Physical Fitness Incentive Pay. The Town of Brunswick and the BPBA jointly recognize that if an employee can exceed the physical fitness standards, not only does it benefit the employee, but it benefits the Town.  The Town will pay a bonus of $300.00 (pre-tax) to any employee who can meet or exceed the 50th percentile for push-ups, sit-ups and the 1.5 mile run as set forth by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (see below chart).  The Town will pay a bonus of $963.00 (pre-tax) to any employee who can meet or exceed the 60th percentile for push-ups, sit-ups and the 1.5 mile run as set forth by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (see below chart).  The Town will pay a bonus of $1,445.00 (pre-tax) to any employee who can meet or exceed the 70th percentile for push-ups, sit-ups and the 1.5 mile run as set forth by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (see below chart). If an employee desires to attempt to earn the bonuses, he/she must notify the Chief of Police or his/her designee prior to taking the annual physical fitness test outlined in Paragraph 21 and provide a note from a doctor that it is safe for the employee to attempt to attain the 50th percentile, 60th percentile, 70th percentile or attempt to attain all three categories. The doctor's note must be dated within the year immediately preceding the test. If the Maine Criminal Justice Academy changes the standards (up or down) the standards for the bonus will not be adjusted from the below charts without consent of both the Town and the BPBA. In order to qualify for the bonus, the tests must be performed according to the standards of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (i.e., proper form). The time for performance is at the annual physical fitness test outlined in Article 21. There is no opportunity to retake an item(s) of the test which did not meet the required percentile to be awarded the bonus.

Physical Fitness Incentive Pay. A. Officers hired before October 1, 2009: Officers who achieve voluntary physical fitness standards established in accordance with the criteria in this Article shall be paid a physical fitness incentive of $1,000.00 per year and payable in September of each year in which the Officer meets the applicable annual physical fitness standard. No Officer shall be eligible for more than one $1,000.00 physical fitness incentive payment per year.
Physical Fitness Incentive Pay. An employee who completes a physical fitness program approved by the Employer shall be eligible to receive a Physical Fitness Incentive Pay equal to one percent (1%) of their monthly salary. This Physical Fitness Incentive Pay shall be approved by the Department Director and City Administrator, subject to the final approval of the Mayor, and shall not be subject to the grievance procedure. Physical Fitness Incentive Pay will be paid semi-monthly based on a qualification test administered in December of the previous year and then another qualification test administered in June for the remaining six months of the year.
Physical Fitness Incentive Pay. All sworn personnel will have the option of participating in the physical fitness incentive pay program on an annual basis. The program shall consist of two tiers. The basic tier, "Tier #2," shall require each officer to perform the minimum score, according to the officer's age and gender, on the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program Physical Fitness Requirements. (See Attachment A). A participating officer may achieve a time on the 1.5 mile run up to 10% over the listed time for his or her age to qualify. Each officer who successfully performs the requirements will receive a total of $1,400.00 annually. The testing for the physical fitness incentive will be given during each November. Physical Fitness Incentive payments will be in the following month of December. Each officer will have the opportunity to take the physical fitness test, however, each officer's participation is strictly voluntary. The tests will be conducted on the employee's own time. Prior to taking the physical fitness test, it is recommended that each officer receive medical clearance from his/her own personal physician. Each officer will have the option to take one additional retest if he/she fails the first test. If a member elects a retest he/she must successfully complete all the testing categories again.
Physical Fitness Incentive Pay. Incentive pay shall be awarded to senior employees who can pass a prescribed physical fitness test. Eligibility for this pay begins after three (3) years of the employee’s service with the Tumwater Police Department, except that lateral hires become eligible to participate after successful completion of probation. Employees successfully passing the physical fitness test will be eligible for a lump sum payment of three percent (3%) of the employee’s annual salary minus applicable taxes and other deductions. Details such as eligibility issues, test administration, test scheduling and appeals of test results shall be addressed by Tumwater Police Department policy. Both parties agree that no grievances under this contract or under civil service rules shall result from the physical fitness testing program.
Physical Fitness Incentive Pay. The Physical Fitness Incentive Award Program is established to promote physical fitness among sworn members. Probationary Officers are not eligible to participate in this program until they have completed their probationary period; they may participate after their probationary status ends. The physical fitness test will be administered by the Training Academy and proctored by at least one qualified Fitness Instructors designated by the Training Academy. The Training Academy will announce the testing dates, times, locations, and registration through email 60 days prior to the scheduled event. Testing will not take place during holidays or weekends. This will give ample time for the participants to prepare before the test. The testing will be offered at least twice each calendar year; the participant may only participate in two testing sessions, but may only qualify test once per calendar year. A participant may test only if they are in full duty status, meaning that they are not on limited duty or non-enforcement status. If for some reason a participant cannot test, once scheduled, the participant must inform the Training Academy; failure to do so will bar that participant from testing that calendar year. The participant may then reschedule for a retest. If for some reason a participant with a disability can test only with or without a reasonable accommodation, the participant should contact the ADAAA Coordinator. The Physical Fitness Incentive Award test will be modeled on other wellness programs for law enforcement officers, including the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test. The standards of the POWER test are based on members’ sex and age. In the event technological, legal, or professional considerations, as determined by the City, make changes required or desirable to improve these standards or procedures, the City agrees to notify the Associaiton and solicit recommendations prior to instituting changes. Sworn members must pass every test during one testing session and meet the minimum standards listed in the chart below to qualify for the physical fitness incentive award. Results of the test cannot be used for evaluation, promotional purposes, any type of disciplinary action, or for any consideration for any specialized unit.   • Wellness Incentive Employees participating in the State’s medical plan and who meet the wellness criteria established by the State, in consultation with the Union, shall receive a reduction in medical insurance co-share payments up to a maximum of $500 per year. The earned reductions in medical insurance co-share payments shall be awarded to active employees in FY 2009 or the fiscal year following the employee’s participation in the wellness activities. The Wellness Incentive program will integrate preventative and wellness behaviors into the medical plan. Examples of possible activities include completion of the Health Assessment, obtaining a primary care physician, wellness coaching programs, preventive screenings, non-smoker or completion of smoking cessation program, and/or participation in a program that measures key points in assessing an individual’s overall health.
