Scheduled Vacations. Vacation schedules, once approved by the Employer, shall not be changed, except by mutual agreement between employee and the Employer.

(b) A faculty member recalled to duty while on vacation shall be reimbursed expenses incurred consistent with Article 32 (Travel Allowance). Travel time to return to duty and where necessary to return to the place from where recalled will not be considered vacation time.

Scheduled Vacations. (a) Every consideration shall be made to accommodate an employee's first choice for a vacation period with due consideration for the requirements of efficient operation.
(b) The scheduling and taking of vacations shall be on a calendar year basis.
(c) The calendar year in which an employee's first anniversary falls shall be the first vacation year. For the purpose of additional leave entitlement, an employee commences earning additional vacation days in the fourth vacation year and each succeeding vacation year in accordance with Article 22.02.
Scheduled Vacations. Battalions 2, 3 & 6 - If no Captain is scheduled for vacation, one (1) Engineer shall be allowed to fill one (1) Captain's slot. However, if one (1) Captain is scheduled for vacation, the second slot shall remain open. If no Engineer is on vacation, one (1) additional Fire Fighter shall be allowed to take vacation. However, if one (1) Engineer is on vacation, the second Engineer slot shall remain open. After the scheduled vacation selection procedures have been followed, the slots remaining open shall be made available on a first come, first selected basis. In the event a member cancels their scheduled vacation, the slot shall be considered open and shall be filled. All requests for unscheduled vacation must be in writing to the respective Battalion Chief or appropriate supervisor (e-mail) at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to date of vacation.
Scheduled Vacations. All employees shall take their vacation at the scheduled time. However, a different period of time for vacation may be taken if mutually acceptable to the employee and the Department Head.
Scheduled Vacations a) Employees shall be granted their vacation dates in order of their seniority consistent with the efficient operation of the Employer. Vacation lists shall be posted on or before March 31st of each year. If employees have not selected their vacations prior to March 31st, the Employer will deal with requests for vacations on an individual basis. However, only one (1), two (2) week period shall be selected by seniority until all eligible employees have selected one period. The seniority provision of this section cannot be used for vacation which is not booked in the annual vacation plan by March 31st.
b) Any employee entitled to more than two (2) weeks vacation shall only receive two weeks in one (1) continuous period, unless otherwise mutually agreed between the parties. The remainder of the vacation to which such employee is entitled shall be granted at a time consistent with the efficient operation of the Employer.
c) Employees who have commenced their annual vacation shall not be called back to work except in cases of emergency.
d) Where an employee is leaving the service of the Employer, he/she shall be paid in accordance with Article 15.02 (a) - (f), whichever is applicable for all earned and outstanding vacation up to and including the last day worked.
Scheduled Vacations. 1. Employees shall be offered the opportunity on a seniority basis to indicate a first, second and third vacation preference during the scheduling months of January and February of each year.
2. Vacations scheduled prior to March 1 may be canceled after March 1 subject to loss of seniority rights, and vacations may be rescheduled for available days as noted in the group schedule.
3. If an individual has scheduled his vacation and becomes ill, or cancels his vacation for any reason, he may take any open date for rescheduling the vacation; however, he shall not be entitled to bump anyone for the period he may desire.
4. Employees who bid from one group to another shall be allowed to carry forward their scheduled vacation periods.
5. Employees who are transferred from one group to another, at the request of the Company, shall be allowed to carry forward their scheduled vacation periods.
6. Employees who request and receive approval from the Company for a transfer from one group to another shall not be allowed to carry forward scheduled vacation periods, unless there are corresponding openings in the new group schedule. If there are no corresponding openings, the employee's scheduled vacation periods shall be canceled and rescheduled, subject to existing vacancies within the new group schedule.
7. Employees shall schedule vacations in accordance with these Articles of Agreement.
8. There shall not be any standby or “just in case” lists. If the maximum number of employees are scheduled off, the employee shall not be allowed to put his name on standby in the event another employee turns back a first, second or third preference vacation.
9. If an employee turns back a first, second or third preference vacation during the year, supervision shall announce the vacation during shift briefing, as soon as it is known. This will allow employees to discuss the vacation with their family and plan accordingly.
10. Supervision shall make the announcement, when possible, for two (2) consecutive shift briefings.
11. After the second announcement, supervision shall award the vacation to the senior eligible employee requesting the vacation.
12. Shift Commanders shall give the employees at least three (3) hours after the second announcement to allow any employee who is hearing the announcement for the first time the opportunity to discuss the vacation with their family.

Scheduled Vacations. An employee requesting up to two (2) weeks pre- scheduled vacation must submit his/her request to management before April 1st on each year. The order for determining use of pre-scheduled vacation for up to two (2) weeks shall be determined by using seniority as described in Article 20, Section 20.2 of this Agreement.
