Seniority Respecting Overtime. Subject to the efficient operation of the Company, it is agreed that in the event it is necessary to work overtime, employees who are working and are capable of doing the work required will, in order of their seniority, be asked first to perform such overtime work.

Seniority Respecting Overtime. (a) Work performed in excess of eight (8) hours during any day, Monday through Friday inclusive, shall be overtime and shall be paid for at the rate of double time the employee's regular or First Aid premium rate of pay. (b) Subject to the efficient operation of the Company, it is agreed that in the event it is necessary to work overtime in any department, employees shall be acquired in the order of their seniority and qualification within the department to do such overtime work. (c) For the purposes of allocating overtime, employees working in the Section concerned who are capable of doing the work required will be asked first in order of their seniority. If sufficient volunteers are not obtained, employees working in the Department will then be asked in order of seniority, and then, if necessary, Plant wide on a seniority and capability basis. Overtime shall be voluntary on the part of each employee. (d) The following groups shall be recognized as “departments” and “sections” whenever the words are used throughout this Agreement. 1. However, if the overtime required is expected to last more than two hours and there are capable employees on layoff, the Company shall recall said employees rather than ordering employees to work the overtime. Thereafter, the following selection process will apply to those employees who are able to perform the duties required in order of their plant seniority. 1. Employees working in the department. 2. Employees working in the plant. 3. Employees not on shift. b) In the event the Employer wishes to schedule overtime shifts on Saturdays, Sundays, or statutory holidays, employees who are able to do the work required will be asked, in order of their plant seniority in the following manner: 1. Employees who have not had the opportunity to work forty (40) hours in the week just ended due to layoff. 2. Plant wide. c) Labour in the Packaging Department including, but not exclusively limited to, hand-packing, hand-labelling, bundling, re-coding, and stickering is hereby mutually agreed to require no posting or special training and can be performed by any union or permit card employee. If overtime arises in the above job categories, the below steps shall be followed, in order, until the required number of overtime positions are filled. In each step, overtime shall be offered to employees in order of decreasing plant seniority. 1. Employees currently working in the plant shall be offered to work after their scheduled shift ends. 2. Employees scheduled to work on the next shift shall be called in to work early. 3. Employees laid off from work (except seasonal and temporary employees) shall be called in to work. 4. Employees who have completed a work shift earlier in the day and are no longer at the plant shall be called in to return to work. 5. Seasonal and temporary employees laid off from work shall be called in to work.

Employees with permanent or relief postings within that department or who’s home department the duties are required within. 3. Plant wide. c) In the event the employer wishes to schedule overtime shifts on Sundays, employees who are able to do the work required will be asked in order of their plant seniority in the following manner: 1. Employees with permanent or relief postings within that department or who’s home department the duties are required within. 2. Plant wide. d) Employees who are on vacation or leave the work day prior to weekend overtime are not eligible for weekend coverage.
Seniority Respecting Overtime. Overtime work shall be allocated equitably among those employees able to do the work required. The list of each employee’s overtime hours to date shall be updated and posted each pay period. To achieve such the parties, agree to follow the established procedure: Overtime work shall not be compulsory except as outlined below: In the event that the decision to run overtime has been made, the overtime will be offered to all employees who are eligible and competent to complete the work as per the regular allocation of overtime procedure and respecting the following guidelines: • Full time employees within departmentTemporary employees within department • Outside department • Follow forcing procedure as per below: In the event that no employee elects to work the overtime, the labour requirements will be met through the forcing of overtime, respecting the following guidelines: 1. The gap will be filled by forcing employees who are scheduled within the department that week, in reverse order of seniority based on skill set, starting with temporary employees. 2. If the necessary requirements cannot be met by employees within the department then the candidates who have been scheduled in other departments, and who hold the required skill set, will be forced using reverse order of seniority, starting with temporary employees.

Seniority Respecting Overtime. In the event it is necessary to work overtime, the following arrangements will apply, subject to the efficient operation of the company. (a) In the event overtime is required, the most senior employee within the ‘section’ capable of performing the required work shall be offered such overtime first. (b) Notwithstanding the above, for reasons where continuity is necessary for the efficient completion of maintenance work, or any other areas agreed between the Union and the Company, the employees performing the work during their normal shifts will be asked first. (c) Notwithstanding the above, where overtime at the end of a shift is anticipated by the company the overtime will be assigned to the most senior trained and capable employee with the closest quitting time. 2. In the event that sufficient employees cannot be obtained from the ‘section’, then the necessary employees will be acquired in order of their plant seniority firstly from the ‘department’, and secondly, the ‘brewery’, provided the senior employee is willing and capable of doing the work required. 3. Reference to the following Chart 1 will graphically show the composition of ‘sections’, ‘departments’, and ‘brewery’. Brewhouse Section All one Section Packaging Section Fermenting Section Project Section (Plant Wide) Filtering Section Brewing Section Wash House Section (Racking) 4. For greater clarity, the composition described in point 3 above is solely for the distribution of overtime and shall, in no way, impede the ability to assign work. Plant wide trades will be used for unscheduled absences and emergency break downs. In the case of absence on the shift the plant wide trades are scheduled they will be utilized to cover the vacant position until the return of the scheduled person.
