Seniority Categories a. For the purpose of this Article, seniority shall exist for teachers in the following categories: • Elementary teachers with particular endorsements • Secondary teachers with particular endorsements b. Seniority shall be recognized district-wide. There shall be no seniority except that as measured by definition herein. c. Seniority lists shall be maintained separately for each of the above categories and a teacher shall appear only on the seniority list within the category of his/her present employment. Lists will be provided upon request by the Association or Administration.

Seniority Categories. Seniority categories shall be created based on the license and endorsement requirement(s) of the position as determined by the VT Agency of Education using the State Board of Education Manual of Rules and Practices. A separate seniority category shall be developed for each licensing endorsement area with the exception of the following (corresponding endorsement codes are listed in parenthesis): 1. Special Educator (82), Intensive Special Education Teacher (81), and Consulting Teacher (85) shall be combined into one category on the PK-8 and 9-12 Seniority Lists. 2. All Modern and Classical Languages (06 A-F) shall be combined into one category on the 9-12 Seniority List. 3. Physical Education (08) and Health Education (31) shall be combined into one category on the PK-8 and 9- 12 Seniority Lists. 4. Elementary Education (00) category shall include grades K-6. Grade 5 and/or 6 Teachers can select either the Middle Grades or Elementary Ed. Seniority category, but cannot change this selection once it is made. 5. Middle Grades (grades 5-8) Math (19B), Science(19C), Social Studies (19D) and English Language Arts (19A) shall be combined into one category on the PreK-8 Seniority List regardless of the teacher’s licensing endorsement. Grade 5 and/or 6 Teachers can select either the Middle Grades or Elementary Ed. Seniority category, but cannot change this selection once it is made. 6. Early Childhood Education (36) and Early Childhood Special Education (80) shall be combined into one category. 7. Elementary level Math Specialists and/or Coaches shall have a separate seniority category distinct from the Elementary Education seniority category. 8. A separate seniority category shall exist for each teaching assignment without a specific endorsement requirement (e.g., Alternative Education, Pre-Tech, 504 Case Manager, EST Coordinator, SAP, Literacy Specialist, Literacy Coach). Seniority Categories. For the purpose of this Article, seniority shall be measured and recorded within the following categories: I. Elementary Teachers: (K-8) II. Secondary Teachers: (7-12) by Certification III. Special Certificate areas: Counselor, Special Education and Library; (K-12) Seniority lists shall be maintained for each category. Teachers may exercise seniority outside their present category only if qualified (Section 3.2) in another category and notified of the District's intent to terminate from their present category of employment.

Seniority Categories a. For the purpose of this policy, seniority shall exist for Staff in the following categories: - Resource Teacher(s) - School Psychologist(s) - Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor(s) - Speech Language Pathologist(s) - Adaptive P.E. Specialist(s) - Occupational Therapist(s) New positions will constitute a new category until the next contract is bargained. b. Seniority lists shall be maintained separately for each of the categories listed in subsection 3a. Each Staff person shall appear on only one seniority list, and cannot “bump” a probationary or non-probationary Staff member in another category. A Staff member’s category will be determined by “primary duty” based upon the percentage of time allocated to each category as indicated by the Staff member’s current work schedule.

  • Seniority Roster The District shall maintain an updated seniority roster, indicating employee's class seniority and hire date seniority. Such rosters shall be available to CSEA.

  • EMPLOYEE CATEGORIES All employees fall into one or the other of four principal categories as outlined below.

  • Employment Categories (a) Employees under this Agreement will be employed in one of the following categories: (i) full-time; (ii) part time; or (iii) casual. (b) At the time of engagement an employer will inform each employee whether they are employed on a full-time, part time or casual basis. An employer may direct an employee to carry out such duties that are within the limits of the employee’s skill, competence and training, consistent with the respective classification.

  • Seniority Rosters The Employer agrees to furnish the Union each January 31 and July 31 with rosters of all employees who accrue seniority, their current and prior classifications, and start date in each classification and University start date per Section 1. Employees who have accepted positions outside the bargaining unit do not accrue class seniority in the bargaining unit when employed in positions outside the bargaining unit, but retain prior seniority earned in the bargaining unit. When two (2) or more employees have the same classification seniority date, ties shall be broken by recognizing the employee with the greater University seniority first. If a tie still continues, the employee's seniority position shall be determined by lot.

  • Classification Seniority Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.

  • Categories All personnel of the Logistics & Supply Business Unit, within the following work categories and in classifications as enumerated in Article 8.03, are covered by this Agreement. Nothing in this agreement prevents an employee from performing either on a day to day or regular basis, any function or task that is generally performed by any category, provided that the employee is competent to perform the work required. Any efficiencies attained out of this flexibility is not intended to eliminate a category.

  • Seniority Dates Upon request, the Employer agrees to make available to the Union the seniority dates of any employees covered by this Agreement. Such seniority dates shall be subject to correction for error on proper representation by the Union.

  • Seniority Unit Layoff List Selection shall next be made from the Seniority Unit Layoff List unless the vacancy is being filled by an employee with more classification seniority who has received notice of permanent layoff.

  • Seniority List The Employer shall maintain a seniority list showing the date upon which each employee's service commenced. An up-to-date seniority list shall be sent to the Union and posted on all bulletin boards in January of each year.

  • Super Seniority For purposes of layoff and recall only, the President shall head the seniority list, provided however, that such officer must have the necessary skill and experience to perform the required work. The Sheriff agrees that this section shall not be applied in an arbitrary manner.
