Sick Leave SeveranceAny employee who after eight (8) years of County employment (except for discharge) leaves the employment of the County, shall be paid one-half (½) of his/her accumulated sick leave, up to thirty (30) days, which shall be based upon his/her regular daily wage rate, subject to a cap of $2500.00.
Sick Leave Severance. 1. Severance shall be granted to any teacher who has completed six (6) years with the School City. The amount of severance shall be computed by the following formula: 600 K = the teacher’s accumulated sick leave up to 150 days (excluding teachers whom have accumulated more than 150 days as of November 3, 2016). 2. Sick Leave SeveranceEmployees who have achieved at least 12 consecutive years of service to the district shall receive, upon termination, payment for 50% of their unused, accumulated sick leave. A School Board approved leave of absence does not constitute a break in consecutive years of service for severance eligibility purposes. However, only employees who are on an unpaid leave of absence due to union authorized leave of absence, workers compensation or other medical reasons may earn up to one year of service for severance purposes during their leave.
Sick Leave Severance. Employees hired prior to October 1, 2006 who have not irrevocably elected the TSA match in lieu of severance and who are at least 55 years of age and have at least 15 years of service in the Administrative Assistant or Specialist unit, excluding unpaid leaves of absence of 90 days or more, shall be eligible for a sick leave severance/retirement payment, pursuant to the following provisions, upon submission of a written retirement letter accepted by the School Board. Retirement payment will not be made to any Administrative Assistant or Specialist employee discharged for cause.
Sick Leave Severance. (A) Any employee who is eligible for retirement and retires from County service and is entered on the retirement or pension roll of the County shall be paid for one- half (1/2) of his/her unused sick leave at the time of departure. The beneficiary of an employee who dies while employed by the County shall, upon death of the employee, be paid for one-half (1/2) of his/her unused sick leave on record at the time of death. The beneficiary is the person(s) designated on the employees life insurance declaration with the County. If no beneficiary is named, it shall go to the estate of the deceased employee. (B) Any employee who leaves the employ of the County under honorable conditions after eight (8) years of continuous service with ten (10) working days notice, shall receive one-half (1/2) of all accumulated sick leave days up to the maximum accumulation of one hundred twenty (120) days.
Sick Leave SeveranceAny employee who after eight (8) years of County employment (except for discharge) leaves the employment of the County, shall be paid one-half (½) of his/her accumulated sick leave, up to forty-five (45) days, which shall be based upon his/her regular daily wage rate, subject to a cap of $2,500. An employee with eight or more years’ seniority who is laid off in accordance with the provisions of Article 11 shall maintain his or her sick leave balance as of the date of layoff for a period of 12 months, or until the employee resigns or breaks seniority in accordance with Article 11, whichever is less. At that time, the employee shall be paid one half of his or her accumulated sick leave subject to a cap of $2,500.
Sick Leave Severance. 14.1 Sick leave shall be earned by permanent full-time Employees at the rate of one (1) working day for each full month of service to a maximum of 100 days. 14.2 Part-time Employees shall receive sick leave on a pro-rata basis.
Sick Leave SeveranceAt the time of retirement, except in those cases where the employee's termination of employment is the result of violating Departmental Rules or Regulations, or the employee is found guilty of criminal violation of law, and provided the employee has at least ten (10) years of service with the City at the time of his retirement, an employee who was hired prior to January l, 1985, will receive a cash payment equal to fifty per cent (50%) of the employee's unused accumulated sick leave. Should a bargaining unit member suffer death in the course and scope of employment as certified by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, the requirements of retirement and ten (10) years of service with the City shall be waived for the purposes of sick leave severance.
