MEAL PERIODS AND COFFEE BREAKS. 17.1 The Authority shall continue its informal practice of permitting food and beverages to be consumed at convenient periods throughout the working day.

Said unpaid meal period shall be provided to all employees who are working shifts of five hours or more which shall be scheduled as close to the mid-point of the shift as possible, however, in no case shall such meal break be scheduled before the third hour nor later than the fifth hour.
b) (1998) Employees shall be allowed two (2) fifteen (15) minute coffee breaks each day, one during the first half of their assignment and one during the second half of their assignment. Employees with an assignment of six (6) hours or less shall be allowed only one (1) coffee break per day. Coffee breaks shall be scheduled on a daily basis by the department head taking into consideration the needs of the operation.

A one (1) hour lunch period must be taken by all employees, including on-air at some time throughout the day, preferably midway through the tour of duty, if this does not interfere with the operation of the Company. Voice could be used to set up a reasonable meal period. These employees shall also be entitled to and shall receive two (2) fifteen (15) minute break periods during each tour of duty. These break periods shall not be taken during the first or last hour of a tour of duty. News, Sports and Announcers will not receive the two
MEAL PERIODS AND COFFEE BREAKS. All employees will be allowed a coffee break without loss of pay not in excess of fifteen (15) minutes in the first half of the shift and a similar break in the second half of the shift. All employees shall be allowed twenty (20) minutes for lunch without deduction in pay. City Drivers working on night shifts shall receive effective January per week, in addition to their regular rate of pay. A night shift is defined as any regular shift where the shift starts at or later. The shift premium will be prorated on a daily basis. When an employee is required to work overtime for more than two (2) hours continuous with completion of that employee's regular shift, he will be allowed without deduction of pay, a twenty (20) minutes break.

All employees will be allowed a coffee break without loss of pay not in excess of fifteen (15) minutes in the first half of the shift and a similar break in the second half of the shift. All employees will be allowed a lunch break of thirty (30) minutes without deduction in pay. If the shift is in excess of ten (10) hours, a second lunch break of thirty (30) minutes without deduction in pay will be allowed.
MEAL PERIODS AND COFFEE BREAKS. Each bargaining unit member shall be allowed a paid meal period per tour of duty, subject to work load. These meal periods will not be taken during the first or last hour of work. During the meal period, a bargaining unit member will be subject to priority calls only. Subject to supervisor approval, the dispatcher will advise officers and lab personnel when they can take their meal breaks. Administrative personnel and those bargaining unit members temporarily assigned as administrative personnel will have a one (1) hour unpaid lunch break. Officers and lab personnel will be allowed to take two (2) work breaks up to fifteen (15) minutes each, while in-service, but subject to priority “1” and priority “2” calls, as long as they maintain contact with the dispatcher. Bargaining unit members covered by this agreement shall not be allowed to accumulate break time from one day to the next.

Employees shall be entitled to one (1 one-hour meal period each working day which shall be scheduled to start not later than five (5) hours after the start of their shift. In the event the employee's meal period is preempted or re-scheduled by management outside the above time limit, the employee shall take lunch hour "on the without time deduction at a time which does not interfere with the station operation, and shall be entitled to a six dollar ($6.00) meal allowance, assignment for that day continuing to at least the originally scheduled quitting time. A supper allowance of six dollars ($6.00) shall be paid to employees working more than three
