s regular salary and except for travel, meals, and lodging payments. Any money received for jury or court witness services is to be deposited with the District. If an employee is required to perform jury duty in excess of thirty work days, the employee will be able to use all accrued earn leave balances, except sick leave, for service time after thirty work days. The time spent on jury duty is not work time for purposes of calculating overtime compensation. An employee subpoenaed to appear in court in a matter unrelated to his or her District job duties or because of civil or administrative proceedings that he or she initiated does not receive compensation for time spent related to those proceedings. An employee may request to receive time off without pay, or may use accrued vacation for time spent related to those proceedings. The time spent in these proceedings is not considered work time.
